The first time I got these was when I was 6 and my family went to a church and got a box full of them and I called them bionicles for fun, and was surprised to find out it was the actual name.
For some reason I never had McDonald's until I was 19 so I always had to trade my friends for these ones but I eventually had the full set at one point. Wish I still had my Bionicle stuff, they were the coolest

While they're cheap in cost, I do remember it taking a little bit to find each one sealed

The artificial value is fucking insane on eBay. Some sets aren't even complete and they're tryn to scalp like 150 for it. Abysmal.

Funnily enough the tohunga started off as more revelent in games and advertising then the toa themselves
Idk about affordable. $30 a piece is a lot for only 8 pieces!
In that sense per piece, sure I see your point. But that's for a sealed copy. A sealed Bionicle set only costing $30 is extremely rare

Just did a quick eBay search and there certainly are a lot listed for that price. I'd recommend bricklink/setting notifications for cheaper prices
I actually looked on bricklink today (june 4th, 2024) and they were around $20-$35 complete. Jala was the most expensive, btw
