Goddamn I love this song. I've been listening to it since I was very young. I used to sing this song repeatedly along with American Pie.
I have autism and repetitive language is a symptom and I would repeat those two songs again and again. I had a tape with those two songs on it and I used to play the two songs and then rewind it once they were finished, wash and repeat.
Damn, I'm feeling nostalgic and sad now.

I'd heard this was a song about how he felt about performing with Billy Connolly. The more pubs they performed in, the more the crowds just wanted to hear Billy's stories. They ended up saying goodbye at Anderston train station & that was a new beginning for the both of them.
