Totally agree on the influence part. That’s one thing I struggle with as I need teams from other departments to help fix or identify an issue to resolve the problem/ project I’m handling. This comes with experience and is handled in different ways in different org. Is there a course / certification that helps with learning how to influence, persuade. Etc.
@Dav gk, thank you for sharing that feedback, I completely agree with you as well. I've added this as a future video idea to talk about, and also about courses learning how to influence & persuade other team members
Hi Alvin. I love the channel and its very informative. I'm actually scheduled to take the CAPM tomorrow. Trying to knock it out before the exam change next month. Quick question, I'm transitioning into project management and scrum and plan to get the PSM in a month or two. After that if I wanted to add another credential should I get an ITIL or lean six sigma certification for maximum job marketability? Is it true that lean six sigma is more for manufacturing waterfall projects and ITIL would be more appropriate for agile scrum IT applications?
@James W, good luck with your CAPM Exam! For the Certifications you want to pursue, it will depend on what industry and field you're applying to. I recommend searching for jobs in the company and industry you want to apply (e.g. on glassdoor, linkedin, etc), and see what Certifications typically appear. Prioritize those certifications first, since that is what your employers will be caring about the most when you update your resume. From my own personal experience and when I was job hunting, I've found that the Six Sigma Certifications are more for business improvements / operations (ex: Operations Program Manager, Operational Excellence Manager, etc). However, I have seen it in other PM type roles as well, but it will depend on your niche. Some companies also place a very strong emphasis on ITIL or PMI-ACP, but it will depend on what company you apply to. Hope that helps!
@@alvinthepmofficial Thanks for the reply. I passed above target and your videos helped. I'm going to take PSM in a couple weeks. I think for a 3rd cert it'll be ITIL or PSPO as they'll be more relevant to an IT project management career path.
