What pisses me off about this is that this extended version was never shown in high-school this version literally made a whole lot more Sense and meaning to the ending than the original did because it carried both very low and high notes to the story.
Frr! I love this version so much better! I wish we could've seen it, but it's PG-13 and apparently we would've needed a permission slip for it when all we add is a FEW scenes! Literally everything else is the same. But yeah, I definitely agree
Love how he understood both perspectives and helped Ponyboy understand that Darry really did care about him but had a hard time showing it but helped Darry understand that Ponyboy was grieving even more than they were and that he felt things differently then he did. Always loved that about Soda.
Sodapop saw both sides, so he was able to explain them! He told Ponyboy that Darry wanted to give him a chance he missed out on, and he told Darry he needed to listen to Ponyboy! They agreed, and promised not to fight anymore!
I have seen both versions, because it's my all time favorite movie, the theater cut movie we all have seen is actually much better because in the other version, the music is different in the theatrical scenes,
Johnny was the only person Dallas ever loved, and after he died, he had nothing! I absolutely agreed with Sodapop that he ended up worse than dead before the police shot him dead!
The book said that neither Ponyboy nor Darry realized how badly Sodapop was affected by their fighting! As the middle brother, he couldn't take sides, because he saw both sides!
Thank you for this!! 💚📽🎞💚 I didn't know I was waiting for this for 40yrs, but I knew there had been more to the movie they had shot and not released. And I don't know why, b/c THIS ties a bow on the end of the movie. The story IS about the brothers. The way they finalized it, it was more about Pony, Johnny, and Dally. I did always feel like the movie didn't have a real ending. This needs to be added back to the final, for a remastered and complete movie.
i hate how the extended version isnt just the original, the original switches from subject to subject so fast and skipped a lot of major things in the book. They didn't have the scene where pony gets jumped yet he has the scar the whole movie, when dally dies they immediatley switch to pony at his desk all okay, which just didn't make sense. watching this clears everything up i wish this was just the original movie
Matt Dillon being shot was actually different than anyone ever getting shot. When he does this acting with putting his finger up like ‘Wait a minute’ then ok start shooting again. Lol Only MATT can pull that off. 💕💕💕 But He was only being cool while being shot.
Matt Dillon's character, Dallas Winston, was in jail when he was only 10, and being in and out of prison "hardened" him! Johnny was the only person he ever loved, and after he died, he had nothing! The gun was empty, but the police couldn't be expected to know that, and that's why he was shot and killed!
I saw the movie, read the book, and even wrote a book report! It was difficult to see, because it was dark outside, but I thought Dallas shot himself, until I later learned that the gun he carried wasn't loaded, but the police didn't know that, and they shot him instead!
the complete novel version is so much easier to understand if youve never read the book. Personally, I read the book first and then watching the regular version and then i watched the complete novel version and the complete novel version is so much better for people who have never read the book. If you havent watched the movie yet, I would suggest reading the book first and then the movie. It's a lot easier to understand if youve already read the book. However, If you decide to watch the mopvie first and then read the book, the movie will take more of an emotional toll on you not knowing what it going to happen. TW: the sotry doesnt have a happy ending I wrote this rly late so theres prob mamny typos
Cream soda and pop sickle, along with dally hoop, and marshmallow bumperskin were really upset when one of their own went down. Cotton candy and junior mint were also distraught, some even melted their chocolate coatings. But the worst was rolo and sour tart, they never recovered.
Soda pop and Ponyboy a long with Darry and Steve were really upset when one of their own went down. Tim and two bit were also distraught, some even broke down. But the worst part was Johnny and Dally never recovered.
I remember reading in the book that Sodapop insisted that he dropped out of high school, because he was dumb! He said he really did try, but he had bad grades!
Are there any more deleted scenes with the original soundtrack from this broadcast? Not to be a dick or anything but if there are, can you upload them?
My recollection is that the extended television cut included at least the original opening scene, in which Ponyboy is jumped by a group of socs. While the poster here dates it to 1991, I'm quite sure that it was first shown on network television in the 1980's -- no later than 1988, and probably earlier.
Don't know what you're talking about but they matched their characters to a T, all of them. Nobody embodied his character more than Dallas did in any other movie. They were actually incredible, and you really should watch the Complete Novel version. The music is different too abd gives the movie a much better feel overall too
The acting was WONDERFUL, and I WISHED this wasn't deleted from the film! Sodapop was being honest with his brothers, and as the middle brother, he couldn't take sides, because he saw both sides!
I love how they run after Soda but not Pony.
Fr like what maybe in the book it explains like how sandy sent back a letter that soda sent to her they prob thought soda was gonna khs
They didn’t want another death 😭😭 they didn’t want it to repeat
@@myalizabeth11 Yeah like Soda would've ran off with Steve and killed a Soc and lit the gas station on fire and then Steve dies. We don't need that.
@@Laila_and_Lyd Or do we?? Maybe that way he would have never gotten into that weird scientology stuff 😆😂

