  • A test of powering a 10" miter saw with the Jackery 1500, Bluetti AC200P, and EcoFlow Delta Pro. I was shocked one of these units couldn't handle the saw!

    Good video. I’m a builder and I can say our EcoFlow delta 2 max runs our chop saw and fridge/freezer and 4 battery chargers , all day with 1 EcoFlow 220 solar panel , with 25 % left every day .

      That’s awesome. I’ll bet the neighbors appreciate not hearing a genny droning on all day long.

      Quick question, there's a lot of options for the EcoFlow.. what you out think is the least expensive model to go with that could power up a miter saw like the one you have?

    • @TheBigHeavy
      @TheBigHeavy  Год назад +1

      Theoretically, the 1000W model (here: amzn.to/3LkEiEF) I have should work, and it's run a high-draw coffee maker and in my opinion is the best 1000W power bank on the market right now.
      That said, the Jackey should also theoretically work and passed the coffee test, yet failed with the saw so I'm hesitant to unequivocally say the EcoFlow will work. Amazon should allow for an easy return if it doesn't, or next time I need to cut some lumber I'll hook up the saw to the EcoFlow and whatever else I have lying around that I haven't tested. I don't have any big projects on the immediate horizon so it might be a bit.

    I've been trying to figure out if one of these is an option for my shed where I use a saw similar to this one and a table saw and router occasionally. Seems like it's possible.

      It should work and I was frankly a bit surprised how much you can run your saw. I guess it's logical considering most of the power draw is to start the blade, and you're only cutting for 5-30 seconds at a time.
      You could throw a solar panel on your shed roof to keep the power bank charged, and you'd be sawing "green!"

      @@hillustration I'd probably go with something in the 1500-2000 aHr range. I've been happy with the Ecoflow units (I have the massive 3000 aHr one and the smaller 1000 aHr but they have a variety of sizes) or the Bluetti did a nice job running the saws. In either case, if you're not in a hurry, look for sales, particularly around holidays, Black Friday, Prime Day, etc.

      The aHr rating is for the capacity of the battery while the other rating is how much power it can deliver at once. The latter is key for whether or not it will start up your saws. I'd look for something with 1500W of inverter power, and maybe a peak rating of 2000W or more. Capacity is more around how long you want to run your saws. As you can see from the video I got a good half day with plenty of battery to spare from the 2000aHr Bluetti. You'll probably have to read the "fine print" to get the inverter ratings, as the "headline" number is usually capacity (e.g. the Jackery 1500 has a 1500 aHr capacity but less capable inverter).

    This feels like apples to oranges. The eco flow has twice the capacity as the jackery. A more fair comp would be the jackery 3000

      The Jackery inverter has the juice to handle the saw, at least judging by the spec sheet. My theory is that the motor generates some sort of electrical noise that throws off the Jackery's inverter. If you look up the Latte test, the 1500 handled a 1800W draw from an espresso machine just fine.
      I'd do some sort of a retest, but my Jackery 1500 has unceremoniously decided to stop working. I'm in the process of checking with Jackery to see if there's a fix.
