There's nothing wrong using female voice especially if Peter needs day off. But I think you have to look for a female voice that's more sound sweet and smart at the time.
I personally like the idea that they have a new person doing the voice ., the information is still the same and so are the visual effects that were watching., there's nothing wrong with adding someone new for A New Perspective and also giving the original voiceover artist a well-deserved break. I wouldn't mind seeing them working in concert on newer projects down the road
