- It's Adam Koralik here and today we're traveling to Tokyo Japan, sort of! Actually in this episode we spend the entire episode in Tokyo's Narita (NRT) airport with the goal of getting to Saipan in the CNMI, a US territory. This continues our three week adventure, and the second of TWELVE episodes. This episode will have a heavy focus on everything to do at Narita International Airport.

Though this video was cool because of the food and the airport, honestly the best bits of it were you talking about the time(s) you and your mum met up at the airport. You've made it really clear that her passing has been very sad for you and I completely understand. It's just really nice to see you now being able to show/contextualise some of the things you did while she was alive. Not that you ever get over the loss but it's nice to see happiness in your eyes now , talking through these good memories.I truly hope you're now at a place mentally where you're treasuring the memories instead of still having to deal with the grief. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I agree, the story of the student with her uncle, interviewing you and your mom was very special.
@@AdamEatsTheWorld bruh
Yeah, those stories about you and your mom made me happy, sad, then happy again. Thank you for sharing.
Mom Koralik raised a pretty cool son. You definitely have her love of teaching others.
The bus to Tokyo station is the best option in my opinion. It’s cheaper than train and the view is a lot better
Only Adam Koralik can make an entire airport adventure interesting.
I try.
On capsule toys, I'm convinced that there's capsule toys for literally everything! at least from other videos I've seen covering the wide variety of offerings out in Japan. gotta comment on the amazing looking sushi though, it all looked delicious! also nice to hear stories of you and your mom's travels.
My last trip in November I flew to Haneda. Going to Narita this time. Looks massive...
Oh cool, now we can experience having to wait around for a flight too. Yeah, this is what we needed.
14:00 the sun and the lion combined is the Thousand Sunny from some show about pirates you never watch. There's like, a whole meme where the pirate leader is like "Look at me. I'm the captain now"
8:07 the house I used to live in had nothing but two prong outlets, but that was the least of its problems
This video was a lifesaver when I was planning my layover in Narita Airport! I had no idea there were so many things to do, especially if you only have 24 hours. I'm definitely going to check out some of these recommendations next time I'm in transit. What are some of the best places to buy souvenirs at Narita Airport that represent the unique charm of Japan?
There's a bunch of gift shops, I'm sure you'll find plenty of things.
Never thought I'd enjoy a video of some dude hanging around an airport so much, Awesome video Adam
Glad you enjoyed it!
from my experience nrt is way less crowded and has less wait times but if it’s your first time in japan go to hnd for the best japanese culture experience but it will be way more crowded and longer wait times
I always go to Nartia Station (6 mins from airport) when I have extra airport time. Lots to do and yummy Unagi.
I'm headed to Japan this summer. Got almost 2 days to spare and I'm landing at the NRT. I'm a bit nervous about hotel accommodations for the those 2 nights should i book before or should i book when im there? Id love to kinda just wing it but i dont need to get lost lol. And what to do before my company arrives? Don't feel like hanging at the airport but also don't wanna go to far, thanks for the help. Awesome video
That's personal preference. If you have two days, I'd suggest going into town.
United lounge in Narita was open when I went through there in January
Recall the date?
Today we join our favourite Bearded Gaijin as he bums around a Japanese Airport for a day waiting for his flight to his final destination of Saipan in the CNMI. While waiting he shows us around the Airport and gets food, and shares interesting and touching stories of previous experiences at Narita Airport. Then h boards his flight to Saipan where he waits to get dropped at his lodgings.

First of all that wa a very neat story of that local doing that English speaking experience with you and your Mother. And you bet I bustedd out laughing at that no Pickles sign that was great. Good work as always Adam looking forward to the next part.
Thanks as always for your recap!
@@AdamEatsTheWorld You're welcome.
I might have to spend a day in Japan just at Narita even though both my flights are at Haneda
Just wondering, but are you aware of the Sakura Lounge at Narita? I somehow got a special pass to go there when I was returning back home to the US. Free excellent food and drinks (open bar), with a runway view and VERY nice interior.
No? Where's that?
@@AdamEatsTheWorld Can search JAL Sakura Lounge Narita and find out a lot more. Is a great spot to check out next time you go through Narita. There’s also apparently a first class lounge where you get fresh hand rolled sushi. Look forward to seeing it in a future video, and thanks for all the great content!
Narita was CNMI's major hub for many decades. We always had to lay over a night to fly out to the mainland.
What up son?!?
@@AdamEatsTheWorld chillin and cleaning with glenn arriola.
Sounds like a good spin off.
@@AdamEatsTheWorld 🤣
Just an FYI, you likely could have used either the ANA or Star Alliance lounge flying United if you have the Club membership, or flying Business Class. Also, both Delta and United thru their respective purchases of Northwest (all) and Pan Am’s (Pacific Routes) had grandfathered fifth freedom route authority to operate Tokyo as a hub airport, offering flights between Tokyo and many destinations in Asia, such as Singapore, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, etc. They were allowed to sell local traffic airline tickets. Changes in the industry have greatly reduced their use of NRT as a hub airport. Great video’s FYI!
They wouldn't take me at the Star Alliance lounge because I'm not a gold member. :/
The latter part of that is fascinating though.
11:45 dude, I suffer from cat tongue too! People look at me all weird when I let hot cocoa cool off to room temp then proceed to put ice cubes in it
30:24 dang man, I didn't know you have to take the S.A.T's!
28:10 Touchdowns? All of Adam's viewers who like handegg just scored a field goal!
