I miss fishing in Colorado where I grew up. Every so often I watch a RUclips fishing video. I must say this was pretty fun to watch. I'm old school but.... that's a bad ass fishing pole😂
First time I've watched you. Not too shabby young man. Just the fact that you took a jet ski to Catalina is insane to me🤦🏻. I've been fishing out of Newport Landing and Davey's Locker many times and gone to Catalina. Those cattle boats are slow. 🇺🇸👍🏻🇺🇸
I'm your dad's age and I'd go with you on a day trip with you in a second. Surprised no one went with you. I've never seen the water as calm from SP to Catalina. Could have been fun.
I did the Jet Ski to Catalina excursion a few years back. It was awesome. I'm looking to do it again, which is why I landed on your video. Good stuff, man.
Awesome thanks for the content great episode , them mackerel were ginormous oh my gosh those were huge brother those are probably going to be really good if you smoked them but that Rockfish Taco was also delicious after all that riding out there well deserved I'll see you on the next one much support and respect from Monterey California🤙🏻🌊
I caught 22 fish on half day with a 4000 spinning reel at 800 feet…. 16 ounce sinker and doubled up every drop, so I definitely understand wanting to use the electric reel
Amazing vid, thx. Couldn't stop watching. My buddies and I did this one day on his little Boston Whaler with Mahi-Mahi. Then busted out the cigars. Best day ever.
Thats a long way..I heard that Laird Hamilton used to ski doo across the Aliinuihaha channel from Maui to Kawaihae when he was working on Waterworld there...heck of a commute.
Don't ever be hard on yourself for not uploading. That anxiousness of getting a video done can really blur the lines between play and more work on the plate. Either way you may look at it, I love the vids, man! Appreciate your content and hope the creative juices keep flowin'.
I'm so uncoordinated I can barely fish and move around on the Sea Doo Fish Sport I use without feeling like I'm going to fall off, you on the other hand are freaking cooking on one, Awesome video, thanks for sharing!
I've been PWC fishing in SoCal for 10 years and have been out of the sport for a little while. Let's organize a day trip among PWC fishermen and go fish out at The Channel Islands; we can even overnight. My home-base is in Los Angeles, SFV.
You know the largest tiger I have lured in 100 yards off beach was at least 17 ft it went on the surface for a small live macrel fly lined. What if the sea do had blood draining from a yellow tail or yellow fin.
For the rock fish regulations, be careful. To my knowledge, you need to be fishing past the 50 fathom line. There is some areas past the 50 fathom line and its only 250 feet deep for example and you are allowed to fish. There is also area where its well over 300 feet deep but it is not past the 50 fathom line so you are not allowed to rock fish.
Nice Tacos... Salsas from Northgate market are bomb.. I go to the new one in Costa Mesa and Santa Ana. Great stuff.. So whats for drink?.. wheres the Coronas!!!
Always wondered, and not sure if you want to answer, but do you ever carry when you go out? Know it's legal for fishermen in CA so wondering if you take advantage of that.
daang young Broh... you carry that big ol'pan?... aaaand stove? con Tortillas?... 🤣🤣... what else you got there... dishwasher,,, 🤣🤣 >"(((((< excellent vids..
Dude I never thought you would have enough fuel to go to Catalina and back on a tank. Seems pretty far for a seadoo... I dont know much about MPG of those things.
Brih I been thinking of taking my 16 ft inflable heat welded Saturn boat woth aluim floor witch is a beast it can hol a 40 hp outboard more ot has 5 chambers in is very strong my onl fear is a bog ass shark or not knowing how to get back from we’re you left lol lol do you use your gps on your phone tho amd no a shakr can’t take my boat down it has 5 chambers so even is 2 are bitten stil can make it back no problem tho have you seen any bog sharks out there
Dude, don't back off after you hit the fish. Reel and keep pressure after the hook set. You hit the fish a rope the rod back down. Hit the fish and keep the rod tip pressure. Not slingshot a loop down your line with that Strange hook set of yours.
This comment is in support of your use of a Seado, which are often obnoxious around the shores for everyone not on one. Seriously, though a comment to help your numbers.

