Marine Georgie Sparks, one of the guys in the video who passed the commando tests with Williams, also died in Afghanistan in November 2008 after being hit by RPG fire on the roof of a compound. I believe 60 Royal Marines died in total during the Afghan campaign, which means roughly 15 % of the 404 British servicemen who were killed in action. Marine Sparks was only 19 at the time he died.

Great production of our greatest warriors, sworn to protect her Majesty and her government and people. Yet out there protecting freedom and democratise of ordinary people of a country I had to look up when this first started.
And a special thanks to the down-loaders that allowed the list of fallen heroes to show complete without interruption of ads or promotions.
Ffs, the ending made me tear up. I hope James is still ok, I liked all the marines, but he was my favourite.

the father talking about never firing a shot in his 30 plus years in the military, its because his generation is the one sending these young men to war, his own parents knew what war was and spared his generation that nightmare
There was plenty of stuff going on during his father's time, including the very close threat of nuclear armageddon! He just happened to be at sea on ships. Navy personnel on US aircraft carriers and cruisers during Korea, vietnam and desert storm never heard a shot fired either!

my gpa is 2.0, I've already come to terms that I won't go to collage just because I can draw, or because I can write characters and stories, or philosophical poetry. By the time I finish highschool that felid will be too competitive and only the best of the best will be successful. And I don't really think my art or writing or my poetry is enough. I'm thinking of joining the military, at least I'll have food and a purpose.
My GPA is so low its actually sad I want to go to college for culinary.....
You dont need college to be successful. I never went to college and I make more money now than I did in the service. Just remember infantry does not get paid alot unless you are a commanding officer which you need to go to college to be one and all the other top paying occupations in any branch of the military go to the ones who score the highest on the ASVAB test.

In 2006-2007, I suppose. Marine Curry was killed in action on January 13, 2007 according to his obituary at the site of the Ministry of Defence (UK spelling of "Defense").

Almost all militaries now day are just glorified Mercenaries for hire, and throughout the past 2 decades they've been ultimately fighting for corporate interests and for the ill gotten gains of greedy Dictators & Tyrants.
Because they definitely have not been fighting to protect Americans Freedoms or to spread Democracy because our military has spread nothing but death & hatred of the U.S.

@@thetayterminator1436 I wonder if those who call professional soldiers "mercenaries" would rather go back to the old days of conscription or the draft. A professional, volunteer army is a career like any other. Different people might join it for different reasons, but, whatever their reasons are, it is preferable to have people who go to war on their own free will and fully understanding the risks than people who are forced to do it (like in Vietnam) because they have been drafted by their government.
@@BucyKalman ok I remember going through a bit of a phase 3 years ago, but wtf I DO NOT Remember posting that, nor do I agree with it today.
I know that there is a strong volunteer army right now fighting in Ukrainian and there was also one fighting with the Kurdish YPG against ISIS and in Both cases the International Volunteers have done and continue to do some very amazing and inspirational things.
I don't remember writing that, especially the part about "Spreading nothing but death and hate for the US" but if I did write it, then I wasn't talking about volunteer soldiers.
I remember back then going down lots of rabbit holes and watching videos and reading things about how Corporations in the US (Oil, Mining, Finance etc… ) have used the United States Military or Military Contractors or both to put pressure on, and even helped replace foreign Governments in order to secure Drilling or Mining rights for the US Corporations.
But since then I've more or less come to the realization that this is the way the world works, we probably will never see an actual utopian country let alone a City, at least not in our lifetime. If it wasn't the US then it would just be China or some Country in Europe.
I guess when your younger you really want the world to be a better place and you can feel really passionate about those things.
That whole conflict was a waste of time money and lives.

no 6 originals meaning 6 people that started out the training and went thru it without any injuries. The rest that made it is not origionals meaning they have had some sort of injury and came back to training with another class. They even say it if you actually listen.

You're in the middle of a fight and one of your guys is killed and his face is caved in, you dont want your other men to see that and by chance theres a dead tally with a scarf.. id do the same and would hope someone would do that for me.

I think politicians who had not been to war themselves or have close family members who are in the military should not be allowed to send troops to foreign wars.
@@dadt8009 From 2001 until 2014 (when ISAF's mission was handed over to Afghan National Army), the United KIngdom had 3 Prime Ministers: Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, and David Cameron. The US had two Presidents in the same period: George W Bush and Barack H Obama. None of them meet your criteria as far as I know.