11:44 Definitely got to add Adam mentioning his suffering from Cat Tongue to the flying and eating drinking game
Oh it'll get worse as this series goes.
@@AdamEatsTheWorld Excellent 😁👍
Do they have the capsule hotels at the airport proper? Thanks for the video.
Not that I recall.
Which hotel you check-in?? Do you have visa transit in order to go out side the airport..
I don't remember the name of it off hand, there's tons of them in Narita.
Visa? Depends on what country you're from. I'm an American, so no.
Is your flight the next day a connecting flight? if yes, since you went out of the airport, did you have to collect your checked-in baggages before you left narita to go to your hotel or do you just collect your checked in baggages in your final destination? I have an upcoming trip & its goin to be my first time experiencing a layover in haneda airport. im flying from phil-haneda-lax via ANA & the layover is going to be >8hrs & since i have a valid japan tourist visa, id like to go out of the airport & explore so i want to know if i'll be lugging my checked in baggaes with me if i decide to go out of the airport during my layover?
You need to recollect your bags and check them back in.
@@AdamEatsTheWorld Thank you for replying back =)
does narita security close at night? We are arriving at 4pm at Haneda then trasnferring to Narita but our flight is not until 9am the next day.
I assume it does, most airports stop allowing people in after midnight and tend not to open until 4. But I can't be completely sure.
I'd suggest getting a hotel that night, preferably near Narita.
Im curious, a friend of mine said it's worth going to the narita temple and outlet mall. What are your thoughts? We have a 12 hr layover in November
Eh, I never did so I can't say. Personally I find it easy enough to amuse myself at NRT, but if you want to venture out, you can.
@@AdamEatsTheWorld Ty!
02:50 Touching story.
23:15 I don't know how anyone could mistake the Pluto for a computer. Customs and TSA thought you were trying to smuggle sushi
I have a flight there next month. What’s the process I only have a 2 hour layover over
Process? You either leave the secured area and go into the country (get stamped) or you stay in the secured area and follow signs for connections.
I will be traveling to Japan this week and have a 8hr layover. I was wondering would I need to be vaccinated or have a booster shot to roam around the places you showed in the video? Or is that only if I leave the airport?
The majority of where I am in this video is beyond customs. So yeah, you'd have to be. If you're just staying in the airport and not entering Japan, you'll basically be confined to where I was when I went beyond exit customs.
So if I were to go to like the shopping mall area and the restaurants in the airport, I would need to be vaccinated and boostered? Sorry this is my first time flying to Japan on my own. I just want to be prepared
Good video. What's CNMI?
Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, a US territory in the Pacific.
What console are you holding in the thumbnail?
Sega Pluto prototype.
Does anyone know of car rental services at this airport?
I really wouldn't recommend renting a car in Japan.
@@AdamEatsTheWorld Oh really? Why's that? Even for a day trip to the countryside?
It's ludicrously expensive, the country is actively designed to prevent that. You CAN drive, but it'll cost you. Trains are recommended for getting around. Keep in mind this is a society where riding in a cab is so luxurious that drivers wear white gloves. If you're driving and sort of distance, you have MONEY.
Adam where do you get your money from to afford constantly travelling?
Traveling isn't expensive. People think it is because they do it wrong. I give advice about this all the time on my Discord.
Is it allow to stay overnight in narita airport?
I mean, they won't kick you out. But it'll be really an unpleasant experience.
Do you have to go outside the security checkpoint and back through to explore the airport? 😢
On an international arrival? You have no choice but to do that. Only domestic transfers stay behind the secured zone.
@@AdamEatsTheWorld I’m sorry, bad wording. I’m arriving international for a short layover, i should already be in the security zone. Are majority of the shops in the airport where the gates are (before or after security check in), and if i want to travel between terminals, do i have to “exit” ave get rechecked in? Thank you
Oh yeah, the majority of what you see in this video is before security.
If you're doing an international transfer you don't actually have to leave the secured area.
But I'd highly recommend doing so. Customs and airport security aren't a big deal, depending on what citizenship you have.
@@AdamEatsTheWorld I’m doing a transfer and it’s only a 2 hr layover, so i just wanted to make the most of my time. Thanks for being so responsive!
Ah okay, yeah, that's not much time. Best to stay in the secured area then.
Holy crap hope you figure out the audio levels in the next videos.
Thanks.
I don't know why you keep saying there's nothing there, giving the impression that Narita airport is in the middle of the Sahara or something...There's a ton of places to go nearby. There's Narita city next door. There's Chiba New Town next to that...Tomisato...There's lierally Japan outside the airport. All you have to do is walk out and discover it.
Because it's an airport basically on a farm. The surrounding area isn't devoid of life, but it's not Tokyo.
help....21 hr lay over!!! :)
1:22 the passing little girl leering at you while you're explaining the limousine bus line is probably thinking
*HEY! IS THAT ADAM KORALIK!!? FIGURE IT OUT!!!!!*
21:57 Best Buy should rent up space in Narita for members of their now-defunct Gamers Club Unlocked. The only person chilling there would be you, obviously
Man i could FEEL the desolation in this video
Glad I could help?
Imagine how jelly the homeless squatters in ORD are that you spent time in NRT
First time viewer... i liked your video but got so dizzy watching it. Slow down on your camera, please!
7:53 Adam leaking his OnlyFans over here
The fact that this man made such a bag off reviewing dreamcast games that he can run a travel channel is inspiring
Ha...
31:52 just get a component artist to sketch a depiction of the restricted area, duhh! 🟢🔵🔴