I hate to be that guy, but taking a sea-doo across the San Pedro Channel is completely idiotic. When something eventually goes wrong, i hope the coast guard bills you for every dime for the rescue, which will definitely be more than the price of a nice boat.
I can't believe how much stuff you can get on that Doo! Wok, portable stove, and all those rods and gear. Really fun video to watch. Nice work!
Thank you!
One of the most unique videos I've seen in a while. Subbed.
Thanks!
Well done kid.. fun to watch.. The doo allows you such great access.. Enjoy..
you are doing what i most likely will never do and i am so diggi’n it. Great adventure
Appreciate the support!
I was kind of having a rough day and your video brought a smile to my face. Looks like so much fun
Glad it did!
That sunfish sighting was a treat.!
Thought it was a shark at first lol

Appreciate that! It is a pretty fast way to get there.
Can't get any fresher than that. Tacos look bomb 🌮💣
That was super relaxing to watch. I haven’t been to the ocean in so long it made me hungry and want to get to the ocean. Thanks for sharing.
Glad to share the experience!
First time watching. Great video bro!
Appreciate that!
awesome! we're at Catalina a lot and will keep an eye out for you ;)

Always make that trip to Catalina when out there. You guys are so blessed with that Fishing. Its an upgrade from HTX-Galveston! Fantastic video!
Hobbies are LIFE Bro!! 😊
Electric reel, on a Sea-doo, you got it made!

Thr fact you actually heated up your tortillas made me subscribe.
Man what an amazing trip just under an hour, good fishing and great meal can't go wrong with fish tacos. Thanks brother💯💯💯
Thanks for watching!

Thanks man! Those mackerel are definitely gonna taste great smoked.
I didn’t realise this trip was possible in a sea do. Catch me buying a sea do and spending every weekend snorkeling the north end of caraline
this is true satisfaction.
Fun, fun, fun! You know how to live! Am jealous! Get yourself some flotation for your cell phone. Thank for sharing!
lol yea gonna look for one, thanks for watching!

Loved your video keep on fishing
Amazing vid, thx. Couldn't stop watching. My buddies and I did this one day on his little Boston Whaler with Mahi-Mahi. Then busted out the cigars. Best day ever.
Sounds dope!
Great video, dude. I love Catalina . Never thought about doing a seadoo to get there. 😅 You are definitely prepared .
Nice SeaDoo meal!
That's a great run early on the morning .. it's glassy all the way.. but the after noon is the complete opposite .. it gets real rough and choppy ..
Some days if I’m lucky, it’s glass morning and afternoon.
Dude I can smell that cooking.... well done.... Safe travels for you
Thanks 👍
❤ wow! So awesome that you're back!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I never knew there were electric reels until I saw your video. Pretty awesome.
They're a game changer for sure!
Thats a long way..I heard that Laird Hamilton used to ski doo across the Aliinuihaha channel from Maui to Kawaihae when he was working on Waterworld there...heck of a commute.
Well done OHF, looks absolutely delicious !!!
Appreciate it!
Nice to see ya back good work awesome travels Catalina 😮

All I see is fish head soup and tacos, nice video big guy, greetings from east texas.
That is bad azzzz.......... very cool
That SeaDoo would be great in Coos Bay, Oregon
Catalina Island is known for being a great white hunting ground. That guy is a better man than I ... no way!
Awesome video.
I'm so uncoordinated I can barely fish and move around on the Sea Doo Fish Sport I use without feeling like I'm going to fall off, you on the other hand are freaking cooking on one, Awesome video, thanks for sharing!
It definitely takes some practice, you’ll get it!
While filming it...
Check all those new California fishing regs carefully - lot of changes
I've been PWC fishing in SoCal for 10 years and have been out of the sport for a little while. Let's organize a day trip among PWC fishermen and go fish out at The Channel Islands; we can even overnight. My home-base is in Los Angeles, SFV.

