0:55 This Jiyan sequence reveals so much, ground to air launchers, air combos, ground juggles, and most exciting of all for me, grapples. The dragon actually "swallows" the enemy and drags him around before dunking him. I'm so hyped to have a character that can grapple, slam, and throw enemies and this shows that engine is at least prepared for such a character.
Also 1:09 it appears that possibly character switching while the target is downed will lead to a ground pound switch. This could be the standard way characters switch with attacks, but it would be awesome if you get different combo switches depending on the targets location and condition. Comparing 1:09 to 1:13 to 1:19 to 1:22. Of course, that's too many characters for a team so there's some trailer magic going on, but still. Possibilities it presents.
Big fan of PGR and WW but you keep your expectations in check because ultimately the combat is still only 3 buttons, basic attack, skill, and ult.
Some guy came into the PGR subreddit the other day expecting DMC level of combos so I want people to keep their expectations in check

Yes! Mechanically challenging games are a niche that I hope they do not abandon in order to widen out. If they can balance a "skill issue" friendly option (like what FFXVI actually looks like it might do well), then that is fine with me. I do not need a gate keep, as long as it doesn't water down the experience for the challenge niche. Other than that, it will naturally have a smaller audience than easier games that just require powerful characters and thumbs.

Elden Ring captured the whole niche, which is what I hope WW does, rather than water it down to widen the scope.

what I find annoying about these games is the amount of female characters, with very few male characters .. but I will test.

While we have a bunch of open world mobile games, i believe Wuthering Waves will be the first to maximize the potential of what mobile games can do in terms of action combat.
I'm excited to play and especially try the combat. Combat is what make me love and stay in PGR since global launch. I do believe AND hope for Wuthering Waves to do the same.

No it won't. Because it's open world. There's a thing called load capacity, especially when you have to cater to mobile devices. If you want the best gameplay, it's arena ARPGs like PGR.
@DHG Quivery Unfortunately you're right. We shouldn't get our hopes up too high for mobile. It could end up having a lot of flaws.
Also, it's important to mention that the graphics shown in this trailer are probably going to shoot your battery, so yea. There's probably a setting to lower it but I also want to see the game at its best.

@@mleong75 It's best to stick to PC if that's the case. People with high-end phones would have no problem with this. I doubt the quality of combat would degrade for mobile.
@@Username-qu1jt It already has if you look at the gameplay trailers, especially the 11min vid on IGN. Nowhere close to PGR's combat. Catering for mobile is a huge limitation. The highest spec phone today can't be compared to a PC at all.

Kuro games combat is something else
I'm excited for this game to be playable on both mobile and pc 🤗 The gameplay and upcoming additional features would be part of the reason of why majority of players won't get tired of playing this. Aside from the story, we can wait for a decent time especially if we'll be having multiple game modes aside from just farming nonstop 🤗 I'm willing to remove my other games for Wuthering Waves 😁

the combat seems to be a skill dependent fights don't last 30 seconds, where you really need to play - this is a significant plus for me. Visually, the game looks more Adult, serious, although in anime style - also a plus for me.
P.S. there are old anime that really competed with the genre of full-length films with a visual and a serious plot (I practically stopped watching this genre, because of the ostentation, and an increasing emphasis on the children's audience with screams and antics), but now there is practically no such thing, or maybe not practically. But this game creates the feeling of those old, classic, high-quality anime, I hope this opinion is not mistaken. And yes, I really liked the music on the official website.

Kuro's the 1st big gacha dev to officially have a mature looking male model in their game. A big W for that. Mature men get slept hard on anime games, thinking they won't sell well. A big headstart on character variety vs mihoyo with only pretty boys

This is the 2nd time I'm seeing a guy like this in a non dbz gacha game. There's a big demographic for people who like characters like these and people are willing to pay for them too but they gotta stop making pretty boys left and right. Even archer and gilgamesh classify as pretty boys to a certain extent. Guys like Alexander and Hercules stand out among them because they are the actual men characters and I'm not saying that you necessarily gotta be as big and bulky as them to pull of that look. Being as big and tall as goku is also enough to pull of that look too

If i expand the criteria again, mature men like your first comment, it will become even more... orion, li shuwen, king hasan, moriarty, etc. And they're quite popular in community. Fgo is known to have diverse character designs, not to mention gbf. While in AK, i kinda agree it's not that much, but it still exists.
Kuro Games just KNOWS how to make combat engaging and fun. No mobile game will stand a chance, the level at which Kuro cares about their player base is unrivaled.
Agreed. Such a rare combination to be honest. Moreso in the gacha gaming industry. They don't compromise the game mechanics and content but they seem to respect players more with relatively fair monetization and active communication as well compared to some companies I know.
What I'm worried is if they get big, hope they don't forget their roots.

Even as a Genshin fan and active player, I am looking forward to this game. There is plenty of room in the gaming market and particularly in this genre for more good anime ARPG’s. Playing both Genshin or Wurthering Waves doesn’t have to be a choice between one or the other, they can both be enjoyed at same time. Hoping for WW’s success. 😁👍
