Identifying Candidates for Advanced Heart Failure Therapies

Many patients who could benefit from advanced heart failure therapies, such as heart transplantation or left ventricular assist device implantation, are too often referred for evaluation too late in their disease course or not at all. According to Drs. Jessica Golbus and Heming Yao from the University of Michigan, artificial intelligence may be able to help identify such patients so that they can be referred more quickly, improving their chances of survival.