Nice trip
Nice job and nice grind on the fish.
Appreciate it, glad you enjoyed it!
great video! please be careful of what you eat though. The area between Palos Verdes and Catalina is a notorious dumping ground for DDT
I appreciate that advice!
Did you order extra microplastics with your rockfish?
😬😢 facts
For the rock fish regulations, be careful. To my knowledge, you need to be fishing past the 50 fathom line. There is also area where its well over 300 feet deep but it is not past the 50 fathom line so you are not allowed to rock fish.
Good info, thanks for pointing that out!
So you can catch clean cook and eat your catch. Do the Game Wardens have issue with this. 👍 Love the channel 🐟
great
Nice brother great videos so you showed us how long it takes to Catalina on the seadoo. what about the gas .
That whole trip was half my tank of gas
new sub here....I enjoyed the ride...thanks for sharing
Thanks for the sub!
Nice Tacos... Salsas from Northgate market are bomb.. I go to the new one in Costa Mesa and Santa Ana. Great stuff.. So whats for drink?.. wheres the Coronas!!!
"How Fast it Takes to Sea-Doo to Catalina" LMAO 😆
King Saba!
Yeah bro! Catalina on a jet ski, hardcore.
How you prepare those huge mackeral?
Let's see you make cheviche next time amigo.
Don't be lazy and reel 😂. It's not really fishing if you don't feel the burn . 😂
pretty awesome dude, am not even a fisherman though I used to fish back in the 90s......how far can a see doo go on a tank?
Thanks man! The range really depends on how hard you’re pushing it, but I get roughly 90-100 miles to the tank.
Great video!
Thanks!
Always wondered, and not sure if you want to answer, but do you ever carry when you go out? Know it's legal for fishermen in CA so wondering if you take advantage of that.
Nope I don’t carry
Awesome man! How well does that fish finder work in 300-500 ft?
It works just okay, definitely would like an upgrade
daang young Broh... you carry that big ol'pan?... aaaand stove? con Tortillas?... 🤣🤣... what else you got there... dishwasher,,, 🤣🤣 >"(((((< excellent vids..
😂
what about the DDT dumping in that area?
Dude I never thought you would have enough fuel to go to Catalina and back on a tank. Seems pretty far for a seadoo... I dont know much about MPG of those things.
what're your tips for preventing or keeping sea sickness to a minimum?
I heard those prescription patches work that you place behind your ear.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 brother 💪🎣
Thanks bro!
Great video.
Do you need to worry about ddt out there at Catalina island?
Not that I know of
Nice video - just subscribed to your channel
Thanks for subscribing!
How much did you pay for the Seadue? 10K 🤔 looks so fancy and convenient as well.
Around 24k
Funny how the camera doesn't tilt with boat?
Next time stop by at the bait shop and get some live bait or use sabiki to catch it . Then you can catch some monsters
No kill switch? Probably just missed seeing it. Good luck man, beautiful video, but stay safe.
Yea key is attached to me
What sea-Doo do you recommend
The one I have, fishpro sport 170
what brand is your sun gaiter?
It’s from @morethanfishing
is there a $4000 fine if you catch some protected fish out there ? catalina ?
Garibaldi. Don’t know the fine, but they’re the orange ones you see everywhere out there
Brih I been thinking of taking my 16 ft inflable heat welded Saturn boat woth aluim floor witch is a beast it can hol a 40 hp outboard more ot has 5 chambers in is very strong my onl fear is a bog ass shark or not knowing how to get back from we’re you left lol lol do you use your gps on your phone tho amd no a shakr can’t take my boat down it has 5 chambers so even is 2 are bitten stil can make it back no problem tho have you seen any bog sharks out there
That boat sounds tough! I haven’t seen any big sharks out there.
All the phone usage is giving me anxiety... then the guy sets up a full cooktop setup on the sea doo, lmao.
Need some lemon :-). You ever bring baby wipes for your hands or paper towels?
you should have seen the mackerels 40 years ago...
Just got a sub.
Thank you!
How's the ddt tacos, hello.
The last time I tried that my buddys jetski died 5 miles off Palos Verdes & had to get rescued by Baywatch.
If it’s not a seadoo fish pro, I wouldn’t do it lol
You sound like and look like a older version of my nephew hahaha.
Bro you know there supposed to be alien bases in the ocean near Catalina. You ever see any UFO type things on your trips?
Yea the ufo tried to take me and the seadoo into their base… and I was like nah not today and zoomed away.
@ I knew it!!! Tell them to chill
why dont you put leash on knife attach to sea-doo
Is it ever sketchy getting out of Pedro?
Sometimes if swell is too high
Dude, don't back off after you hit the fish. Reel and keep pressure after the hook set. You hit the fish a rope the rod back down. Hit the fish and keep the rod tip pressure. Not slingshot a loop down your line with that Strange hook set of yours.
Other than that, you're on it! Sick set up.
Can I use your seadoo while you play pickleball😅
Your toadfish code doesn’t work
I will let them know, thanks
This dude don't play around.
This loser forgot the limes.... j/k thats crazy well done
This comment is in support of your use of a Seado, which are often obnoxious around the shores for everyone not on one. Seriously, though a comment to help your numbers.
Thank you 🙏
The title is not correct. It should be " How long does it take to get to" or "What is the quickest time possible to "
Between the mainland and Catalina the water is at the most 100 ft deep. So if you are fishing at 300 feet you will have to go past Avalon by about 30 miles.
Stupid!
😂 you’ve gotta be joking
I came here just to laugh at this comment. Tell me you don’t fish in SoCal without telling me you don’t fish in SoCal.
I hate to be that guy, but taking a sea-doo across the San Pedro Channel is completely idiotic. When something eventually goes wrong, i hope the coast guard bills you for every dime for the rescue, which will definitely be more than the price of a nice boat.
You should try it: www.jetski2catalina.com
Congrats...you are THAT guy.
He is going to make soup out of that carcus after it sits in the sun all day.
