Really great videos been watching them all for nearly 3 weeks. i need more history though really enjoyed this one because of the facts you put in the description keep up the great work Guys/Gals
Oh man, it breaks my heart to see a building like this left to rot and be trashed. The bank theory fits, in Victorian times the banks would commission these immense, ornate headquarters as symbols of their power and wealth. There is a proper mix of decorative styles in the tiled section - Art Nouveau stained glass, Gothic Revival fireplaces, Queen Anne reliefs in the wall tiling and neo-Tudor tracery to the ceilings. This was the absolute pinnacle of late Victorian craftsmanship and over the top ornamentation and I love it. The rooms higher up with the fireplaces would have been departmental offices for the clerical staff, clattering with typewriters and adding machines, and right at the top, the plush offices of senior management. The tiled courtyards were a very common feature of big multi-storey Victorian buildings, designed to get light and air into the middle of the building (and that's why they used white reflective glazed brick, to bounce sunlight into the windows). My old workplace in Leeds was a converted Victorian high school with a very similar arrangement, except that it had a glass roof over it forming a huge 5-storey atrium that always reminded me of the abandoned hotel in Bladerunner. The Metropole hotel in Leeds is Art Nouveau and has a very similar external courtyard to the rear. I wish these magnificent buildings would come back into style, I am tired of modernism and all that plate glass and concrete. And I hope this one can be saved somehow too.
Loved the video, wish we could see what it looked like, when it was in good condition. I also loved the fireplaces, and the falling snow was awesome! Thanks
Great video. Beautiful features. Whoever built it had style.and whoever commissioned the build had money.the cost must have been astronomical.shame it's been left to rot😕
Fan from the old channel, and you came up on the recommended, possibly because of the KSI Vs Weller thing? I've no idea Nice to see you on RUclips once again
That tiling is absolutely incredible! Wish I could have seen it before it went to ruin. And I wonder who took the time to clean that one fireplace, and why?
Its a pity you didn't get to Northern Ireland before this year as they have just started to demolish one of the old training Barracks that was build in 1935 and closed in 2007 in my home tow. Would have been a brilliant area to explore and to have documented.
Great video, it reminded me of the time I went to the bank and I waited out side a 8:45 ready for it to be open at 9am. 38 minutes later and a builder walks inside and the place is being demolished. I was not happy. Love you Dan thank u
been watching these bids for some time and some of the places you get you get into are amazing. if this was a bank chances are they would have had large safes rather than a vault they would have been used in larger central bank's that's my thinking. it's so annoying how these places get vandalised some of the wood work and that fireplace are great makes my fireplace look like a paupers hole. would love to go exploring again but at 53 I don't think the wife would be to impressed lol keep on filming guys.
Really great video Dan. That place is insane. There had to be more then just a bank in that building. It’s huge all those rooms on all those floors. I liked the courtyard. It had a lot of interesting design to the place. Those fireplaces are so crazy looking. Can’t wait to see what you bring us next. 😍
"Bucky just don't look down" Lol!! Sketchy isn't the word for it LOL!!! Whats up with the doors stacked on top of each other? My God i was for sure that top door was gonna fall on somebody Lol! the snow is awesome dude. the new Camera is freakin AWESOME I think. Man Dan you always make some AWESOME F@*%NG Videos bro. they are always Amazing and always some funny ass moments. I love em. always looking forward to a NOTIFICATION on a new video from you everyday. keep it up bro. EXPLORING WITH FIGHTERS RULES!!!! and don't forget it.
Another amazing explore, great cinematics & excellent timing of nature for it to be snowing. Such a shame a building like that could be left to go to ruin. Keep up the good work x
Dan, like you said, the 1st floor is pretty awesome. Amazing how everything else was completely destroyed yet noone touched the tiles on the fireplace or walls nearby. Thank God they didn't. The first floor alone should at least be restored to original beauty. Nice find. I look forward to your U.K. videos when Josh and friends are slow with the uploads . You're really a good video creator. Following you from Josh in USA.
Wow! Beautiful detail work on those fireplaces. Just amazing!! The courtyard was creepy, indeed. I'm with you all, don't take heights too well either. The going down is the worst part, for sure. Great explore, Dan.
They just don't make them like that anymore. Imagine the cost of the tiles never mind the cost to lay them. I bet a tiler of today couldn't do that sort of detailed works.
