Just listen to that sweet sound.....the uber-talented wizard of the slide guitar: Mr. Pete Haycock, founding member of the original (real) Climax Blues Band! This is how guitar is supposed to be played, ladies and gentlemen, and accept no substitutes.... What a gift, and a truly-gifted gent!
Thanks for posting this clip. The guitarist featured here is the incomparable and supremely-gifted Pete Haycock, from his days with Climax Blues Band. Pete is perhaps the greatest living slide guitarist and an amazing blues performer. After many years of studio work and film soundtracks, Pete is back on the road with his new band, Pete Haycock's True Blues (featuring Glen Turner -- another splendid guitarist), and their new Live CD is amazing! Available at RMI Sound website -- rock on, Pete!
Great to see some live footage of Pete and the Band! This was uploaded in 2009 and I'm surprised no one pointed out that the clip begins with Country Hat and finishes with Come On Into My Kitchen.
Awe man, I thought I was good. My mama said I was good!! This feller just hurt my feelins. I think I will have him do that again!!! Soulful and Righteous!!!!
Brings back great memories - Guildford Civic/University - Hammersmith - Colin Coopers sax & gravel voice on 7th Son - awesome. The music is still being kept alive by the current members - check out their website
@@henryroot66 There are some video's of them (Derek Holt) playing in the "Grapes" in Stafford. See below; note the sound recording is not great. ruclips.net/video/SXsiCRF8_rw/видео.html Bands web site. climaxbluesband.com/

Who IS this fellow???...killer slide and great tune from non other than Robert Johnson! This song is the absolute mortal Nuts!...take it from an electric guitarist from the 50s
I'm trying to figure out where is the lead singer who sung "i love you"...I know this is the guitarist in that video I saw but where is that lead singer that was on the piano singing that song "I love you"??
@soundspur you could do no better than to learn pickin and sliding from Pete Haycock !! This genius has one hell of a resume.. Check it out at Pete Haycock dot com.
Climax one of the best live performances I’ve ever witnessed in 1975 in Idaho. Pete played his gold plated guitar. Way ahead of his time
This was a GREAT BRITISH BLUES BAND! Haycocks slide work is as good as anyones!
As well as Derek Trucks but tbh Haycock was a more versatile guitar player imo
