@@ancient7716 At that point might as well get more packs. Like 100, since a simulated pack opener doesn't cost money and would potentially allow for more variety in the decks they can build
can you guys do an arena special showdown. where you draft your deck in arena, then recreate the deck and play against eachother. would be very fun to watch
I had this idea when you do the second season or whatever: So you know how in Call of Duty when you prestige you get 1 token which can be used to unlock anything. Why don’t you keep the same account and you guys can choose 1 card to keep that you can use throughout the expansion
I will recommend an idea I've had for a while for a series, basically every week you spin a wheel with every expansion on it, spin 3 times and every expansion on the list that is spun is the cards you can play and then those expansions are excluded for the following week, call it wheel of hearthstone or something idk kinda fun but kinda bad if you get the boring expansions so maybe have the loser pick one of the wheel spins
Couple of ideas that came to mind : 1) Tavern Brawl Showdown; 2) Dungeon run Showdown where one of you plays and the other make the card bucket choices; 3) Involve a guest content creator - guest choose a theme (ex: odd cards only, 3 specific expansions, no hero power) and build 2 deck codes for each of you - you can to close the third deck - potential opportunity to collab / make some new friends ;) Loved the series, stay awesome the both of you.
Thanks Person and Dekkster for making this series! Really entertaining, maybe the best thing Hearthstone has going on right now. Also thanks a lot to the patreons for supporting this series. I really am hoping for a second Showdown, i'd probably watch it even if you just go over each expansion again with the cards your drafted in this showdown. Maybe you could start it over, this time using the rule that at least 20 cards got to be from the expansion you are showcasing, allowing more complex decks later on but keeping the focus on the current expansion. You could make a rule that each of you rolls for one of the 9 (or later on 10) classes randomly, playing it aswell as a class of your own choice plus one class selected by your opponent. That way you'd have 3 decks for a best of 5 again. I don't know how to avoid doubles yet. Another idea is swapping accounts (if you both are comfortable with this), basically playing against your own collection of cards you collected during this showdown. For some extra spice let the winner disenchant previously crafted cards (from the wheel-thingy). Thanks again for the ongoing entertainment regardless of what you do next!
Solem and also Dekkster, thank you so much for this amazing serie. Watching the two of you battle it out and becoming brothers of another mother has been my highlight of the week for the past half year.
Some ideas : (You can use your main account with all the cards for all 3 ideas, so no more buying packs =p) Battle of the lost archetypes - start from the first expansion and move foreward. - Every time, you say to the other what archetype he have to play from that expantion. Something realy bad, but clearly pushed by blizzard. If you want to win, you'll have to pick things like "freeze shaman", "Hand buff hir'eek", or whatever. Then the one the the least victory get to tell the other one what to play first. (or second maybe if you want to think about counters...) The great thing is, we get to see something we never see played. =) Truely epic - Start from the first expansion and move foreward. - You must play 2 copies of EVERY epic cards you can from that expansion. both neutral and your class (I think that's 10/30 cards in your deck taken care of... maybe 12 if you include minisets). (Since epic cards often do weird things, it could be fun to see them in action) Legendary roulette (this one is a bit more jenky to setup... but could be fun) - In wild play each class until you have a win with each class. - Pick (or randomise) a class, then roll 5 (10?) random legendary from neutral or that class (if you have 30 to choose from, just roll 5 different random number between 1 and 30 in the order they appear in your card collection). You build around them and can't include any other legendary. Expansion draft - In wild play each class until you have a win with each class. - You randomise 3 class each. Then randomise 6 expansions. - The looser from previous pick an expansion first. take turn picking from the remaining expansions untill you both have 3 different expansions selected. Build your deck with 5-10 cards from each expansion (+ core set).
Loved this series one of the real reasons why started playing hearthstone again keep up the amazing work as always Solem love your stuff man thanks for the amazing series
I love this series and the vibe that it has brought to us. It also seems like Solem and Dekkster are genuinely having a good time doing this series, which is great to see.
