Whenever I read comments like this, it’s always reactionary, with exclamation marks, and nobody explains why. They just say that and that’s it. As if everyone already agrees and knows what you’re talking about. But I can’t read your mind. I can’t see it like you do. What’s your perspective? Give me reasons why
To many this film really is the beginning of Chanbara, there were many chanbara films before this, but this one was about broken and forgotten people , that were maybe not so broken and still had hearts.
It really was but it should have instead played out: "I left something behind." "What did you leave behind." "HIS ASS WHOOPIN!!" *punch punch punch* Cu, u know Japanese samurai be talkin gangsta gangsta Bru bru. Historical facts 🤣
I love how in-tune with nature the Japanese people are. They built their houses around beautiful trees to stay in-touch with mother earth as much as possible.
That´s because of their religion, the shinto religion is godless religion depsite what many people says about it. They believe in different spirits called kamis that represent nature, they had a spirit for trees, for rivers, mountains, etc. And they believe that for one to elevate yourself spiritualy, "you have to see thinks like kamis does" (you have to be close to nature).
Very good learning on different things that goes on in life of people that are really Blind, it's like that every where. I appreciate the zatoichi , even in life the blind could see, and the see are lie'rs for the greed of money you could lose your world..
Zatoichi super exemplifies the japanese custom of humility, courtesy, and backing up a threat with lethal force. i loved these movies as a kid. The one where he slices a Go board in half (20 inches thick or something like that) is probably the best moment in all of the series. Gotta find that scene!
Humility is always smart. Pride cometh before a fall. The thing about humility is you never underestimate the situation or your foe. It is hard to fool a humble man or women.
Reminds me of a kung fu movie I saw while traveling in Morroco in 1974. The protagonist was blinded by the opposing gang. He trained himself to fight blind and the climatic scene had him fighting the entire gang on the bare steel girders of a high-rise in construction. He used a farmers adze as a weapon, leaping from beam to beam, up and down the stories. Morrocans were crazy for kung fu, and, for a while we traveled with young Japanese guy. However, he had to leave because he couldn't handle the mobs of young boys pretending to practice kung fu everywhere we walked. lol
If only Ichi would have married Tane. She’d still be alive (which she really is in real life) and he could have settled nicely. Oh yeah, they’re fictional. Too bad.
I am blind in one eye. When I was a child they had to bandage both eyes for a month so I could not see. I could tell if someone was present looking at me through the window. It is amazing what your other senses tell you if you listen.
万里昌代さん、きれいだね、2022年で85歳、健在です。
白黒の頃の座頭市本当に良いですね。それにしても、昔の女優さん達の綺麗なこと。
Yes. Classic beauties.
How beautiful, how profound! Entertainment was much more than Entertainment back in the time of Katsu Shintaro.
