Just lovit. Am late 70’s and struggled with masking and packing tape almost that long. Finally LAST WEEK I bought the dispenser you showed. Had no clue how to use it. When I worked it out it was a godsend but I didn’t know where the end dangled loose or was fixed somehow. You nailed it! (Taped it)
It made me laugh when he was like “looking good, that’s an attractive looking box for the customer” and everything was crooked lol But it’s just a demonstration and he was in a hurry so I don’t really blame him for not taking too much time on it. Thanks for the tips, especially with the tape gun :)
Thank you I was having trouble cutting tape at the end. It wouldn't cut. I will try the technique. Was wondering if you can do a close up of cutting the end
Hi Serkunny, Thank you for your comment. Sadly I can't really do that without redoing the video, but a few tips. Make sure you are lifting up on the tape away from the box ever so slightly this helps keep the tape tight as well as keeps you from cutting into the box. The biggest thing is to remember you are cutting with the wrist. The cutting teeth on the tapegun are usually at an upwards angle so its important to cut downward rather than outward. Hope this helps and good luck!
Hi Nabil, The tape guns were use here at Shipmate were actually imported by us for our own use at the warehouse so they are not really for purchase anywhere. If you check uline, amazon, or ebay you should be able to find lots of different tape guns depending on your price range. Hope this helps and thank you for watching!
Hi Conor, I don't have any specific tips on this, however I would say that cheaper tape guns tend to have this problem, you don't have to spend a ton of money to get a good tape gun, but you want one that is well made and doesn't let the tape have too much play in it where it can get tangled. Good luck!
DO NOT STOP and cut the tape just below the side - KEEP GOING, around the OTHER SIDE of the box, all the way AROUND until the tape overlaps where it started. Also, go around the box PERPENDICULAR to the flaps, FIRST.
Tapping all the way around is difficult when the content of the box is heavy and it's hard to flip the box with one hand while the other is holding the tape gun.
@@HoangNguyen-hv1qy How difficult is it when your box bursts open when it is dropped onto a conveyor because it was not taped securely, and the recipient gets an empty box? Or a just a piece of it with the address label, and the contents are long lost? Hint: Set the box on its SIDE, and go around the four sides that are accessible, then turn it onto one of those and do the others.
Haha, I tried to film while the majority of the staff was on lunch so there weren't too many distractions, but it seems a few came back early and snuck into my shot :)
That's a pretty ugly tapping job. His flaps aren't even touching each other and there's a 1/4" gap developing as he goes across the seam. Furthermore, the tape is not applied smoothly on the box and has a ton of creases. A much better way is to fold the flaps and make sure their edges are touching all along the seam. Tape perpendicular to the seam to hold the flaps tight. That way your hands isn't in the way while you trying tape along the seam.
First off thank you so much for watching 6:30 in to notice we appreciate it. Our office is actually located through a door behind the back left column and you noticed one of our packers leaving for her lunch break. I didn't notice that before good eyes!

Yeh I noticed the slop job. Actually, the tape gun itself seemed to be loose ! 😂
I am about to look for: "how to tape a box beautifully" XD but I also get it was just a quick demonstration.
Ya that tape job looked like shit. Flaps had a lot of space between. I like my box flaps flush.
I'm new at taping boxes at my new job and needed tips on how to tape a box. Thank you. :)

Any tips on setting up tape gun how to stop it tangling

Which tape gun is the best?
You should show DKoldies how to do this. Did you see the way that they tape their boxes?
Fantastic thanks
Thank you so much and thank you for watching!
why not use duck tape? just wondering since it's sturdier?
DO NOT STOP and cut the tape just below the side - KEEP GOING, around the OTHER SIDE of the box, all the way AROUND until the tape overlaps where it started. Also, go around the box PERPENDICULAR to the flaps, FIRST.
That would be terrible

I 100% thought this was a greenscreen until 6:07

U also want to make sure your tape gun isn't too loss or too tight

Thank you Sir, saw someone hiding behind the column...
