To be fair the heavyweight bjj division is filled with people on steroids especially the Brazilians. If I were competing against them I’d feel forced to start taking gear too.
If I’m competing in the bjj heavyweight division against a bunch of people on gear (especially Brazilians who are notorious for it) I’m going to use it too. Ryan wasn’t really left with any other option here and I’m someone who would rather see the sport drug free.

Then where do you draw the line…caffeine and stimulants(greenies) were openly available in baseball for years and now that they aren’t the guys chug energy drinks like they’re going out of style. I want to see the biggest home runs, the fastest and most agile athletes so go for it. If I wanted to see “normal” guys I would go watch softball games at my local park. As long as everyone has the ability to use…go for it. What isn’t fair is when some guys are clean because that’s the rule and then you have guys on gear. Especially in fighting sport.
Also bad mention Brazil in a negative way. Brasil has cheaters in the game as well as USA or any other competitive country. And no you cant have PEDs over the counter in Brazil , you need a doctor. Of course as anywhere there is a black market for any forbidden thing.
