Yes easily my favorite song by them. Not easy to make a 58 year old man cry but this song does every time I hear it. 23 years of sobriety for me and yes I've lost loved ones to this disease and some still in prison as well. My other favorite is Fade Away because it is so inspirational to those that were told they couldn't, but yet you can. Amazing songwriters these young ladies are
Truly one of the greatest songs of all time written by a 13 year old girl. Mark my words, Paulina Villarreal will go down as one of the greatest talents of all time!
Pau wrote this song when she was 13 after reading an article in the newspaper about a man and his addiction. This was on their first album XXI Century Blood that was released in 2017. The three of them are all classically trained pianists from the time they were toddlers and took up their instruments later. There wasn't a plan to form a band either they played their instrument separately until there was a Christmas concert at their school and they played God GAve Us Rock and Roll way back in 2012. After that they were so excited about playing together in front of an audience they decided to continue on as a band and started playing more covers but more importantly writing their own songs which would appear on their first recording Escape the Mind just 2 years later.
Typical subject matter for a young teen to write about: Drug addiction, and the despair that engulfs those who are addicted. To say Pau has an old soul, does not do her justice. 🤘🏻❤️⚠️
Pau has a connection as a songwriter and producer that most don't. And yes I count her as a producer as go back and look at the entire tour for Crimson Queen. She produced the lives shows herself using a laptop that controlled all the projected stuff on the screen, plus all the click tracks and MIDI tracks are programed. It's what keeps them so tight as a band. She's a freaking genius if you hear her interviewed properly.
Thanks again Maunalee. Black Holes is for me the anthem for those who have and still are struggling with addiction. This song just nails the despair and hopelessness one feels when immersed in active addiction. Yes I have had personal experience with addiction; 12 years sobriety to date. When I first heard this song I was in tears. The antithesis of this song is also written by Paulina (Pau) is "Show me the Light".
Congratulations Bradley on 12 years. This song brings me to tears everytime because I lost family members to addiction and some that have recovered. Stay strong.
Congratulations Brad on 12 years of sobriety. I am currently 8 years sober. I also manage a sober living house for men. I've seen the good and the bad with people struggling to get past this obcesstion with drugs and/or alcohol. How Pau wrote a lyric that I'm sure my girlfriend, my friends and family felt is amazing. That lyric is this. And I know that you try to stay But my awful ways You will never overlook And all the things that hurt me They got no remedy And they'll start hurting you too. Keep going strong Brad.
All three of them are unbelivable talanted, but to me, Pau is the most talanted of the three, and that really says a lot ! She write most of the songs and lyrics, even though they all collaborate when writing songs, she's so entertaining to watch drumming, but above all I LOVE her singing ! Dany is a very good singer, and acually has a more beautiful voice, but the passion Pau puts into her singing is simply unmatched ! Like you said, she's able to express pain and desperation when she sings, and that really gets to me ! No one would belive how much I've cried to this song ! Her wholehearted passion just moves my soul ! Pau is a one of a kind fantastic young lady !
Yes, a wonderful and very mature song. This entire set at the Dakota Bar (2018) is, for me, TW's finest (pre QOTMS) live recorded show. DPA were inspired and magical that night.
Thank you for your reaction! Pau wrote this song with 13 or so... she is super talented, drumming is just one of her aspects... Love the story around Charlotte‘s drum obsession... 🥰👍🤘
This has to be one of my Favorites from XXI Century blood album. The passion in they way The Warning write is just amazing and at such a young age I am so excited about the 3rd album and even future albums as life experiences helps them.
Yes many future albums since they currently have a 5 album deal with Lava records. The first one is done just waiting for Lava to release it. Can't wait as I only discovered this beautiful trio of sisters around the middle of last year. Just love everything Dany,Pau,Ale do. Pau is my favorite, but all three are so talented!
Very deep song about an important issue, addiction. And at the beginning Pau is smiling because she is so honored the crowd is singing along with her song she wrote.
Manualee, you must have forgotten Pau’s cover of Creep with just her and the piano. When you download Black Holes listen closely to the lyrics, written by Pau at 13. Her insight into the human condition is staggering.
hello. thank you for great content that you are bringing to this space/platform. i think you should make a radio interview/podcast live with The Warning, it would get tons of great reaction and likes..Plus they are so nice to talk to. three majestic beings @music with maunalee rocks. and VIVA MEXICO!
if i dont know if you notice but at the begining of this performance since she wrote this song the crowd started to sing along with her and when the camera zoomed in on her face she had the biggest smile on her face as she was singing that has got to be an incredible feeling to have a crowd sing a song that you wrote from your heart in my opinion paulina is a musical genius and is one of the best writers and composers around today
They write most of there songs on the piano or keyboard then figure out the other instruments. All three are classically trained on the piano way before they wanted to do rock.
@@rfroget Thank you. Really like it, especially the second half of the song where he takes the melody into a higher range -- and totally makes the song his own
I like Pau's voice but I think Dan y has more range. I think Dany's problem is that she tends to lose technique while concentrating on her playing. As to Pau's passion, I swear I think the girl probably snores with passion.
First time reaction to hearing this group ever and right after it begins I think, she reminds me of Regina Spektor with an edge, which in my book is a good thing. In fact there are snippets of chord progressions I've heard in Ms. Spektor music. Overall, it got a little muddy and less nuanced as it went alone, but interesting enough to check out one or two more videos..
Well worth your time Bert. May I suggest Dust To Dust and Dull Knives as a couple of songs to give you the flavor of this amazing sister band from Monterrey Mexico.
Dany and Pau's voices are different, but they‘re both amazing (in my opinion), I think I couldn't choose which one I like more. What happens is that Pau in a concert only sings 2 or 3 songs while Dany sings the rest (around 14 songs when it is 1 hour and a half), and of course in a concert with such small breaks, the emotion and energy she puts in, and the fact that she also plays the guitar, etc...it's no wonder that her voice doesn't sounds as powerful and clear as if she only sang 4 or 5 songs. (P.S. You can fully appreciate Dany’s amazing and powerful voice in their acoustic versions...)
They all play the piano. I think when Dany sings the mic is too low. Pau definitely has a “bigger” sound when she sings. Watch close-ups when Dany sings, she has an incredibly expressive face.
Pablo Thanks for providing this link, this is a further example of how far The Warning has progressed over the last couple of years. Fans need to provide more recent performances like this one to reactors like Munalee.
Ok I’ve been lurking for awhile watching this channel. I’m a musician of 50 years, I don’t have perfect pitch but have developed relative pitch. This reactor CLEARLY does not have a highly developed musical ear but keeps critiquing pitch as if she does. Like with the harmonies in this song, which were very solid, she said they were a little off. They weren’t. I find radio personalities are often guilty of this false expertise so I’m not surprised to learn she used to be one.
I think this is the best version soundwise. Harmonies are clean and Pau gives it all. (9.5 just calls up your sliding scale to me ),🤷 (Angelina got a 6.5 on an original she never went "off" on but she didn't play piano so more demerits?) Did you get tired of them or run out of songs? I would love to hear more.
I love Ale, but believe me, she's not ready yet to be critiqued by someone for whom being consistently on pitch is an important characteristics. Not by a long shot. Give Ale time to find her lead singing groove first. She's still young.
Heres some of Pau's early piano days. ruclips.net/video/OcDkKxHa0B4/видео.html / ruclips.net/video/HXipL6yVl7w/видео.html Not for reaction just to catch you up on stuff.

