I have the Team Durango DEX8 Buggy and the DEX8T Truggy. They have nice milled aluminum parts and titanium turnbuckles to save weight and they are strong. The chassis and shock towers had some very nice milling.
I built up a Typhon TLR with a Castle system, Futaba radio and Savox servo. Designed it for 4S and I love the hell out of it. One of my favorite RC's and it's not even close. For tires I added the Proline Badlands and that was a huge difference.
I actually race mine with a HW XERUN XR8 G3 + 4268SD 1900KV G3 motor combo on 16T and shaved off about 2lbs (now weighs 8lbs+ total) and it's competitive in regional A-Mains. Had two sponsored drivers for JConcepts and AE take it for a spin and it was only about 0.5 second behind their AE RC8B4e on average.
My son and I were just watching your video and had a "well duh" moment. We run the typhon on 50 or 75% power because 6s is just a little much. It only makes sense to run it on 4s and save weight and have the right level of power. We can't wait to get back out there with the Typhon on 4s. First we have to wait for the new tires to arrive. Someone (the smaller one) may have blown a tire off earlier today. Thanks for your videos!
This car I have been debating on buying. Should’ve got it during its sale recently but just not completely sold yet. Hopefully it goes on sale again soon.
Ouch that hurt buddy nailed you , hope your leg is ok dude . I use my TLR on 4s with a hobbywing max8 G2 esc and a 4268 2500 kv combo currently have it on a 19t pinion and it flys to be fair . Feels planted Only mod I’ve done so fair is a vitavon differential case on the rear Awesome buggy
They do a hobbywing max8 4268 2500kv combo now, and maybe that's a great fit for racing this on 4s. Shorter motor length may improve, handerling even more.
@@keldonator Yes stock electronics. I do have fans on the motor. If it's 85° or higher it will start to get a little warm. Have to take a break every 10 minutes or so and let it cool down for a couple minutes. Remember your temp gun and keep an eye on it. Based off speed test videos I've seen it should be doing around 50 mph.
Wow man! You can definitely see the difference with 4s! It does look very stable both on the dirt and in the air! Thanks for that Razor… I got some changes I gotta make to my Typhon now! … 😅🤙🏽
Better than the corally spark? Seems that becasuse it is based on the Durango race buggies its was designed to handle on 4s. Seems the spark is better handling on 6s?
Love your vid's Razor ..Just a suggestion, I've noticed your GoPro seems pointed up at the sky a bit much and we miss the action as it gets closer to you and I was wondering if it'd be worth tilting it down a bit? Love the channel and all you do for RC mate..
Great job. I like how you shared the history of the Typhon. You have great driving skill and the Typhon performed like a champ on 4s. Probably holds up better as well. Plenty fast ! 👍 I could have sworn I subbed to your channel. Do you have multiple channels?
you put the electronics in yourself because you got the TLR roller chassis version didn't you , so did you put a slower servo in on purpose , or did you just use all the electronics including the servo from just another bog standard ARRMA RC 🤔 .
The diffs are junk on this rig..Mine blew on first run 4s running max 8 and hobbystar 2650kv motor..I was running super grippy tires on grippy terrain tho
Would i buy a RTR ARRMA ? , NO , there are suspect unresolved problems and issues with their current RTR run RC'S . Also you are overpayiing without getting the quality deserved at their price point .
@@RazorRCDeuce that is the best option to buy an ARRMA roller chassis , accept there's only really two or three roller chassis at most from ARMMA or possibly only two at this moment in time 🤔 . BUT their plastics aren't as robust are they as say the new CORALLY SPARK XB6 6S , or even the HoBao hyper VS2 are they ? 🤔 .

Have had the TLR typhon for 3 yrs now. Love it on 4S and 6S set to 75% . Its been great as a basher and a racer.

It makes a difference on this buggy for sure. Also fits better in the battery tray.
This car I have been debating on buying. Should’ve got it during its sale recently but just not completely sold yet. Hopefully it goes on sale again soon.
I wasn't too sure either, but it was a really good price and I figured it would make a nice comparison with the Losi and Corally buggies.

