For anyone who might have an issue with this here is a run down of Japanese history which led to this. In Japan women were allowed to take the throne, the first Japanese Empress took the throne some 1400 years ago and was followed by 6 other Empresses 2 of which ruled twice. Women ruling Japan was an accepted thing that the Japanese didn't have a problem with at all. Until the Meiji Restoration 150 years ago where the Japanese overthrew the old Feudal system and the Tokugawa. A new ruling class took over and wanted to establish a new system so they looked outside of Japan to the US and Europe for how to go about making this new system. After looking at various systems they settled on the Prussian system where the Emperor had near absolute power over the nation however a consequence was women had little to no power so long as a male heir existed. They implemented this system and used it for 70 or so years until the US defeated Japan in WW2. When the US invaded and occupied Japan they rewrote their constitution removing nearly all of the Emperors power leaving him with less power than what the British royalty have today. In addition to this the Imperial Household Law of 1889 was changed as a direct result of the US rewriting the constitution and occupying Japan which made it so that the Royal family was restricted in size. Only so many people could be a part of it so it limited how many children can be part of the Royal family. So the situation of women not being allowed to be heirs and the limited number of royals is because of Western influence and interference. The Prussian system made it so women couldn't be heirs and the US occupation and rewriting of the constitution led to the restriction of the families size.
Sexist Japanese politicians passed additional laws to bar women from succession preceding the abdication just a couple years ago because they had a chance to pass succession to women through abdication.
You forgot to say that every time a woman has ruled Japan, the country has always suffered terrible misfortunes, I am not saying it but the history of Japan itself, so it is better that things in Japan continue to be in the hands of men

@@user-ze8fr9wq1t the Japanese royal family doesn't really have too much political power, outside of using their influence to call for certain actions. There are very few actual monarchies around these days.
For them it is. The monarchy has been a part of Japan for thousands of years it's their culture and to lose it would completely change Japan. Just think about how devastating it'd be for the British if their entire line of royals all died. The royalty is one of the symbols of England so to lose them would mean to lose part of their identity. Just like Japan losing it's royalty would be losing a part of their identity.

I mean, if it doesn’t work out, they can do like the european monarchies and look into the descendents of former generations. Then eventually show up in front of some random mailman‘s house and be like: „Congratulations, you are the new emperor of Japan“
Only the descendants of Emperor Taisho are eligible to become Emperors. All cadet branches of the Imperial family were stripped of their titles after the Second World War and it would require a constitutional amendment for that to change. If you can do that, why not just allow women to ascend the throne? Japan has the oldest unamended constitution in the world and the National diet have other priorities when it comes to the laws they want to amend, so I don’t expect anything to change anytime soon.
@@Shanaoh I prefer if Japan creates a new constitution which closer to the Meiji Constitution and revoke the 1947 constitution. @Black Star Japan is one of the Most Patriarchal societies out there . I had read an article that for the preservation of the Y chromosome they’ll never allow a woman emperor
If thats the case then just make more babies until a son is born. Lol it's their fault for only having 1 child Theyre privileged. Money is not a problem
After WWII, the line of succession removed all the cadet branches. This meant only descendants of Emperor Taisho would be eligible to become emperor. One option that was floated before the birth of Hisahito was to "adopt" the next male in line of succession if the cadet branches were not removed. This is quite difficult too, since the many cadet branches also have become extinct in the 70+ years of them being "commoners".
The Japanese government is currently also discussing for the restoration of the former cadet branches of the imperial family. But I hope they will also restore the aristocrat families from Japanese clans under the system of peerage nobility. This means Japan also needs to revise a new constitution which more resemble the Meiji Constitution and revoke the 1947 constitution.

@@TheodoraPeter Korea was dynasty for their entire history until Japan invaded it and Korea was divided by Soviet and USA after WW2 splitting them into communist North and semi-dictatorship South Korea which then became the Koreas we have today with the south actually have democratic President and the north is still dictatorship
@@TheodoraPeter How old are you? Have you not gone to secondary yet? In world history or any government they teach you about the different governments of the world. This topic is covered and Japan is stated as a constitutional monarchy along with the UK and her commonwealth (IE Canada, Australia, ETC).
@@aaronmontgomery2055 yeah I know that, I was just confused b/c the comment said that Japan killed Korea’s heirs
Yeah, that's what happens when your princesses lose royal statuary if they marry a commoner. Your pool of choices really shrinks.
Yeah you’d think they put 2 and 2 together but nah
Sad, and the public force them to marry a commoner
Men are used to be cogs in the political machine and women are used for political marriages. During harsh times, what use is a woman who marries a commoner?
@@chrisdominguez5097 I mean, in this case its pretty obvious that the advantage is heirs.
I feel bad for the boy-
Like- I'm literally 12 too. The only thing me and my friends really stressed about, is a creeper blowing up while we mine diamonds in minecraft...or school work ofc. Like dude, I get that he has to be respectful, but I feel bad that anything he says is scripted
I’m 13 about to be 14 and the only thing I’m stressed about is school but imagine being 12 (13 now since this was a year ago) and having pressure on you to have a son for more heirs
I'm 12 and I play roblox lol
@@isabel_gi1 cool lakers or nets
agree, im 14 and stressed about school and ap tests and music stuff, but i mean imagine being 12 knowing that one day you will ascend the throne... royal children are lucky and unlucky at the same time