Since the hunter questline rewards with the exception of Tavish don't read "for the rest of the game" you have to complete it after becoming rexxar if you want the discounted hero power. Which is probably why nobody even bothers to play the two together in wild
I always wonder which expansion is the “strongest”, you can try this: use in every-duel the classic expansion plus an expansion of your choice, so here’s my idea
Ha! That German saying you mentioned is a saying in Russian too. It's "не везёт в картах повезёт в любви" which means "if you have bad luck with cards you'll have good luck with love"
What about going expansion by expansion and only using cards in the bottom-half of used cards (I think there's an hsreplay list or something)? So each expansion is what, 130ish cards? So the 65 least-used cards would only be available to make a deck with, as well as the lower-half of used Core cards.
I'd love to see more of the 'gamified' rules. Using a wheel to provide random variation (and the use of the Wild format which I like far more than standard) has been great. Honestly, seeing PvP in Wild that isn't 'on meta' is really fun sometimes. Hope you both are well.
How about expansion showdown where you only get to use that week’s expansion plus core cards? You could reuse these accounts, and use some rule to expand the collections a little as you go with packs or limited crafting
Reverse draft - you make the 3 decks that your opponent has to win with. Balance idea #1 your opponent can pick 5 neutral cards that have to be in every deck Balance idea #2 you make 3 decks but you have to play with two of your opponent's decks and one that you made, chosen randomly
I found out with the priest quest if the price goes up the cards count, like if a watch tower makes your 3 cost card 4 cost it counts. Weird it works going up but not down!
I really enjoyed this series, I'd like to see another. If you want to mix it up, maybe have more opportunity for crafting? You could also have class bans to discourage focusing on building one top tier deck.
I'd like to see an exp. showdown 2.0 with full access to classic and only 10 packs per expansion making the cards pulled far more impactful. It would keep the cost lower while making the decks much harder to fine tune.
Using a pack simulator would be nice but what if everything was based on dust instead? You get set amount of dust per week to make 3 decks so you’d have to focus a lot on neutrals. If you win that week, you have to disenchant a class legendary not only to play other classes but so the other player catches up
Hey Solem, for some reason YT stopped putting your vids in my suggested list. They used to nearly all be there. I thought it was odd so I figured I'd tell you. I still watch most of them anyway though. :)
1. Do an arena special. 2. Get a few others involved (roffle, get meowth, Corbett) and have a round robin tournament which progresses to knockouts. Like a footy draw. Winner is Streamer Supreme
They always make these expansions fun to watch since their decks are really bad but funny, I got bored out of my mind watching United in Stormwind since its just a single player game now, but this…this does put a smile on my face.
This series is so good that even if you did the same thing all over again tons of people would still show up to watch it. Please make another season, if you want extra rules or slight format change to spice things up, sure, just saying even if you did nothing we’d still be there
You could just play regular sealed through Every expansion. That means only cards from a certain expansion is allowed, and only the ones you opened in your packs.
What about a showdown with the legal standard cards year by year? We saw dekkster playing wild, would be fair if Solem plays standard for the next series.
How about you guys play the expansions in reverse? From stormwind to classic. That makes the deckbuilding process more fun. And we'll get to see stuff that we don't normally see "meme vs meme".
holduppp, why playing rexxar doesn't work with the quest??? I tested it after i completed my quest i played zuljin and my hero power still costed zero and refreshed after every spell!!
How about you go through the expansions and each build 2 decks, and after the second match you use the borrow deck feature and have to try to win with your opponent’s decks. If you go 2-2 then the tiebreaker is you can choose any of you and your opponent’s 4 decks that you haven’t won with. You could bump it to 3 decks and go best 4 out of 7 if you’re ok with longer episodes. You could call it Hearthstone Swap Showdown or something.
Not sure if you’d want to, but play other games that aren’t hearthstone against each other. Spin a wheel for a game or each of you guys take turns picking a game to challenge the other. Who knows maybe a smaller game would buy you guys a bundle or something since you are top tier streamers.

40 more packs from each expansion and start over
Please do a simulated pack opener, seeing so much money going to blizzard's pockets, 60$ per expansion, jesus
@@ancient7716 At that point might as well get more packs. Like 100, since a simulated pack opener doesn't cost money and would potentially allow for more variety in the decks they can build