Awesome buggy
Same exact setup on mine, except for the diff case. I dont feel the need to go 6s on it.
nice combo! my leg is good, thanks!
How fast are your u getting it on 4s with that setup? Any issues with heat?
They do a hobbywing max8 4268 2500kv combo now, and maybe that's a great fit for racing this on 4s. Shorter motor length may improve, handerling even more.
That hit deserved a sub! 😁👍
haha, thanks!
I run my typhon V5 on 4S mostly. 20 tooth pinion with punch level 7. Absolutely rips. Nice vid. Subbed.
thank you!
Is that with the 150amp esc? Any heat issues? Do you know top speed? I'm thinking about doing this also

Exact same setup in my Typhon. 4s is plenty.
@@TheflyingkiwiRC I finally got mine and I couldn't imagine it on anything less than 6s now lol. I'm using a 17t pinion though
TEAM DURANGO!!
Imo 4s is absolutely the way, anything more and you might as well put focus into speed runs
Wow man! You can definitely see the difference with 4s! It does look very stable both on the dirt and in the air! Thanks for that Razor… I got some changes I gotta make to my Typhon now! … 😅🤙🏽
I’m running a Team Corally Python on 4s with Arrma motor and esc. Its brilliant. Great video and great place for the buggy
Nice 👍

I'm not sure yet, the Spark feels heavier and less compliant, but I'm running the stiffer springs. the TLR has really good suspension.
Razer taking one for the team!! 😮
Sanctioned 8th scale racing uses 4s, that's what they are intended to run with. In my tlr 8ight I only do street stuff with 6s.
Ouch! That hit looked dead center man lol. The Typhon has been on my list for a while, looks reeeal good doin its thing.
Team Durango DNX8 / DEX8 the Typhon TLR is the same buggy lol.got them all, I class it as an entry level race buggy.
Didn't know you had a second channel, you should promise it a little more on your main channel
Haha, yeah I should!

Yeah it was accidentally up a bit in this one and the last one. Should be better in the last video or two.
I've been saying it for ever. 4s is the sweet spot with the Typhon. 20t pinion and 4s it bloody screams. 6s is way over powered and just shreds tyres
I'm sure you have said it in one of your videos but what park is that?
Great job. I like how you shared the history of the Typhon. You have great driving skill and the Typhon performed like a champ on 4s. Probably holds up better as well. Plenty fast ! 👍 I could have sworn I subbed to your channel. Do you have multiple channels?
Thanks, yup, two channels! This one is for less mainstream content.
Stay safe!
thanks!
Nice run dude looks stable too 🤙🏼quick question what action camera are you using?
Drives great. I'm using a Gopro hero 13
Would you rate the TLR Typhon over the MP10e rtr ?
For bashing, yes. For racing, not sure.
Hey . Do You think the Fireteam works good on 4s to?
Honestly, I've never tried it.
@@RazorRCDeuce thanks. Stay on . Great Videos.
I put a set of team associated shocks on my tlr typhoon

I wanted to test what the RTR was like so put in same everything
I still think the Eb48 2.1 or the MBX8R Eco are the best 1/8 «race bread» bashers
Maybe. I had an EB48 2.0 and I have an MBX5 nitro. They're quality products for sure.
The diffs are junk on this rig..Mine blew on first run 4s running max 8 and hobbystar 2650kv motor..I was running super grippy tires on grippy terrain tho
Proper hit😅 its flying more level tho on 4s
I have an XB8 that likes 4s and 2350kv better than 6s and 1700kv. I can be faster and have more control than 6s.
Would i buy a RTR ARRMA ? , NO , there are suspect unresolved problems and issues with their current RTR run RC'S . Also you are overpayiing without getting the quality deserved at their price point .
I got my TLR Typhon roller on sale for $350, it was a pretty good deal.
