This is so refreshing. No disrespect to the established guys like Mox, Kenny, and Danielson, but it's so refreshing to see new generational talent like Ricky and MJF be front and center by themselves and not against established guys.
Edit: It would appear that the mere mention of Kenny Omega will make any reply section go downhill. This is actually pretty funny.

The "established guys" are nowhere near the level of MJF to be fair, especially Omega and to an extent Mox. Danielson is the best of those 3, but MJF is something else, the casual fans love him and that's rare now
100%. It''s time that the stars AEW have built up start getting the spotlight now. All the established guys have done their job in building it up, now let the new generation run with it.
@@ste4392 In terms of what ? MJF is only better than Kenny on the mic. Even then his Japanese promos are god tier. Character work, wrestling ability and storytelling is why Omega is a serious contender for best of all time.

"I'm smacking the mole off your neck." The dynamic between MJF and Ricky Starks is great. We might be cheering for him, but Ricky still has a heelish edge to him, so he doesn't mind verbally hitting below the belt against MJF. Great stuff.

The best heel and face matchup right now. This is classic wrestling feud awesomeness with two who can go both on the mic and in the ring (and that maxi pad line, nice one. The people love having something to chant and it raises that heel/face dynamic when they do) Great to see Starks get a spotlight, MJF is of course fantastic, and glad to see Page in the last battle spot and losing in a way that didn’’t make him look weak or cost him his earned heel points.

As someone who's been a wrestling fan since he was five, now 35.....it's so cool to see new young up and comers in the business and know that the industry is in great hands. Between Solo Sikoa, Ricky Starks, Jungle Boy, MJF, Kris Statlander, Bianca Belair, Skye Blue, Bron Breakker, and more the industry is in excellent hands for the next generation.

I saw the potential Ricky Starks had back when he was in the NWA. He wasn't quite there, yet, but it was clear that he had the talent and he improved consistently during his run in the NWA. This is the guy that Billy Corgan thought he would become. It's who most NWA fans thought he would become.

One of my favorite things about this segment is how Ricky is calm cool and collected while he lets MJF 'have the floor'. He's not overreacting, not giving that stupid sarcastic face everyone seems to give when someone is talking about them in wrestling, he's just acting as someone who is actually the coolest in the room would act. Honestly, he's probably not 'acting' at all 😄
Holy crap that was brilliant! As great a heel as MJF is, Starks answered back like a top babyface. Its exactly this kind of rivalry and storytelling that really makes wrestling worth watching.
My favorite part was MJF off-mic talking about the maxi-pad chant ...

MJF is a true professional who puts over his opponents. He reminds me of Kurt Angle. Angle got over so many opponents in his first few years by remaining unselfish and actually stooging for his babyface opponents. MJF does the same thing. That’s what will keep him on top for years to come.
There’s a difference between being a great wrestler and being a great performer, Starks and MJF are just that, great performers, the facial expressions, the delivery, the believability, “it” factor, personality, confidence, charisma. These are all things that cannot be taught, you either have them or you don’t.

Where as Ricky is not “quite” as smooth as MJF. He is definitely way more original with the smack he talks. And he is a much better wrestler then MJF. In time he might even be a shooter. MJF will never be.
Ricky just dunked all over MJF, he is so charismatic and it’s so natural too. The crowd loves him too, he’ll be AEW Champ at some point!
The war of words between MJF and Ricky Starks was absolutely brilliant. Both will lead AEW straight to bigger heights in 2023. And their main event match at *Winter Is Coming* shall be one to remember.

I've watched him live here in Ontario California and he's really good and a very entertaining wrestler
I've watched him since his NWA days where he was their TV champion. He's always been a great all around performer/wrestler & I'm soooo glad he's getting the push he's deserved all these years. Very respectful & kind guy too. Very responsive to all/most of his comments on IG.

This was MAGIC! One of the best segments in Dynamite history -- and that's no exageration. Years from now when these guys are somehow even bigger stars, people will look back at this segment as a career-defining moment for Ricky in particular. Starks and MJF has potential to be a feud for years to come!
Rickys a jobber. He lost so much there’s no reason to believe he can beat MJF. He’s filler on the road to Bryan who is also a jobber in AEW.

The fact they're even trusting him as MJF's first title defence shows how highly they think of him, fucking hell this promo alone should give you a clue. If he doesn't end up being AEW Champion in the future I'll be shocked.

Gotta say this: Ricky Starks is just steamrolled MJF's promo game. Both of them are absolute diamonds. Such an awesome baby-face promo with emotion, passion and confidence. The exact kind of wrestling promos that absolute need to be present still. I Love it.
Though MJF played his role perfectly. How he reacted to Starks' comments throughout, looking like it was getting to him, the little low blow and Starks' comeback. Chef's kiss on making Starks look like a bonafide star and building heat for the match. Won-der-ful.
It takes two to tango. MJF gave Ricky a fast ball down the middle cos he knew Ricky would knock it out if the park, especially with the limited build for this. It really shows just how much he's matured over the past two years. And how great Ricky has been THIS WHOLE TIME.

Holy smokes. Ricky really went ALL IN on him. They literally had no other build, but this promo made it seem like this feud has been going for months with Ricky holding in all those issues and frustrations he's had with MJF. just Wow.
Ricky, Ethan, and mjf have been bouncing of each other for years. In that way, MJF really is the most established pillar in AEW, especially when compared to jack Darby and sammy who haven't had as many epic moments outside of TV wrestling in my opinion. Honestly yuta and Garcia are above them too in terms of match quality.
