I’m indigenous, and i appreciate that content creators like you will try to learn more by reading stories. I never read the book, but maybe I will check out the “There, there” book. I am not an urban native, always grew up on the reserve, but even for me, i can imagine urban life being very difficult for us because it’s like walking in a different world. It’s like culture shock in a sense, or travelling to another country, where everything is just “different”. But that’s the beauty of going from fixed-mindsets to growth mind-sets, that we struggle with. We’re so used to our elders and leaders lecturing us about staying true to our language and culture, that practical, mundane life, like surviving city life is just like having wicked culture shock.
Me: Watching other people's reading journal videos and taking too many TBR suggestions, while barely scratching the surface of my already longa** TBR!! 😢
I love your reading journal so so much!! 😍 It's so cozy to just watch and journal along... 🤗 I also watched your video about Anne of Green Gables yesterday, and it made me want to read this series so so much! Thank you for creating such beautiful inspiring content! 🧡
Thank you for listing out all the books in the description box. It makes it so much easier to add to my tbr as I'm listening. Hope your autumn is going well.
I’m honestly a little obsessed with it. I am tempted to use it in all kinds of spreads now but I feel like I’ll overdo it and get sick of it 😂 I was even thinking it would make a really nice wallpaper lol
@@PlantBasedBride I totally agree about the wallpaper! In my reading journal I follow a similar structure as you do, but I will use color and vibe themes for each month. It takes more time when sourcing images, but it’s really fun. It could be a nice little twist to add that floral paper or something similar in your usual color scheme just to jazz it up whenever you fancy ☺️
Awwww, Chewy ❤❤❤❤ sad that I missed the There There discussion but so glad you loved it. (Orange’s new book is a sort of prequel - it’s the grandparents/great grandparents etc of the characters in There There)
Oh yay, I’ve looking forward to seeing what you thought of the Emma R. Alban books! I rated Don’t Want You Like a Best Friend 5 stars and You’re the Problem, It’s You 4 stars, but otherwise my feelings are roughly the same as yours. IIRC, the third act conflict in the second book annoyed me more, in the first one the resolution worked so well for me that I didn’t mind it as much.
I’m currently in the process of reading The Nightmare Before Kissmas and The Pumkin Spice Café, so excited to add them to my book journal and look forward to any inspiration I may get from your videos!
@@PlantBasedBride totally recommend The Nightmare Before Christmas if you’re into holiday crossover events, it was so cute!! I’m just starting the Pumpkin Spice Café, but it’s cute so far!
I just opened another video with some music (Epos: Music of the Carolingian Era, as I love getting my medieval groove on hehe) then started playing yours and the music you have here fit *perfectly* with the notes in the other one! (they're kinda in the same mode)
I didn’t not like it, 3 stars is positive for me (just with caveats)! But I did find Laia and Elias very annoying compared to book one and that really impacted my enjoyment 😢
@@PlantBasedBride - I can see that, from what I remember this one was high in the YA angst/yearning department lol I'm curious to see your review of the rest of the series. I have been meaning to do a re-read before I tackle her new book, now I'm wondering if I'm just remembering the series with rose colored glasses 😅

Same, my friend, same 😂
me too!
I’m so glad you love the Freya Marske series! I was so surprised and delighted by these books, they are my standard for romantasy.

You’re very welcome! I’m so glad it’s helpful. Autumn is definitely off to a good start! 😊
I loved that floral paper you added to the July spread! It really brought the whole spread together beautifully 😍

I kept being sidetracked while watching, but I did see that you gave Heaven and Earth Grocery Store a full page spread, I moved it up on my TBR!😂

Oh that's so amazing, I need to check out the prequel! 🥰
the july cover 🤌🤌🤌
I love how it turned out! ❤️

Ok those sound so cute 🥹 are you enjoying them? Would you recommend?

Oo cool! I get way too carried away selecting music for my videos most of the time 😂
I loved Dont Want You Like a Best Friend and totally agree re: You're the Problem Its You being too abrupt in the romance.
I feel like it had so much potential and I liked where it ended up but we needed a couple chapters of transition, you know?
So surprised you didn’t like A Torch Against the Night, that’s my favorite book in the series and I remember it being action packed 😅
