gday mate .. the only thing missing from the ‘yakety sax’ bit was Laura chasing you in a police uniform. man I luv this truck .. glad its finally getting a video or two. cheers from Australia🍻🤘
1940. My Dad born that year. That was a stylish machine for hauling pigs. Well you got a good base. Just in parts aline these days. Prices gone nuts. Good winter project. Always got to keep your hands on the tools. Be looking cool for spring and totally worked and safe . Good look. Great find. 👍👍✌️🇬🇧
I think the car would look great the same color as the dash. I left that comment when you first showed the car. I have a picture of it in my head. I also have a 40 ford sedan model which is still kicking around from when I was about well we will say over 50 years ago that looks so cool that color.

Great video as usual... good to see you move on to your '40' Seems it's got all the right bits...just in all the wrong places😂 Well worth the effort you put in though Lee...superb truck! Its just gonna get better and better with time....makes great viewing sir.....Shame about the rain....wipers on the list maybe?

OIW, how is ur new work table working-out? congrats on finally getting the rear-end the way it should have been made. 40 Ford Truck sounds great. have a beer on me Mate.
let me guess you blew a tire at high speed and were lucky you didn't flip the truck. I been there done that but I flipped my car back in 1983. But you have to give stuff you work on a road test to find out if everything works the way its supposed to. Thanks for the video
* Mr. Anderson quite the mess there. I'm a little surprised you didn't give it a once over before driving it. Hope you got the Christmas gift I sent. Cheers Buddy 👊😎👍p.s. heard Benny Hill died watching tv ...🤭 all shop trucks need the name of the shop on the door...
We never complain about rain in Texas, we need every drop we can get. The 2 in 1 Rain X washer fluid from Walmart works wonders on glass to bead up and blow away rain drops. I keep it in a spray bottle and use it to clean my glass and its beading effect lasts a long time.
Always the risk when buying someones modified vehicle...lucky it's landed with someone as skilled and capable as yourself to get right. Will it be getting a chop?
Starting with the interior - red(ish) dash, blue & white fabrics - with a little more white. Exterior white crown on the cab, mix of red n blue with a little white or silver for accents. SUBTLE COLOR(S) all around, Not bright or garish !!
That truck has such a cool look! Some people take the DIY thing too far...and if someone got paid to do that work....they need to put that money towards welding school! Nice to see you removing the "dark engineering" in favor of the much more quality work you do! Keep up the good work man!
I never like to discourage people from doing their own thing. Regardless, we’re always capable of doing better work. Even though the welds might not be very pretty, it was technically structurally sound.
I’m all for repairing the poor workmanship cut and replacing frame pieces and the c notches, I am more thinking a new Art Morrison chassis would eliminate other hidden surprises under there.
The person who did the previous frame modifications should have their tools taken away from them. As Dirty Harry said, “a man’s got know his limitations”. The rear suspension is now a 1,000% better than it was.
Thanks for sharing, always interesting and exciting!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's a whole lotta paint-it-black-and-no-one-will-notice welding... The Benny Hill music was a nice touch!
Last Responder!!! A classic for sure!!

Yeah I’ve been itching to get some things going on for sure
Nice job replacing the chassis look like Stevie Wonder did some welding on that truck very nice job
Part of your driveway looks great, the rest of it is too clean ! Another excellent video man.
Nice job on the c notch, way better than before. Your truck is super nice, I wish I had a 1940 ford truck as a daily driver 😊
Perhaps one day I’ll buy a newer old car
love the Benny Hill music nice touch
Ha I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that
Awesome work nice truck 👍
Im a texture welder myself.....But nobody knows because I spend alot of money on flap disks 😂😂
Great vid ! You went alot deeper than I thought.
Me too. Putting down a decent looking weld is a lot harder than it looks.

