Hike/Scramble Mt Angeles, WA to the summit via Klahhane ridge

Me, Jenny and Charles Hiked/scrambled up Mt. Angeles and reached the summit. We did it on July 22 and there was no snow on the track. At one point the landscape changed dramatically. It went from long green trees to rocky alpine terrain. Then we had to go down to take a traverse towards the left, hike up, scramble before you begin a steep climb through the meadows and subalpine forest. Finally, pass couple ridges to reach the main summit. Since it could be done in a day its better to carry the essentials and good climbing shoes for solid grip when the scramble begins. It’s better not to carry a heavy backpack since the first pitch is pretty steep. Ropes are safer if you are beginner and scared of doing scramble class 3 or more. So, do not attempt summiting unless you are experienced in scrambling and ready to take class 3 ascent. From the summit we went to the parking lot which was over an hour descent.

Did you need to set up a rope belay or any safety lines for the descent? Were there any tricky moves? Or was it all pretty straightforward, similar to the haystack at Si?

How long did this take you if you don't mind me asking. I am on vacation from Florida and am interested in climbing.

Sorry for the late reply, it took around 8 hours to finish the hike. We went all the way from the bottom. Some usually drive close up top and do the summit from the parking lot, then its under 4 hours. Good luck, its a fun hike
