Wow, the Vista's decor is absolutely stunning! 😍 Can't believe it's the first in the Allura class. Need to experience this luxury cruise for myself!

I sailed on Oceania Insignia to Bermuda with my wife. Previously had done Royal, Carnival, Disney, NCL, and Celebrity, so we had experience with the more well known brands. After Oceania, we are sold. Lobster tail and filet mignon any time of day for my wife. Im a simple guy, so the fact that I can get freshly made, hand pressed burgers, in addition to other great "bar menu" items on such a premium boat is awesome. Add the fresh bakery, cooking classes, no screaming kids, padded lounge chairs. Guest to staff was perfect. Ive been on Celebrity recently and I have to down grade them a bit. They are barely premium with all the cutbacks to food options and quality, not to mention all yhe staff reductions. Oceania, meanwhile, feels closer to luxury than premium. I dont mind paying extra if Im getting extra, unlike with Celebrity these days, where they charge more and cut back. Booking the Allura for next year.

Went on theOceania Vista for its its New Year 11 day cruise. Yes, it was worth the money. Great food and 1970s, 1980s elegant atmosphere. Luckily not too many scooters, but yes, older age group, like in Holland America or other longer cruises.

As new retirees, we did a lot of research into upscale cruise lines. While Regent Seven Seas is true luxury, it's extremely expensive, and we thought it might be too stuffy for us. OTOH, Oceania's 1,200 passenger ships are a much better fit for our budget and are plenty luxurious. We absolutely love the food, and in our opinion, the country club casual atmosphere is not stuffy. Oceania's itineraries are interesting and port intensive with minimal sea days, and the inclusions mean that there is no nickel and diming. We're scheduled to do a 16 day Panama Canal cruise on Vista early next year.

I was expecting great food on our Oceania cruise in 2023. We don't eat exotic stuff like frogs legs, caviar, escargot, and foie gras. Instead, we appreciate good tasting food that "regular" people eat that you wouldn't attempt to prepare at home, or food that might be too pricey at a restaurant. That's what we really wanted. I must say we were blown away! The appetizers, the mains, and the desserts were all incredible. Even the freshly baked breads were incredible. We still talk about the amazing breads. Then we look at the calendar to see how long until our next Oceania cruise. If you are a foodie, you won't be disappointed. Plus all four specialty dining venues are included in the cruise fare!

However the Renaissance Cruise Line was the now Current Sirena ship with Oceania Line (The "R" class refurbished). sailing 3 different Ships with Concierge Class/ suites each time... Never will I sail solo again... My last sailing was on the MS Niew Amsterdam in Suite 11002 next to the Library ... On Thanksgiving week with my Family next door in an adjoining suite... Miss sailing to Jamaica for them 1st time ever due to restrictions for US citizens ... Holland America told the Captain to bypass that port due to Embassy restrictions at the time. Would have been my 4th different ship on (Carnival's) Holland America. The best cruise ever has been with Cunard in 1994-95 when they had smaller ships that fit through the old locks in the Panama Canal. May have to try River Cruise ship in the future... Maybe?

We sailed on Oceania Riviera in the Med last year. Didn't see many wheelchairs or walkers. Riviera is the same size ship as Vista with similar decor. Stunning! They have the finest cuisine at sea for sure. We even took a cooking class and ate what we prepared. No lines. No nickel and dime gimmicks. Beer and wine is included with lunch and dinner. Now we only sail on Oceania. Did the math. Total cost is on par with Princess after all their packages.

Vista is NOT the first new ship in 10 years; Sirena's maiden voyage was in April 2016.
We love Oceania due to the value for the cost and "The Best Food At Sea".
Our next Oceania cruise will be our 5th on Oceania.

The best customer service and Culture of past 40 odd years will change your family!
My children and grandchildren will always be able to remember how we introduced them at a formative age to choose how to show their children and future generations how My wife and I were taught to engage other cultures around the world as US citizens should... Not how we do it In Today's World...but Kinder at least not obtrusive... But as a Received Guest.

    Great video and review!
We've looked at doing the Vista only because the cost is so close the Icon of the Seas! Why do Icon when you can kick it up several levels!
Our only concerns are that we are laid back and are not fond of dress codes for dinner. Also, the age demographic is a bit worrisome!
We may just stick with the Celebrity for the "fancy" cruises for now.....

Yes, for short cruises Celebrity is still our number one, but Oceania has become a favorite to compete with Holland America for very long cruises. Of course Royal Caribbean has the most extravagant shows!

Oceania's dress code is country club casual. No formal nights. They only discourage jeans, shorts, and sneakers at restaurants in the evening. Guys wear a shirt with a collar. Short sleeve or long sleeve is fine. No photographers hounding you for a photo.

I’ve never sailed that itinerary. Maybe someone else can offer insight. But smaller ships like the Vista will experience more movement than larger ships.

Our first experience on Oceania was a 23 day transatlantic cruise from Miami to Venice, Italy. On our March sailing we had super calm seas the whole way. That might not have been the case during hurricane season. But my goodness, those sunsets over the ocean on sea days were spectacular!!!

We are Viking regulars, but are taking a few Oceania cruises as well. Similar market & pricing. Viking’s “feel” and personal service is better, but Oceania’s food and many restaurants are far better. The inclusions are quite similar.