Great job as always !
O hell yeah that's badass love those ol trucks
It’s a lot like me, old and beat up but still kinda fun
Good job old mate better than the last person some people should never be allowed to touch tools lol
😂😂😂😂😂🥃🥃
Thanks. 🍻
Beautiful truck..love the roof liner idea..
It's a lucky Dip mate anyway by the time you get all your work like I say it will be great workmanship like all ways mate it and you did mate
Love the new air bushings on the shocks bet they increase the fun of the ride
It rides about 200% better
Well that was worth waiting for! In awe of your knowledge, skill & innovation.

Yeah, I’m thinking of pulling off something similar. But more of a primer I’m definitely not at a point in my life where I wanna paint it.
@@Theoldironworkshop Oh yes the paint and body work will have the truck off the road for a long time, but definitely worth it in the end.
When I worked for full throttle suspension, welds were so fire, a lil Sand blasting and ready to powder coat or chrome up. 🍻
Yeah, that doesn’t happen to my garage
Awesome as always, thanks I have 47 mercury with original sliding rear window and heater, original body , I’m in Canada
@@frankhagar4651 47 merc pickups are rare. I have a 47 merc m7 business coupe that's "shall we say" modified. 🤭
Good to see you and my favorite truck
How is the family
The family is doing well! Thanks for asking.

Always fun cleaning up after someone else, keep the hood and maybe red oxide primer🤔 great work thanks for sharing.
I like the look of the pickup as it is. Nice patina. 👍💯

I’m actually a sucker for wagons too.
You got Dutch weather ;) . Nice job .
Same weird feeling, just replaced my upper rear control arm bushings. Totally gone. He must of had the harbour freight goober welder 1000. lol

Well thank you very much
Glad you enjoy the decal. Looking the crap you cut out was yucky. If you can't weld good weld alot.😮
Always great content.............
dammm dude you got a claw hammer yeaa
I actually really like that hammer. It’s quite heavy and the claw portion makes a good lever for prying things. Caveman tech.
I like a color of the dash to the external with pin stripe and cromers
You deserve a break from Mabel. Enjoy the change of scenery, working on the Ford! Just bought my Mabel hoodie from your store.
Thank you. I really need to pull the trans and rebuild it.

If you are planning to put a color on the truck my vote would be for a dark satin green .
Hi there mate it would look shithot in satin black mate I like the cool wheels. On your
Cool 1940 mate
@@davidwoodham1307 I believe those rims are Raidar repo's. Sweet ...
Can't believe those welds on the rear end mounting brackets! Don't reckon they would pass any kind of inspection, here in OZ.
You would be surprised at what we get away with
OIW, how is ur new work table working-out? congrats on finally getting the rear-end the way it should have been made. 40 Ford Truck sounds great. have a beer on me Mate.
That table is like one of the greatest things that’s ever happened to me. It seems so very simple in theory but heck it makes things so much better.
For teh rear fenders what about model T esk style fenders. Of course with your flair added
maybe hacking up the 54 ford pickup rear fenders

Actually, the spindle nut came off. Yeah I flipped over my service van four years ago. That is hopefully a one time life experience. That was scary.
Yup. A grinder makes the welder you ain't!
Thank you

Pulling her trans today
Have you thought about a chop for the 40?
Of course.

Not one person likes all negative just a ideal

Think Stevie Wonder could’ve laid down better welds
We all start somewhere
You were the person who purchased the vehicle, did you even inspect it before you bought it ??????
bought sight unseen
Nope it looked cool in photos and it was good enough for me. I knew before I bought it. I’d be doing things so it’s not a big deal personally.
The person who did the previous frame modifications should have their tools taken away from them. As Dirty Harry said, “a man’s got know his limitations”. The rear suspension is now a 1,000% better than it was.
Caddy 390 ---> Mabel ... LS ---> Pickup ? 🙄
Yeah, I know I should’ve pulled the 390 caddy motor out and put in the hearse. And then drop the LS in my truck. Heck the day is still young.
@@Theoldironworkshop Great work fixing the four link. Love the truck!
