I grew up with the Nintendo Game & Watch as my very first gaming device and a portable one at that. It blossomed into the Nintendo NES so to me it was Nintendo instead of Atari who started me on the videogame hobby. After several iterations of the Nintendo, Playstation and Xbox (and a portable Sega Gamegear) it was the PC that saw me through my gaming years from 1996 until now. Gaming has always been seen as a childish pursuit back in the old days but now it has developed into a multi=million industry which has no age limits and can be simple as a flash game on a mobile phone to the latest and greatest in a high-end gaming PC. It is definitely one of the most enduring forms of entertainment easily eclipsing movies and music due to it being an interactive form of entertainment.

He's cool but not the best
I saw this on Netflix a few years ago. I always thought it was such a good documentary with fantastic editing and very interesting information. Thanks for uploading it on RUclips!
Thank you! (this is the Director Jeremy Snead commenting). :)
I watched this documentary when I was 15 and was fascinated by the games industry and now almost 10 years later , I'm entering my last year of uni studying games art and design , and will hopefully be getting into the industry myself soon,
Excellent! Go for it! You can do it.
Netflix need to get this again, they should have a longer deal for it. Edit: Thanks for posting this you just made this documentary more popular than ever.
This was truly an amazing film and is such a great way express love for video games. Everyone who put effort into this did an awesome job
Thank you so much (this is the director Jeremy Snead commenting)

😂
Dlc in a nutshell these days... you're not allowed to have a life anymore...
April 21st specifically
I thought this was an animated movie of videogames
But overall, this would be something I would actually watch in a Movie Theater
A Documental about videogame development and their characteristics that makes them great it’s charming to watch
And thanks to this, I can see all the challenges that the developers of my favorites games had to pass by for creating a masterpiece
Thanks for creating this documental, it’s great for starter developers who wants to make a decent game on Steam
I watched this movie almost weekly during 2016 it was really influential towards my love towards video games. Thank you for this, it formed a huge chunk of me. I may not watch it weekly now but I still love coming back to it often. :)
Man so many of my favorite Arcade Games now in a Movie thanks for making this Movie Mediajuice Studios
Karens: *Im gonna pretend that I didnt see that*

2020 THE FUTURE OF VIDEO GAMES
Volume is way too low. Had to turn up my system quite a bit whereas most youtube videos I've had to turn it down 50%
Yeah what is with that? Slick production but some really low volume? I am guessing it was to fo with how it was uploaded to you tube.
Yes, we've seen this comment from a few other users. It appears RUclipss encoding algorithim has caused this after we uploaded our h264 quicktime render of the film. Working to resolve this now (hopefully).
@@mediajuice how you doin on that 7 months later still super quiet.
I don’t know why but this movie has stuck with me for like ten years (mostly the songs in it but still). Crazy how much of this movie I still remember
Finally I find a good long RUclips video without ads.
Wait.... this IS an ad! BEST AD EVER!!!
Seriously though, really good job on this though you don't need me to tell you that. Very enjoyable.
What a fantastic tribute to this form of art that I personally love, thank very much, for this movie.
Wow, way to turn something fun into a documentary
Jacky pan thanks! So glad you’re enjoying it. Subscribe & share if you like it! 😊😘
You should know the history of any hobby you take up....
Way to sport ignorance over knowledge....

I think you might have gotten the wrong idea. I don’t think the dude said it in a negative way.
Seems like everyone in the comments wanted to watch a hardcore version of wreck it Ralph lol.
Yeah what’s that about 😂
Finally! The one and only youtube ad I am actually excited to watch.
Yayyy! Thanks for watching :)
I must have watched this documentary at least 50 times when I was 7, and it still held up. Thanks for turning me into the absolute gaming nerd that I am today, both modern and retro.
Am I the only one here who used to play qbert, modnation racers, angry birds, super Mario 64 and undertale?
Pretty sure a lot of people played those super popular games.....
Of course you aren't
Why the hell are the birds angry
The don’t stop me now thing at the beginning would’ve been better if it included TF2, it’s just a fact
Agreed
Blu Arrow
Xenoblade, Kirby, Halo, and the Mother series also would've been really fitting.
I actually enjoyed this movie as I enter the gaming world with a little more interest.. In a different stage of my life ✨✨
This is from 2014 and I watched it on Netflix when it first came out when I was 10. Then I bought it via Google Play around 2015 and in 2018 or so it disappeared from any digital stores. Now it resurfaces--uploaded by the studio because of some sort of copyright dispute presumably. That said, I'm so happy its here.
Hi there! (this is the Director Jeremy Snead commenting). I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed my film. It was such a journey making it and we've recieved so much positive feedback from people just like you over the years. Hopefully the film goes on to live for many years. We'll most likely be doing some sequels as well (and be on the look out for our upcoming Nintendo docu series!)
I bought this from a family video store years ago really enjoyed it
@@casual_dropoutyt2912 oh yeah I remember seeing a physical copy at a Family Video a while ago. Wish I could get my hands on a Blu-ray or something--but having it on RUclips is the next best thing
I was born in 1970, my first video game was Pong in '79. This is such a trip down memory lane... We've come a long way in a short time indeed.
I highly recommend adding Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" to your GTA user tracklist. There is no better song to start playing on the radio when engaged in a bit of high-speed ultra-violence.
hahah YES!