Prince of my age: becoming king
Me: still not familiar with the neighborhood
Also me: gets lost in my own town
Also me: too shy to communicate to the neighbors
also me: forgets the months order
Also me:still closes the fridge slowly to see where the light turns off
Also me: can't remember the cities and whatever else that's in my country
Honestly, I feel like I'm gonna die first, while not knowing until the end.
I-I didn't even know Japan has princes and princesses...
Nowadays most monarchs including the monarchs of Japan and the U.K are just ceremonial
I don't even know it either
Me too. I actually only found out on this video😅. I was quite shocked.
@762 765 still ceremonial they have no power
I know from BitLife
Japan: "We are running out of Royal heirs"
12 year old heir to the throne: "Finally, the time has come for operation Dai Nippon's Harem."
@Austin thicc onee-sans: Ara ara
Harem was removed and forbidden since Japan lost to USA because USA rewrote their laws.
This video was recommended but now I kinda want to know why aren't they still allowing their daughters to be the heir.
Keeping the blood line pure is the thing they want which i don't think neither the daughter's or his son can keep the blood line pure so whoever keep the throne doesn't really matter it's 2021 they are not gonna fight in a war anyways
I mean, if it doesn’t work out, they can do like the european monarchies and look into the descendents of former generations. Then eventually show up in front of some random mailman‘s house and be like: „Congratulations, you are the new emperor of Japan“
They'll show up at some otakus house and Japan's anime industry revenue will double
Lol I guess they can take some ideas from their manga and animation industries
@@i_biscuit7140 doesn't make sense
Only the descendants of Emperor Taisho are eligible to become Emperors. All cadet branches of the Imperial family were stripped of their titles after the Second World War and it would require a constitutional amendment for that to change. If you can do that, why not just allow women to ascend the throne? Japan has the oldest unamended constitution in the world and the National diet have other priorities when it comes to the laws they want to amend, so I don’t expect anything to change anytime soon.
@@Shanaoh I prefer if Japan creates a new constitution which closer to the Meiji Constitution and revoke the 1947 constitution. So the princesses can marry without losing their status and title even when they marry a commoner and restore the former cadet branches of the imperial family as well the aristocrat families under the system of peerage nobility.
Knowing all the misery this kid's grandma went through for being a commoner (mental breakdowns), his aunts suffered for not having sons AND being commoners (mental breakdowns), the BS his cousins are suffering (preventing Mako from getting married for over 2 years because they don't like her fiancée's mother), (Aiko's nervous breakdowns), AND his mother went through, the position of being his wife seems a little too intense for anyone sensible to want. He's gonna have to fire half the courtiers to have a chance at a happy life.
This kid's grandmother was also catholic
mako is his sister not cousin
How about we allow a female heir?
"NEVER!"
But we dont have anyone else or other options in general.
"I've always been very open to change, more power to women like it should've been a long time ago..."
@一山田 Because Biblically God's hierarchy of rule is theocratic first, then patriarchal. There is a certain order to authority that was established in Eden and confirmed by Paul the Apostle that must be adhered to.
@@SpectreStatus my man, they aren't Christians
@@SpectreStatus ruth was a matriarch....
@Black Star Japan is one of the Most Patriarchal societies out there . I had read an article that for the preservation of the Y chromosome they’ll never allow a woman emperor
If thats the case then just make more babies until a son is born. Lol it's their fault for only having 1 child
Theyre privileged.
This means Japan also needs to revise a new constitution which more resemble the Meiji Constitution and revoke the 1947 constitution.
i was under the impression that Japan is running out of heirs in general
Uf
"12 years old kid: the last heir of Japan"
That's a nice anime title
Britain going through a grieving stage when Harry left with hundreds of heirs
Japan: am I a joke to you
Its funny how, suposedly the Royal family of japan is so 'cause they descend from a FEMALE goddes. So, by their own laws, if they can't inherit from women, they are not so Royal anymore...
