For anyone seeing this in the future you can use a can of spray rubber like flex seal/knockoff for the bottom of the bottom and it'll go through sharp rocks and sticks with nothing more than a few scratches and if it ever punctures just spray some more to stop the leak and you'll be all good.
@@joshuawest5967 I found rolls of repair vinyl tape and painting on epoxy seemed to last a lot longer (Amazon has them), the rubber spray works pretty well but you do have to be careful about which brand you use, some of the solvents they use in the cheaper stuff tend to dissolve the vinyl, the knockoff stuff from home depot (HDX brand) seems to not only stick better but also doesn't dissolve the vinyl. I'm going to be making a video in the next couple of days about upgrading the boat. DO NOT USE RUBBER UNDERCOATING!!!
@@GabrieLight I'm just waiting on the last coat to dry, I then just need to finish recording then edit and post. The first 2 coats was sprayed wayyy too thick and was still tacky after 2 weeks so I had to wait until it was fully cured before adding the final coat.
It's really good if you put an old (for comfort) boogy-board in the bottom as a base, you're a bit higher for paddling, adds rigidity, a place for a mount to attach yr drill-press propeller. Don't forget hand line fishing lure, w/proof matches potato and tin foil !! Awesome loved it !! The boogy-board in the bottom really helped me in the ocean
Super excited to take this thing out. Nice video. Didn't think about connecting the two paddles. And now can see this thing can handle some water. Got the boat at Ross for $10. 😁
When I was a kid, I got myself a $15 raft made by puffin. (Now defunct) Best $15 I ever spent. These small inflatable boats are great! I even got a tiny electric motor for it at a yard sale for a buck! It fit into an old gym bag, and that was with the motor and oars and pump. You can go anywhere there is water with one of these. You can have adventures anywhere, I still own a raft. A 12ft intex excursion, but I want a two man as well. Here's to the adventure!👍
Hello bro will it be durable enough?? I mean if I am careful then will it last for 5 years? I am going to buy the intex explorer 300 for using it three days a week Just to relax through a calm river. And if I am careful will it last?? Thanks
Just got this set up but I bought two.. immediately took it to my local honey hole and put it in the water. Wal mart got a portable pump for like 12 bucks that’ll pump it up in about five mins. Can’t wait til warm weather and do some hiking
i took a slightly larger one of these down my local river but there’s a sharp zig zag and if you don’t row fast enough you get sucked under some trees hanging over the water and potentially get trapped. i found that out the hard way so anyone out there who wants to go rafting, check all the way down the river before you go down it
Dude that is absolutely crazy because i am watching this to see how these rafts are, and my first spot was lake Granby Colorado. I love Colorado lakes. Like Georgetown and sweetwater. 😎
Nah, these boats work much better with oars. With a kayak paddle (or just a single paddle) the boat spins too much and you're constantly throwing water into the boat. With oars it stays dry, you can row forwards perfectly straight and quite fast while sitting or lying down (cutting through the wind), you can "change gear" quickly by changing the lever length of the oars, slide them in for quick storage or slide them out to paddle and hook onto the shore.
You guys that use tubes, inflatable rafts and inflatable islands on creeks and rivers...have you ever hit your arse/tailbone on a rock or debris? I want to get one for me and the kids but our river gets to 2'+/- in some spots and I am concerned about hurting our tailbone. I was thinking of placing foam body boards on the raft bottom as a sort of 'arse protector'. Thanks.
Great video! Haha I'm a whitewater kayaker and if you like that stuff you should find a local club! Once you learn how to eskimo roll your kayak you can run any rapids you want- even the Animas at high water or Gore Canyon
Hi chooch do u think u will be reviewing the veteran? Only iv ordered one and I can’t see any reviews on RUclips “out of any on RUclips your the man I would love to see reviewing it Brian UK
If anyone wants something like this that’s slightly better Ozark Trail at Walmart makes a raft that looks like this that’s apparently made of PVC and costs $30. Probably will last a couple months compared to this lasting 1 week.

Discover Health Yeah, I own one of these and at least for me works really well and is durable
Thanks for the review! I've been curious about that cheap little raft. Looks like it could be a lot of fun!
Definitely buying one and putting it in the pond right behind my house that legit says, “ no vessels allowed”

Thanks for the review, I bought these for my kids to do creek floating. I hope they have as much fun as you did!!!!
I will forever remember this best $20 ever spent
Gorilla tape on the bottom and youll have it for a whole season ahah. Ive bought one a summer for the last like 16 years lol
That impact driver motor is awesome! Can't wait for that video!
Just purchased two of these rafts based off your recommendation. A friend and I are going to cruise down the Mississippi River. Thanks!
Good luck
Hello is it durable enough?? I am going to buy the explorer 300
I about died on the lake lol yall are crazy. I used a random ore though and my cheap life vest made it harder. Was just fishing
Now that looked like a lot of fun, not easy though. looking forward to seeing the lake motor test...
I want to take it backpacking.. what's the weight of the boat?
God damn it I could swear the price doubled this past week. Do you need thr pump or will a bike pump work?

Dude you are crazy great thanks for the fun video Aldi has it starting 6/21 for 14.99
My floor have a hole in it. Should I patch it or is it safe to have the floor deflated?
Patch it. Inflatable rafts need everything to be inflated, or water will leak in and it will sink
they're on ebay pretty cheap too, with oars and pump! i got mine for $25, and the 300 for $32

yes it hurts badly XD, would be ideal to put boogie boards in there good idea!

how long did it take to pump this with the pump that was included with it?
about 25 mins
@@choochtech I hope you see this before it arrives, do you have to plug in the pump or does it have a battery?
@@jocelynnicole5973 It a mechanical pump silly
Does the short paddle get water inside the boat?
No. First wave would swamp it. Rapids like this move fast, but don't really have waves.
I have this boat as well, it's nice. Awesome videos, I live in Commerce City by you, sporting the Inmotion V8 still :).
Is it puncture proof??
Where in Colorado is this ?
Haha you're totally not supposed to do that with it but you owned it
Yeah, bit different to the pictures on the box! lol
$4.99 clearance at Aldi today.
what is the river?
Why didnt I think of the paddle option! That is great!
