Thank you, I am enjoying your videos. Some people talk a lot, but leave you none the wiser.....😂 With you, I really am learning how to understand my orchids better. Wilma, South Africa
Those hurricane screens- oh yea!! The only thing I see missing in there is a portable hammock for you to lay down next to the most recent flowers and soak them in ❤
Just found your channel, just subscribed, i can learn alot from you as i live in Jamaica, similar climate. Your orchids are beautiful. Cant wait to gain some of your knowledge. 😊😊😊😊😊
Slugs are my main problem, especially with dendrobiums and phals. And some of these are on concreted areas. You can see the slug trails traversing the area. Ugh. Your screened area looks great. Mine are in the open, but I like that natural look, too.
Your wife is a saint😜. I live in Osprey and just discovered your Chanel so, I am the 662nd subscriber ! My lanai is not as large as yours so I had to have a fence built and many of my mounted and bare roots orchids hang on it. Totally agree with bringing cattleyas under cover when it rains too much. Debby was a doozer 😍
Thanks for making these videos! I love seeing your orchids and your tips and tricks. I also like to see that someone else is even more addicted to Orchids than I am. 😅 My coworker lives in the same area as you and she too us addicted, like we are.
Very nice. I’m loving your videos because they are filled with good info and ideas. I’m glad to see someone who doesn’t routinely use insecticides and fungicides.
Hi dave, I am 82 and have started a small orchid hobby. i live near you, in the corner of clark & beneva rd. I have a 10x10x10' outdoor screened room surrounding an old hot tub turned koi and goldfish pond. I do have automatic sprinklers that come on 3 times a week . Luckily i have another 10' screen room that used to be a bird aviery I have been learning a lot from you videos. i realize i need to fix up the second room so i can have a wet room and a dryer room. but first i will have many questions as i do this. I hope you will answer these 3 for me. 1} where should i go to buy 20x20 screen? 2} What is the name of the drill bit that drills holes in the clay pots and where did you find it? 3} how large or what size is the drill bit? I will stop with these so as not to take up all your time today.
Love your content. Beautiful orchids. I've just gotten the orchid bug recently. I live in north Texas and have built a small indoor glass cabinet with humidity control. On a whim I bought 2 small vandas. Small as vandas go, but not small as my cabinet goes... My big fear is when they outgrow the cabinet. My house hovers around 50 to 55 percent humidity. When they have to come out of the cabinet, how bad will it be trying to keep them in the house? Outside gets way too hot/dry and way to cold in winter.
Thank you for your kind words! It's great to hear you're diving into the world of orchids. Vandaceous orchids can be a bit tricky, but with the right care, you'll be able to keep them thriving even outside the cabinet. Just keep an eye on humidity levels and consider using a pebble tray or misting to help!
Ok, you're starting to win me over. Just keep in mind that we don't all live in Florida so please make sure you take that in to consideration when giving advice such as "mount all of your orchids". Most people are gonna benefit from an actual potting tutorial. I know you don't pot your plants, but if you did, what would you use, and how would you do it?
I appreciate your feedback! You're absolutely right; not everyone lives in Florida, so I’ll definitely consider a more universal approach in my future videos. A potting tutorial sounds like a great idea!
Are there any other orchid topics you want me to do an in-depth video on?

Orchids give us joy. Yes God's creations are spectacular.
