  • China's Long March 4C rocket launched the Shiyan-23 satellite from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on May 12, 2024.
    The rocket sheds insulation tiles during launch, a normal occurrence.

      No. They are designed to be left behind. They aren't needed after the engines start and pose no risk. They are not like the re-entry tiles that gave way on Challenger.

High prices would be fine if American workers got the work, but we have high prices and Americans aren't getting the work. We need our steel manufacturers back and our manufacturing here instead of just dishing out money and getting nothing in return.

      Would suggest you do some research why these tiles fell off upon launching. Wouldn't hurt since you are obviously new to the field of aerospace engineering.