Most beautiful song about addiction ever written. My favorite TW song.
Exactly. Total beauty of a song.
Mine too! WOW
Is not a song about addictions, is about whatever u want yes, but no specifically "addictions"
Love this song. It’s amazing how a 13 year old can write a song like this about the struggles with addiction. Tear jerker😢😭
Finally. Something worth watching while I drink my morning coffee! They are growing on me.
Patrick listen to Show Me the Light it is also an amazing song from XXI Century Blood album.
Listen to Fade Away also

The passion of Pau! This is Paulina's song. She was 13 when she wrote it. It's about addiction.
Definitely a classic power rock ballad.
Without a doubt my favorite song from their 1st album. Makes my playlist every time I load up my MP3
She’s so special, so very special 👌
Anyone who’s suffered addiction issues will totally get this song....
Lovely story about Charlotte. She is adorable. Pau has inspired many of us! She is one of my hero’s.

Best one from Warning untill now. 😎
All 3 of them grew up taking piano lessons. Other instruments came later.
Very deep song about an important issue, addiction.

A heart aching song about addiction and hopelessness...
Always love your reactions, and the Warning the best, I'm a hugh fan 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I really love you reacts, never change your mood.
Pau is sooooo intense!!!
What a great heart and soul!!

Tears of joy and sorrow❤️
My favorite version of this instant classic
Love it! That one reaches deep with me. Pau wrote it at the ripe old age of 14.

@@iNsTaNtpUdDiNhEaD Even better.
One of my favorites with Pau my favorite of The Warning sisters. All three Dany,Pau,Ale are so talented.
Being a good song writer is one in a million. Having a great voice is a dime a dozen here in youtube alone.
Yes, many of The Warning songs will one day be covered by other artists
@@americalost5100 Have you heard this? ruclips.net/video/cm0Ac9qFy0E/видео.html I think its pretty good!

I'm sorry, doesn't everyone?

Love your reactions!

All are classically trained pianists.
Awesome!
Hello hello viva México, tanks You!!.
She wants to be a "drumsetter" - too cute! hehe
John Jardine, i agree.
i just cant get what is about this band that im so impressed by! i know the music is wonderful!

This is the first I've heard it. I don't think you can understand it one time listening.
The lyrics can be found in the Description section of the Warning Black Holes Dakota Bar RUclips video...
OH WAIT. SO DANY IS PLAYING HARMONICS WHILE PAU IS PLAYING THE PIANO AND VOCALS 😳
I wish they'd put a light on Pau.
I agree. Pau is great.
Yes they wrote it.
By the way, wanted to ask how do the studio versions of their songs sound to you , Maunalee?

Better visual and audio on The Warning at Foro Didi Live - RUclips at 48:30.
Better visual. But listen to foro version. Dany's mic is too hot for backing vocals and Pau let's the crowd sing some of the song.
Black Hole Sun - PMJ with Haley
You should try with Ale on lead. She has done a few now
