Careful!!! Don't let the scary-folk bite. When I was a child, I used to have terrible nightmares -- many fueled by the (at that time tame) horror movies and scary stories the adults told. In almost all of them, I was being chopped up or killed by some horrible creature or human, but I'd generally wake up just before I was finished off. These dreams scared me so much that I would try to fight going to sleep and even sleep very lightly until after several nights fatigue would set in and I'd be in a deep sleep running away from the demons and monsters. Then, one night it suddenly dawned on me that these were MY dreams. Just as I could dream up all the bad things, I should also be able to dream up the good things. So, if I was being chased by a vampire, I'd dream I had a sharpened stake in my hand and jam it into it's heart as he tried to pounce on me. Sometimes I'd cream up a machine gun or a flame-thrower, etc. and destroy the monster before it got me. It wasn't long after that that I stopped having nightmares. Nightmares are your dreams. It's your picture show -- you're not only an actor, but the director as well. So, dream yourself as able to turn into some kind of well-armed superman and start kicking the butts of your tormentors. They'll get tired of it after awhile and leave you alone to dream of nicer things.
