The following exercises are designed to reduce the risk of complications such as abdominal weakness or low back pain following your ab surgery. These exercises should not be painful to do. It is important to do them daily as outlined in this video after getting doctor's approval. I will teach you how to work the abs from the inside out gently, both helping to heal your body, as well as strengthen your core.
Whether it's a c-section, appendectomy or something else, it can be tough to get back to exercise after you've had abdominal surgery. Some doctors advise waiting 6-8 weeks before resuming activity, but each person is different. Always talk to your doctor before you start any workout program - this is especially important if you are looking to start a post-surgery workout or pregnancy exercise program.

2-1/2 weeks post staging surgery for ovarian cancer, full hysterectomy - I was feeling my belly and abdomen falling out of me, so this was great to try and engage some sense of muscle memory. I was very gentle with myself, and will try each day to do a little more. Thank you.

I know this video is 4 years old, but when I was 18 I got into an accident that changed my life. My left leg was decimated, and after surgery the muscles atrophied. I'm better now, but it's been a long road. Finding a workout that doesn't involve machines that targets the inside quad so efficiently is a god send. I got teary eyed after feeling the burn.

After abdominal surgery my core was still very weak and sometimes hurt. I looked for some way to help and was afraid to do too much. This routine was perfect. At first I couldn't do all of the exercises but pretty quickly I was able to easily complete them all. It felt so good. I would like to increase the difficulty but don't know what is safe. The "transversus abdominus" muscle group is still weaker than it should be. Can you do a series on that group? My understanding is that it impacts the abs, pelvis and the lower back. Like a girdle wrapped around.

Thankyou so much for this workout, I had a abdominal myomectomy 3 months ago, have been doing these exercises for a month now (trying to do daily). Initially we're quite painful but now I feel my core getting stronger! I'm off to find something a bit harder for next month, if you could suggest one or two of your videos that would be great. Thankyou!

Thank you so much for this! I had a sesamoid bone fracture and wore a boot for 6 weeks. I was so grateful to have found your channel, and looked forward to doing your hurt foot workouts everyday. It really kept me going. Shortly after my foot healed, I had to go in for an emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy, and had a 2 week recovery period. Ab workouts feel uncomfortable since the surgery, so I am very, very grateful that you have made a video like this. So, so, grateful for you. Thank you!!!

I had gall bladder removal surgery, and this workout was the level of challenging that I needed to strengthen my abs. It differed from other abdominal surgery recovery workouts in that it wasn't too gentle. So, if you're a month or 2 recovered from surgery, this is the perfect workout to start building back the muscle you lost!

I am a former fitness instructor, and was in pretty good shape before my ab surgery. I have just been cleared to work out by my doctor, but I just want to tell everyone that this workout is really hard, especially the transitions between exercises. I would advise folks to take their time between transitions. And to back off on the exercises that hurt truthfully when she said the stomach exercises felt great, for me they were hurting. But I am going to try to modify these exercises and do a little bit every day.

Yes I agree, its SO important to meet your body where its at esp within your own unique healing journey. Every BODY is so different and healing can be a roller coaster of ups and downs, good and bad days. Take it all in stride and let me know how I can support you!