“If we don’t have each other, you end up like Dallas. & I don’t mean dead, I mean how he was before” That’s some real truth
Johnny was the only person Dallas ever loved, and after he died, he didn't want to go on living!
@@LisaKoffler I know this
Joe Whitehead, it's tragic!
@@LisaKoffler I agree
This really should have been included. It rounds out the story, and it helps us see what state Sodapop is in after everything that happened...
These scene were kept in the Complete Novel Version of the film
Literally, Soda’s just recreating what happened with Pony.
I can't believe they cut anything out of this movie
I have seen both versions, because it's my all time favorite movie, the theater cut movie we all have seen is actually much better because in the other version, the music is different in the theatrical scenes,
When dally died I loved how they dragged it out it was so dramatic and when i read the book I almost cried when Johnny died
Johnny was the only person Dallas ever loved, and after he died, he had nothing! I absolutely agreed with Sodapop that he ended up worse than dead before the police shot him dead!
“Damn you guys, leave me out of it!”
Pony and Darry: oop-
😂
😂
😂

That's so me though I'm the middle child it's great but terrible to be tugged back and forth all the time
the court scene is so realistic
When soda yells
Pony and darry: 👁 👄 👁
I live this ending a lot more
I love the relationship between soda and my pony but actually I wish there were more scenes together 🥰🥺🥺🥺🥺💘💘💘
Yesssss

The relationship between Pony and Soda is so nice tbh.
I believe this was the books ending. An it was a rare ending on a special edition to this movie i think...
Never realized how wholesome soda is
It clearly shows with his brand of sensitivity!
Yes
Ponyboy looks so huggable like he looks like he’d be warm and cuddly all the time
This part man 🥺🥺
Wsppp
I think pony boy is a mamas boy
Stay Gold✨🌟💫⚡️✨💪🏼💗

He was pretending he had a Gun. It was suicide by police.

shouldve kept the court scene and soda running out those were both so important
Read this book a bunch of times as a kid here in norway...
I loved Norway. Hope to return. 👍
I love sodapop he was just so emotionally intelligent
Despite bad school grades, he was sensitive and loving, and that's what I loved most about him!
Soda is the best Curtis brother!! He’s awesome!!
I loved him, too!
Two words: ROB LOWE!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I wish this scene made the final cut.
watch the full novel if you want to see the cut out parts
where can i find the full novel?
Amazon prime

the 2005 director's cut is the best
That's real family values right there wow they're a little choked up I have to admit very good scene very good actors
Absolutely! All they had left was each other, and Darry especially loved his brothers more than anything else!
As i middle child this is true of what happens between us but its all with my parents there getting a divorce
I know Dally was bad but the police should go to jail for killing a minor💀
He had a gun, but the police couldn't be expected to know that it was empty!
Someone cuttin' onions in here 🥺
These scenes should have definitely been included. Better ending, Better understanding. What a mistake!!!😢
damn horses are fast
STOP ITT
Pony boy you’re tough baby you’re tough I love you honey you’re tough baby
Why wasn't this in the film.
They should’ve kept it. It’s a pretty big part of the book.
I love them, I love the outsiders and the greasers. My favourite are Johnny and Soda ❤😍
Is there any way to watch this ending on the movie? Does it cost money to buy from Amazon or smth

This scene was in the complete novel lol
i jumped so hard when soda yelled omg

They took this part out of the movie Bsfr 😭
Thanks for the clip.

Hi I have original 1 disc double disc with extra scenes they added back in the film including I have 1990e tv show version on dvd
They cut this because of lowes bad acting.
