Do you think Mr. David Abercrombie ever imaged his mansion would end up in this state after his passing? Its sad that people have destroyed something that he probably cherished. I can't imagine how many nights they spent up top just watching the sunset.

Oh, my gosh -- I LOVE this! I've always loved restoring old buildings/homes, etc and bringing life back into them. This structure could TOTALLY be restored and lived in, again (with as much of the woodwork, beams, metal steps and stone as possible kept intact) -- if a person with the needed resources was behind it. What's its current status, if you know? Is it for sale?

Amazing place and would be nice if it could be renovated and brought back to life. Have seen so many buildings like this that are left to rot away as no one wants to spend the money to restore buildings like this. I do wish that vandals would stop defacing walls and rendering a building like this to trash and have no respect for someones else property. Oh, I don't know. I don't think it's that bad. I've seen gutted castles restored. Brick and stone walled buildings usually retain their structural soundness even after a fire consumes the wood parts. It looks like there is still a good portion of meat there. If someone could get a grant from a govt. historic agency, it might be doable. I grant you I haven't seen it firsthand, but it's way too epic to see a wrecking ball. Anyhow, great vid!
