It's baffling to me how not more people know about these channels. Friends from Thailand and Opals story need more recognition due to the fact that its their home and they have a lot more knowledge of amazing places than transplants that vlog there. No offense to Retired working for you who I also got a lot of information from among others but support these local creators! Thank you FFT!

Amphawa is a nice place to spend the weekend, contrary to what you say the Amphawa market is only open from Friday to Sunday. On the other hand, we cannot really say that Amphawa is a floating market because all the merchants' stalls are on the side of the canal and not on boats. You can take a boat to stroll on the canals, however there is no point in taking a boat in the evening to go see the fireflies because it is far away, you cannot see the landscapes because it is dark and in fact there is not much to see. On the other hand, early in the morning you have to go see the monks by boat going to do Tak Ba. For me the Damoen Saduak floating market is just a tourist trap because it was designed for that, there is nothing authentic about it unlike the few floating markets which are located a few kilometers from Amphawa and which are authentic. Please note, it is better to book your hotel in advance because Amphawa is very popular with Thais from Bangkok who come to spend the weekend there.

Hi, regarding night boat ride at Amphawa, do one get a chance to see the fireflies actually or it's down to pure luck and you may end up not seeing anything. I'd like to make sure such trip is worth it. Thanks

    • @sohoskydive

@@gbdr_ps_fan8656 Yes we see some but for me it is not worth the trip: seeing a few points of light in the trees. I had more fun when I was a child and I went to collect fireflies near my house! For me it is better to take a daytime stroll on the canals to see the landscapes and the daily life of the Thais. On the other hand, you have to go early in the morning to see the monks by boat for Tak Ba (I think it's around 5:30 a.m.). Ask your hotel, they will inform you ruclips.net/video/oY_D6foWICQ/видео.html

Very good information about amphawa. I was now many times there. I always take the public transport in the morning to the talat rom hub and from there by songthaew to amphawa. But to get back to Bangkok is always a problem. How do you get with public transport back to bangkok from amphawa ?

I actually love love love all of what they are telling us about their culture and country. Their English is very good and makes you concentrate on what they are saying. Listen and learn. !!! Then enjoy.
