Wow oh wow cut out that stripped merchant and mills fabric with care !! Its stunning but wow what a price ………………… but it’s also something I’d buy too 😊 cannot wait to see them love love the fabric xxxx ❤
Oh my days I need picking up from the floor. I’m nowhere near far enough along in my sewing to buy that Striped fabric you have, far too much of a coward!! Can’t wait to see what yours looks like when it finished!! 🐾🐾
Rachel so well done on your deltash. When you first showed us your lovely stash and your destash plans, I thought it was an almost impossible job and you’ve done it!!! Your panelled dress is divine!!!!
Lovely dress and gorgeous fabric. When I was taught to sew we cut and sewed the lining together first, then fitted and then any alterations needed marked on pattern. Then you cut out main fabric knowing it will fit you lovely.
Lovely catch up and I get to find out what your top is. Love the fabrics and your latest dress. I am about to make the Bob trousers and will be making a toil so I can get the fit right after losing a lot of weight last year. I can then make a new block to fit me which will be great. Happy sewing ❤
I am so glad that you told us you are in a place where your sew-jo has gone. Mine has. I am trying to use up my knits from my stash😢Boring. Also I don't like the summer heat here. Going to start exercising outside and sewing some wovens also from my stash. Need to loose 30 lbs also. How do you do it? I have really missed you. I feel close because we have some familiar problems.
Love the dress and the top will look amazing with the jeans. Beautiful fabrics as well, the tie die look one is the I want to see made up.....what will it be? The fluer dress will look good in the peachy-orange. Have a great sewing week 💝
Both the blouse and the dress are absolutely stunning! I love them both and think they will work great for everyday or dressed up a bit for a date night or lunch with friends. Again, very stunning for both makes. Thank you for sharing and happy sewing!
I managed to get some of that purple fabric from Lee Mills(the last 2 meters) 😊I'm thinking of a Kielo wrap dress if I can squeeze it out of 2 meters😂yay!
I have to agree with you about the watercolour print dress. It would be an awful lot of fabric for the lining in a summer dress. It would be like wearing two dresses and maybe quite warm. It is a beautiful dress. If it is any help at all, my Mom was a seamstress and made wedding dresses, brides maid dresses etc. and she would often have to reduce the lining, make half linings, or use a very lightweight tissue linen to line them otherwise they would be too heavy. The fabric is stunning. Love it. I would like to see you in it. I too am in the process of selling my fabric stash, and two of my sewing machines over the last few weeks, keeping one to send to my daughter and it is proving to be a real emotional chore. I have recently had a major upset from an emotional narcissist resulting in my losing my joy of all things sewing related. I will try and watch your videos from time to time, as I feel well enough to do so, to see if you wear the dress on a video. I am leaving this hobby behind so won't have the same interest in watching videos. Maybe I will take up fencing, tennis or kayaking. 😂 I am sure there is something out there for me.
I saw the Willow top online and I plan to make it as a dress for my granddaughter. She loves dresses like that. I love the fabric you used for your Willow top, so soft and pretty. Your Innes dress is gorgeous, beautiful fabric.
I love the floral dress! Simply lovely! Be sure and wash and dry that denim a couple of times! Can't wait to see the jeans. Some of the less "exciting" garments are the ones we wear the most! Great makes! Hugs! Peggy
Love the new top and really wish I could wear that style- I can imagine it looking fabulous on you. Also loving your Nia top- really good idea to cut on the bias and the colours look great on you. The Ines dress is gorgeous and I do admire your tenacity with the fit and the lining. There is probably less give in the cotton lining but it really works. Looking forward to seeing the red and black versions. 😊 Happy Sewing. Lynne
Fabulous dress Rachel. I can’t wait to see it finished. One tinsy little request? Could you possibly do a Top Tip Tuesday again and show us how to level the hem of it please? Pretty please? Great vlog as always ❤. Thanks for sharing x
Your Ines dress is absolutely stunning! Ines is the French version 😊, I believe they are a bilingual pattern company, I was just on their website today how funny.
I love your blogs and all the amazing garments you make I’m new to dressmaking in my seventies !!!! having only made curtains before also have bough an overlocker and love it x
Hi Rachel! You and Cara from SoSewMad, are naughty with all these amazing patterns, fabrics, makes and plans!I already have so many patterns and a gorgeous stash but then I see your makes and think oh dear, dear, dear, I think I need to make that too. Lol. Thanks for sharing. Everything looks so lovely on you.
I’ve found before that lining a garment automatically makes it tighter. I’ve been caught out with that! The dress you made will really suit your shape. I like your Naya fabric and remember you unboxing it. You have used it in a very novel way. You are very inspiring and watching your vlogs makes me want to sew immediately but alas I’m going to the gym. I’m trying to get back in the habit….
I love your Naya tee Rachel. Those colours look really good on you. I also don’t usually have any luck in charity shops although have friends who always seem to find stuff.
Oh that Ines has a lovely ‘50’s vibe! I wonder if it would have been more beneficial to have a side zip to do up. I have postie sacks in the Autumn for the Rescue calendars. Then Selfridges brought out a jacket that looks like them for well over £400 can you believe!!
Lovely makes. With the zero waste patterns are they all based on simple shapes,so you simply measure squares, rectangles etc.? Your striped linen fabric is gorgeous.
Your makes are gorgeous and looking forward to seeing your red and black dress makes. I love a good mooch around charity shops and apart from 1 jacket never find anything nice
I think the seam ripper may be the most useful tool in my sewing room. :)
Wow oh wow cut out that stripped merchant and mills fabric with care !! Its stunning but wow what a price ………………… but it’s also something I’d buy too 😊 cannot wait to see them love love the fabric xxxx ❤

Great vlog as always the dress is beautiful. Will look good in the linen although I can’t deal with creases. Is the linen a mix? ❤❤
Can you still get the material you have made the Ines dress in? Absolutely loving it.

Complicated dress design 😮
