Thanks for the kind words. Most of the nature footage in this is actually public domain stock footage that was free to use, but all the instrumental video material in this was recorded by myself. I generally try to use my own environmental footage but end up using a mix of licensed stock footage, some collaborater footage along with my own. Thanks for watching.
Man I'm a sucker for those bass notes. Seems like a ton of dissonance (which I love). This was really, really good. Love the cinematics and style. Superb job!! I aspire to this level of video.
Thank you so much, Joe! This piece has such an interesting mood. It's somehow both soothing and slightly eerie. Thanks so much for the kind comments on the visuals and the music. I put a lot of effort into this video and I'm really glad you enjoyed it. :)
1:35 is really cool with those high notes! Did you take that sunset time-lapse yourself ? I can tell you put a lot of effort into it. Seems like other commenters agree! I agree it's soothing and eerie simultaneously. It's a really cool song with these great silent-breaks in there as well. And no need to thank me for the kind words, you earned them!
Hey everyone. I don't know how it happened, but my original upload of this video was deleted without my permission. Still trying to figure out the issue, but unfortunately I had to upload a fresh copy because RUclips will not restore the original. Thanks again for all your kind words and support.
Sorry about the original upload but I think I can paraphrase what I said last time: "I loved when everything came together in the intro 0:07 and that piano solo was nice. Maybe you should make an album containing every hour XD".
That's super annoying that the original video was just taken down by RUclips (or whoever deleted it) with no warning and no reasons given. Still love this cover though!
Thank you so much! Ah hahaha honestly I'll take it. It's one of the highest viewed videos on my channel and easily the highest viewed AC video I've done. Maybe one day it will get there. In the meantime, I'm glad to have people like you say such kind things. Thanks again! ❤️
TheSheepyPanda Thank you for the kind words. loved your remix. Just listened to it and subbed. I love how different our arrangments are. It's great that the music of animal crossing is so fluid and maliable. It's really great to hear your approach as well.
It was my first time trying to remix a song, and I had a hard time finding a way to make any changes besides instruments without feeling like I was departing too much from the original. It's very interesting how different it sounds with just instruments, panning, and dynamics changed. I really like the way yours sounds, so your compliment really means a lot. Thanks.
Rewatching all your animal crossing covers after your most current video and I forgot how beautifully executed this one is. So so so we’ll done it’s beautiful!
This is phenomenal! I especially loved the parts with the leading notes of the melodica and then the bass and piano dropping in shortly afterwards. It sounds so damn beautiful!
Thank you so much, Joe. It was a great learning experience working on this arrangment. Animal Crossing utilizes so many subtle musical ideas, and it was great to put my own spin on it. Thanks for the lovely comments. :)
Very Underrated! Love this cover! Another comment said: "The cover that was _too_ good for RUclips." You really did a nice job on this, though. The video editing, everything. The cover is beautiful! I know this was a long time ago. But really good job!!
Ahh thank you so much! Haha that's right. The original video of this was somehow deleted and I never figured out how. So glad it still ended up reaching people. Thank you again for the kind words.
I'm doing a 365 Days of Music challenge, and I picked this for Day 204! Thought I'd share the piece I wrote on it here: **Day 204:** "Animal Crossing: New Leaf ~ 7PM (Cover)" One of favorite hourly themes in New Leaf and in the whole series. It's incredibly simple. Some repeating piano notes, a short riff near the start, some pauses...but the music is so deep and simple and tranquil. Feels like floating. I shared Mindy Gledhill's "Little Red Bike" several weeks ago, and I mentioned that it reminded me of New Leaf. This must be why. The dreamlike, repetitive, almost cinematic piano sounds very similar in both tracks. Try listening to both back to back! There really has never been an AC hourly theme like this. I don't know if there ever will be again. After all, it'll be hard to match this feeling of the passage of time, the creation of nostalgia, and the glory of the sun doing its colorful last bits of setting for the day as night arrives. Daniel Capo, of course, does a wonderful job staying true to the piece's original arrangement while making it sound deeper and richer. The nature sounds accompanying it really make this an immersive listening experience. And the end bit...so nice! So conclusive and gentle as it winds down. Capo does very well at adding material that sounds like it was always there in the original. He'd be a fantastic choice to hire for a cinematic reinterpretation of an AC theme for a short film or animation piece. I can imagine it so clearly in my mind -- no characters, no dialogue...just the sun setting and AC's colorful environment on show in gorgeous 2D animation. Leaves coasting through the river, petals flying through the wind, flowers waving in the breeze...the sky a gorgeous deep-pink and purple hue. So much comes to mind despite there really not being a whole lot going on in the music. Indeed, 7PM is a gorgeous piece of music despite its simplicity -- nay, *because* of its simplicity.
That is a shame what happened with your original! I came here to comment again because your video is great! :) I hope you don't feel desapointed with these wierd stuff that happens on YT sometimes. Keep going with the great work!! ^^
Hahaha thank you! Not yet! I'm been working on remastering some of these and releasing them on Spotify and other platforms. I will absolutely post about when I do!
The cover that was _too good for RUclips_
Hahahhahaa thanks man.
That is some sick cinematography

Holy shit. This tops my remix in literally every way I can think of. This retains the magical, dreamy quality that the original song had. Amazing work
