@@Muircetach Which is weird because it references a battle that happens in the 1500s between the Catholics and the Ottomans, and the poem itself was written in 1911. Which is a little strange for a Cyclops in ancient Greece in a mythological setting to be reciting. Supposedly before any of that happened... In a world where monotheistic religions probably wouldn't exist so those empires wouldn't exist... So that battle never happened... So that poem wouldn't be written... But you know, it sounds cool I guess?
So's the french. The french dub is generally fantastic, but Gargarensis' voice suits perfectly. His tone just sounds slightly off at times, but the rest is perfect.
If you listen to unused dialog lines from him, you get that he is reciting parts of poems that match the situation. Like he has heard a oracle about the things that will transpire in the future. I hate that his voice does not sound mystical enough in retold. Kills his vibe for me.
If it was the real Gargarensis about to be beheaded, he'd have a ton of poems and epics to quote first. That was the actual giveaway
1:37 His *NOOOOOOO* is so overdramatic
One of my favorite villains of all time: A cultured cyclops warlord that causes earthquakes and meteors, what's there not to like?
I never got the poetry thing... still that made him more unique
I think the poetry is ritualistic chants.
@@TheAcb9 It's literally lines from the poem Lepanto, by G.K. Chesterton.
@@Muircetach cool

he's cultured. he's a philosopher. he's not just a villain.
As much as I loved the Titans expansion, Kryos had absolutelly _NOTHING_ on this unapologetically theatrical bastard.
✋😌👌
There is even an unnused dialogue in which Amanra says " I do not like this Krios, Gargarensis was not so sarcastic."
The german voice of him is absolutely incredible

The Brazilian portuguese one is just top notch as well
Spanish voice is iconic for me

Just as they got Arkantos' old voice actor, I wish they had brought back Gargarensis' as well. The new one just sounds like he's trying too hard.
This voice acting is way better than in the one they just put on game pass
Old VA did a better job giving this guy some character and nuance compared to the one in Retold
I wish he still was in retold
Why was this premiered
I love aom :3
Same ^_^
