really appreciate that you included the fact you wished so hard for the apartment and then didn't get it - this has happened to me so many times and i would feel silly i'd created such an emotional attachment only to have it not happen. seeing that others do this too made me feel so much better. best of luck for the rest of the search - i always think that things fall apart to make way to better things. i am so sure that the flat that ends up being yours will be even more perfect than the one you lost :) thank you for taking us along in this journey, moya! xxx

vicariously living through moya’s paris videos
i dont know how much i believe in fate and god and all those stuff, but when things dont go the way i want them to, i've been comforting myself saying better things are on their way. that there are stuff, things (universe, spirits, angels- whatever you'd like) that look after me and want the best for me. and i feel like it has been true.
i took a gap year before uni (mended friendships that i love so much), did worse in the uni exam (but actually went to a place that i liked a lot more), recently got rejected by so many jobs (scored a job thats waayyyy better than the ones i got rejected at) and smaller things in the daily life that i cant write rn.
so hopefully youll find an apartment to live and be sooo happy in it. looking forward to the future vlogs

As for the apartment hunting: I used to live in Versailles and it is the cutest town on earth and the train from there is only 40 min. Lower prices and an ability to live in a house is a plus

this is the only Moya video that got me a bit stressed but it's cause i have lowkey anxiety just thinking about when i was looking for apartments in île de france like stressful isn't even the word i was almost dropping my masters and going back to brazil

omg moya - house hunting is the worst thing ever. i house hunted for almost a year in ams and only got a house after i cried in front of a real estate agent !! so if you are desperate and really want a place, cry your eyes out. people will cave and understand your situation then. sending you all the luck, good wishes and prayers in your way and hopefully you will soon find your dream apartment

just got done with our own apartment hunt; we saw over 30 apartments and it took the entire summer to actually get our dream one.... def the hardest task of moving to paris

I viewed the apartment in the 4th too, also got rejected even though it was well within our budget. Apparently the landlord is incredibly picky and rejected multiple viewings before our group.

As a French, I advise you not to be too picky on your 1st apartment. Say yes to everything and see if you are accepted. You can still look for a better one later. But people here are very reluctant to rent to foreigners, especially young ones that don't do a regular job. Good luck!
