It's hard to wrap my head around the fact Saturn has no solid surface. It's beyond amazing that basically what we know as gases somehow formed into a jumbled ball of chaos. Really mind blowing.
I'd say it does. It's our trying to make a gas giant fit the model of a rocky planet that's getting in the way that's the problem. Gas giant's are completely different animals and need to be respected as such. As any observation of a nebula should show, having all this gas just sitting in a single spot with enough gravity to hold itself together in a sphere without any kind of denser material makes no sense. Gas giants are clearly very massive densely packed rocky planets with massive amounts of lighter gases multitudes their diameter wrapped around them as their atmospheres. What we call their core IS their hard/molten surface. The true core can't even be measured, as the entire rocky body is probably in the same condition. Molten. That's how I choose to look at it.
@@theinsightfulvisionary0197 Thats why he only focused on the Middle East. A small part of a small planet and made no mention of the gigantic universe around us. Makes a lot of sense.
God I love Titan. It’s like one big ball of chemical soup. (Literally - Titan has the same chemicals that were found in Earth’s chemical soup long ago. That’s why scientists consider Titan to be the most likely candidate for extraterrestrial life in our solar system, aside from Jupiter’s moon Europa)
Titan has an atmosphere that is mostly nitrogen and is 1.5 times Earth’s atmospheric pressure. A mixture of ethane and methane is the liquid medium that goes through a process of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation much like water does on Earth. This same ethane methane mixture forms seas and rivers on the surface. Europa has a subsurface ocean beneath an icy crust. It was the discovery of thermal vents at the bottom of Earth’s oceans that could support a living ecosystem completely independent of the sun’s influence that led scientists to believe the same could happen in Europa’s subsurface ocean.
From my understanding, the ice giants, Neptune and Uranus, might actually have something closer to a solid surface, since the pressure wouldn’t be great enough to form metallic hydrogen. 🤔The pressure and heat would obviously make landing impossibly though, would be pitch dark too.
Haven’t been watching your vids in a minute but they’re still very enjoyable. I’d love to ask, what if human society was 1,000 years more advanced today? How different would our world function be? Our views? Daily life?

Okay, Saturn again. To be honest, I don’t quite understand why everyone is talking about this particular gas giant when there is also Jupiter. Is he less interesting? Although for me personally these clumps of gas are not planets at all, how can this even be called a planet? And the video itself is very interesting, I have long wanted to know what will happen to a person if he decides to visit such a planet, and it is very eloquent to prove that these places are really hard to call a planet in the usual sense of the word.🤔
In the usual sense of the word? Well the usual sense is wrong. Planet does not mean solid rocky world and never has. Even if we ignore the current classification (which ‘demoted’ Pluto), it was a term used over two and a half millennia ago to describe the movements of ‘stars’ that didn’t follow the so called fixed stars, but wandered across the sky as observed over time. The word planet means wanderer. Planets don’t wander though: it’s just that when their orbit took them around the far side of the sun as seen from Earth, it looked like they described a loop in the sky. But hey, go ahead and tell astronomers and others they are wrong about what a planet is, and that you think the gas giants should not be called planets. I’m sure they will act on your side advice immediately.
@@ALuimes Whether they are called planets, planetoids, dwarf planets, asteroids, etc, they all orbit the sun. Astronomical classification is for the benefit of astronomy only, and has no effect on the objects they describe. Quite why so may non scientist get upset about it is a mystery.
