- The National Keratoconus Foundation (NKCF) welcomes Dr. Bala Ambati MD, PhD, MBA company co-founder of iVeena Delivery Systems and research professor at the Univ. of Oregon Knight Campus, to be our guest speaker at the final webinar of the 2021-22 series.
Dr. Ambati presents an update on NIH-supported research still in early clinical trials. iVeena, based in Salt Lake City, is developing a pharmaceutical intervention that stiffens and stabilizes corneal collagen: in effect, crosslinking for keratoconus using eye drops. Join us for an interesting discussion on keratoconus research.

It is almost 1 year since Glaukos licensed Ivmed-80, so far nothing; not even a mention on their website. Just hope they have not killed it. Does it compete with other programs in their lucrative pipeline?
Glaukos will have to compete with stem cell therapies already in phase 2 trials.
this should be take time in the future and hopefully be available by 2027🙏

OH Thank you God. I would like for my son to be considered for trials here in Houston. He was diagnosed back in 2005. It has been very difficult for him. He is 42.

2027 its way too much time! I have been reading researches about flatting cornea for kc since many years but research and investment on the disease is soooooooo low (not like HIV or cancer) that the way of treatment has not changed in like 30 years. Also the disease has the stigma of a rare disease which till last years doctors and labs have found is not rare at all. Countries like India has a 4% kc in population, that's Huge!!!!!!. Anyway, hope more labs and people invest in a cure cause the way this disease treatments do very few to improve the quality of life of its patients.
