- Changing things up a little in this week's video. Today I'm at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis and we're strolling through the Community Mausoleum. It's a beautiful mausoleum that was completed in the 1950s.
From the Crown Hill Heritage Foundation website
"Crown Hill commissioned the architectural firm of D.A. Bolen and Son to design a community-wide resource. Built on the cemetery’s North Grounds and dedicated in 1951, the Crown Hill Mausoleum took two-and-a-half years to build. Its Bedford limestone exterior gives way to a marble-lined interior constructed of various types of domestic and imported stone."
"The North Building, which was featured on the original 1948 plan, was built ten years after the Main Building was completed. The mausoleum includes crypts from side-by-side or end-to-end interment of caskets, as well as columbarium niches to enshrine cremation urns."

That note that someone wrote to their Parents, ripped at my heartstrings. I could almost feel the sadness and despair from the person who left it. Bless their heart.
Good to see that it's been up and running since the 50's. You mainly hear about all of the abandoned ones.
Such a peaceful feeling in this place..thank you for sharing and great video
Awesome Mausoleum and Awesome Video!
Really enjoyed your beautiful presentation. Your camera work is very good. Thank you!
Thanks for watching Patti!
Very respectful video. Your music beautiful and the stained glass.
Thank you for showing this video. What an amazing mausoleum. Good work! It's amazing what good shape its in. Whoever takes care of the mausoleum does good work and it's Clean.
To The negative comments you don't need to watch.
Beautiful music thanks for the tour loved it
Thanks for watching!
One of the nicest ones I have seen
Very clean!!! Thanks 🙏
Nice choice of music and the camera work was very good. I loved it when you sat in the chair pondering or stood looking at the memorials. Looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks Carolyn! ❤️ Hope to upload more videos soon
Cool! I love seeing mausoleums
Hey mate I am from Australia, I just subscribed to your channel. I love it. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching!
All good mate
Hello sir; you're not a weirdo at all! Quite normal and enlightened. Very handsome as well. Cemeteries have always fascinated me, but I've only explored one historic Trinity Church Cemetery in NYC. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much David. More videos to come..
I'm a fellow Taphophile
There is plenty to see and close . If you are in or near Brooklyn check out either Greenwood ( it phenomenal) or the metal cemetery it's smaller and very unique all headstones are made of metal some dont look like it
What a nice artful and respectful presentation. I recommend Forest Hill Cemetery, and Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (where comedian Chris Farley is interred). They are adjacent to each other, and located just South of Lake Mendota in Madison Wisconsin. A lot of history there going back to the Civil War.
Thanks Keith. 🙂
100 years from now that mausoleum will be in pieces, no electricity, no maintenance, no nothing . That’s the way they all end up when then run out of care and money . Good luck!
Beautiful. What’s that musical peace called at the end of the video?
Fairmont in Aurora Colorado has cool stuff.
Crown Hill… one of my favorite places to explore…
I wonder were they got all that Marble.
At 4:40, a lot of M.D.s chose to stay together postmortem.
I been there. There's a few famous graves there.
I learned to drive in crown hill
Nice video and editing. For those with the negitive comments, it's obviously not your interest but it is for others. There are art in the cemeteries and millions of stories of the dead who once existed that some people tell through their videos. Move on with your normal lives before putting down others who share a different likeness. We were not meant to be the same.
EXACTLY 🖤
@@AGuyinaCemetery Nice choice of music to the video I must say. You did this video so elegantly and respectfully. I felt it seeing the little note the love ones left for the mother and the ending of the video was perfect and expressed so much without words. Wonderfully done.
I used to be called weird for being interested in such but I see here I'm not alone. Thanks for the great video
You might want to check out Knowood cemetery is Mayfield Ohio " Bever Clevers home town " thay have the largest temperature controlled mausoleum east of the MISSISSIPPI and is the final resting place of Sam and Marilyn Sheppard "TV show the Fugitive "was supposedly based" and has a very large number of stained glass windows that are made by Louis Comfort Tiffany
Is it haunted? Because I had witnessed couple paranormal activities there.
One time, I was entering that mausoleum when I heard what I thought was a male voice, like it sounded like a "bop," and then I immediately ran outside because I was freaking out. I went back to the entrance a few seconds later and started looking around. Not to be disrespectful, but every time I wandered through the mausoleum halls with columbarium and crypts, I had an uneasy sense of feeling that I was being watched. I then later headed out of the mausoleum and never come back.
What's the Chenowieth family time capsule all about? Does anyone know?
I wondered about that too!
Nrw sub here i love this kinf of channels all the way from the rock of gibraltar 🇬🇮
Thanks for watching!
Should have some kind d of temperature control to keep it comfortable for people dead and alive cheap place
Great Just what youtube needs another cemetary channel.
Here's what's cool about RUclips... You don't have to watch ANY of my videos if you don't like them! 😀
Waste of money
Kinda boring.....you add nothing to the experience......redirect to a more meaningful purpose.
Appreciate it. You're the best. Lots of love. 👍
there's no purpose to be visiting Cemetery unless you are dead your self or burial someone you know it a pointless waste of time.