Ok thanks, only recently started to watch your channel, find it very interesting . All work my way through all the vids eventually . Keep up the good work fella, fascinating stuff
Great work as ever mate, definitely has that spooky air with the slowly falling snow. Can't wait until you guys go on tour again, it's going to be epic! Looks too big for a bank but what do I know?! Fascinating stuff, look forward to the next one. PS - Why do you call him Bucky? My name's Buckley, family from Manchester and I look a bit like him, wondered if we could be distant relatives haha!
Yes you wasn't kidding you saved the best until last. I really liked the fire places and the snow falling was my favourite part. Definitely a bank looks like it
What a lovely building this must have been, I looked up Alfred Waterhouse and he designed a great many cool buildings. Video is Well done. Thank you for beeping out the colorful language. I often watch these videos with my niece and nephew. Future explorers they are 5 and 7 years old.. Another channel didn't beep out the language and of coarse the kids repeated the words to the parents getting me in HOT water. Your work just keeps getting better and better. I hope someone is going to salvage all of that tile work. Blessings
The fact that they haven't covered the roof and are allowing all of that snow and rain to come in just makes me think they'll just knock the place down. Those floors will give way eventually, surely. It's a shame really, it could make a good museum or something, if it were preserved and done up properly. Anyways, excellent video mate as usual, glad I'm subscribed! Take care ; )
Such a beautiful building in parts I would hope that someone would restore to its former state , the decoration and such is remarkable, I reckon your right it may have been a bank at one time
I love watching your videos. You find some great places to explore. I do wish there wasnt scum in this world that go in and wreck and vandalised these places. There great for you explorers to investigate but would be nice without the graffiti etc.
I want to cry when l see beautiful items left to rot, like that fire place. Arnt you temped to salvage a part of history? Especially knowing it's going to be demolished, and generations will miss out on this. Yes l know it's videod for posterity. It's just sad that we strive to save our mansions, using lottery funding. Yet we neglect more and more are social history that we live side by side with. but it's not the same . Get of your arse national Trust. 😠😠😠
Reminds me of some of the former banks etc in Manchester that are now bars. Stunning glazed fireplaces and tile work! worth a fortune as practically no where in the world makes that stuff of that quality anymore. such a shame....
nice video , the middle of the building looks like the view from your hotel window at the metropole hotel blackpool thats all white tiles in the middle and pipes a right shit hole lol 😂👍
Oh man this place has got a Silent Hill/Resident Evil vibe to it. Now which way the zombies popping out from...... 😁?. The music makes it darm creepy. Damm that snow. How much you pay for the camera?
I wondered why it looked different, untill you said, the camera is deffinatly better, shame about the harry potter shit those triangle tiles were gorgeous they don't make shit like that now,not unless you take out a second mortgage for it and call it BESPOKE, lol
I didn't know you asked for money.on a previous video someone had observed this and you said we don't ask anyone for money.there is a link below to donate don't you get money of u tube,adverts....i now know why they have said this.
I’m just waiting for the creepy nurses to walk down the halls 😂 imagine!!! ☠️💀. Bucky will probably run 🏃♂️ back down them steps without thinking twice about the height 😂😭. I love the fire places, shame about the bolt 😊.

Some beautiful tile work on the walls and the fireplaces
It's a shame the ground floor of the bank was trashed. That tiled architecture was stunning. Must have looked amazing in it's day.
Looks mashing thanks for the video mates ... Colorado out.....
Great explore. Liked the banks tiles and décor. The rest of the building feels like old apartments. Thanks for sharing.
Wow after that entrance you all just did I'd be so glad I made it in. Success. Thanks for another great video.
Really great videos been watching them all for nearly 3 weeks. i need more history though really enjoyed this one because of the facts you put in the description keep up the great work Guys/Gals

Why do vandals have to ruin a beautiful building regardless of abandonment.?! Yet another great explore guys.
Beautiful design elements in the bank area. Art Deco, I think.
Awesome video man film footage is quality keep it all up mate
Loved the video, wish we could see what it looked like, when it was in good condition. I also loved the fireplaces, and the falling snow was awesome! Thanks

That place is in serious bad shape to be made of bricks. That green ceiling was something else to say the least.
