I love magic that does physical damage (in any game, even tabletop D&D) but really dislike randomly moving missiles. Considering the caster a melee caster is a great idea I need to try, though. It seems like it'd really help me get over how much I prefer directed energy missiles in games.
At some point, I'll have to try a Fury Wolf with points in Arctic Blast to synergize up the stun on Windhammer's CtC Twisters. Seems fun. Never knew the bit about Tornado's pulses; that explains why the skill always feels like it's doing a lot more work that you'd expect.
Hey, nice vid and great in-depth views of those skills. Small suggestion tho, keep and eye (or rather, an ear) out about your audio while editing the videos. In this one, your voice is panned to the left and it can get quite distracting to hear using headphone. Keep it up, man! :)
So my take away from this is I’m doing the wind Druid wrong. Instead of an insight or infinty merc. I should be going act 5 merc with Lawbringer for the decrep. Then hell would be a breeze pun intended.
Since it was not mentioned, now I'm dubious as your guides are typically quite complete - but wind gets increased damage from amp damage/decrep right? If so, which item besides Reapers' Toll on merc would you recommend?

I think with teleport, doom,nightwing and infinity, hurricane actually can dual significant dmg , even in p8. Despite much lower dmg number, the much larger aoe effect and much consistent hit patent make it way more effective in killing mods than tornado.
it cant. wind druid is pure pvp, his dps is shit in pve, which is why there are so few. Also doom + infinity only works vs like 5 monsters in the game since 99% monsters have 0 cold resis making the - resis of doom pretty much useless while running infinity. it would be much better to run sth that gives amp. dmg curse or Decrepify. amp. dmg tripples the dmg of tornado and Decrepify doubles it on hell.

My friend commented that such windy druid clear mods faster than his full gear hammerdin for p3 or below difficulty.(of course he run both character) Edit: the only difference is that he run reaper's toll merc rather than infinity. But, from what i know, infinity merc is ever so slightly more effective.
I like the build, but the dmg is pathetic. I have Win druid in online -> infinity, enigma, +5 helm, hoto, spirit, +2/fcr amu, 2xSoj, Arach, Full inv of GC Elemental skills etc. and it caps hard on P3. It's fun and super safe:)

Insight can be fine for it, but yes - an a5 lawbring or a2 reaper would be better (or just an "of amplify damage" suffix weapon on an a1/2/5 merc)

The other common decrep-stick is Lawbringer on an A5 merc
And yes, reducing physical resistances does increase tornado damage.
Fun! I have been using twister due to free skill on lore helm with summoner buiiild. I hope to find a Tornaaadoo helm to cheeeekk it out. Too!
I've found the 5 points for werebear, lycanthropy, and shockwave are very worth it on a summoner
