Shirou and artoria both regretted their entire life and only in this chapter do we really get to see their efforts rewarded. Needless to say, this ending is very beautiful.

Anong Chang the anime was too old, I don’t know when this version of fate came out but the anime was 2006. If ufotable makes a remake they’ll probably add this ending.

Out of all the endings with the visual novel, I absolutely LOVED this one! It's bittersweet because they could only reunite in the afterlife. But this way, Saber and Shiro can always be together. Their reunion is poetic and beautiful, and just watching this makes you feel at ease.
A certain King of Heroes once said: “There are things that are beautiful because they are unobtainable” I think he was trying to hint us that the beautiful ending here is unobtainable for animation because it is beautiful. But even so I will keep praying that Fate route gets a remake with this ending. I love Shirou and Artoria so much! They were written in such a way that it's almost impossible for me to not wish that they have their happiness together. Fate route is still my favorite of the 3. I really wish to see it animated well with the newer technology in the present along with this ending.

Among the three routes, the Saber route might be the lowest chance the Shirou might sacrifice himself for his ideals, while UBW and Heaven feels has a high chance to sacrifice himself. The Saber route his ideals become secondary, he continued to pursue his ideals while totally engraving his promise to Saber in his mind, this will prevent him from sacrificing himself for his ideals, while in the other route especially UBW he has a high chance to sacrifice himself for his ideals because he almost doesn't change except he won't become a Counter Guardian like Archer. In heaven feels he would 100% chance sacrifice himself for Sakura if something happen to her. Both UBW and heaven feels has some low self-preservation. One has a promise to keep to someday reunite, one continued to pursue an impossible ideals with his whole being and lastly, one committed himself to save one even it would result everyone and himself dead. And lastly in Avalon theirs no one to consider an enemy and he doesn't age due to special property of Avalon, so they will probably until the end of time. A little bit of reminder, unlike the Land of Shadow which was destroyed after the Human Incineration Order of Solomon, Avalon is still intact, the proof of that is Merlin.
Eons of searching. Millenia of waiting. Both Shirou and Artoria must stay on this purgatorial path, with the only thing retaining their sanity and determination is the hope of seeing each other once again. It's beautiful that after so long, do they finally receive their eternal reward.
Or maybe just until Shirou dies. No need to take the most pessimistic view. Even in the best case scenario she was waiting for more than millenia and a half, not knowing if he'll pursue.
I cried like a bitch for these 10 minutes reading this, why couldn't they have added this to anime. This is so romantic and beautiful my heart wants to forsake me, I feel unworthy of ever saying I loved or was loved looking how beautiful love can truly be. I know this is unrealistic but so romantic. The two miracles one who wouldn't stop pursuing and one who wouldn't stop waiting, truly they are. Whoever wrote this I want to meet him, the great genius of the human heart!
Shirou and Saber have one of the most beautiful romances of all fictional couples. You don't easily come across fictional couples where both lovers love each other so much, they never stopped trying to find or wait for them, even when they're dead.

I like to think that the Shirou in this ending is really just EMIYA free of his duties for good. It's impossible at the very core, but that's what the story was trying to say this entire time. Passing on peacefully like this is one of the best endings Archer could ever get.
Fate route Shirou follows a similar path as Archer EMIYA, but still surpasses his journey by far as this indicates...so even saying that they are not 100% the same, its just a matter of thinking that one right decision during his 5th war could have changed Archer's future for the better, like every FSN Shirou surpasses archer no matter the route

The Fate route was adapted to a TV anime by studio DEEN in 2006, but this scene specifically is exclusive to the remake of the original Fate visual novel. It (Realta Nua) released in 2011. The reason this scene wasn’t originally in the anime was because, bluntly, it didn’t exist yet. The original visual novel ended with Merlin’s monologue about how “one must wait eternally, and the other must pursue endlessly.”

@@calibrus9589 actually , HF is between the good and the bad for me, it's not my favorite. I really like the emiya who is sacrificing all his strengh for one person with his op arm. But actually the romance in there i really think its the most bad of the 3 route because i dont like sakura. In fate stay night we have the history of saber, a good relation more pushed between the servant and the master but the shirou is the less powerfull on it. In ubw we have one of the most powerfull shirou with the best twist in the fate serie about emiya being the heroic spirit of shirou hero's dream, and with have also tosaka who help shirou in all the route and developped their relationship and all. So i like all the route, each one show a new side of shirou spirit, but for me me hf seems like the last story where we know everything( but we just learn about sakura's past) and we have juste all the epic fight we wanted with i think is the most powerfull shirou

Actually, people who have seen the animated Last Episode clarified that it only lasted around 15 seconds and it was just the "Welcome back, Shirou" part of the ending that was animated.
Imagine he came back and instead of the young Artoria, he found Lartoria on her white horse. I imagine Merlin shows up and say at the same time "Sorry, I must run to Uruk, something with a beast and a mother of life, nothing to worry"
I both hate and love this ending. I love they they're finally together but I hate it's only after death. It's just so bittersweet. I want Saber to be given the chance to live a long happy life after all her sorrows so badly. 😭😭😭
There are infinite timelines and we know in ubw she stays around because she wants to be with shirou more. Im sure there is a timeline where the same happens in fate route somehow
I don't care what anyone says. Fate route will always be my favorite route. It may be the most simple route but it's the one that I was more emotionally-driven to compared to UBW and HF. It's where the romance is at its best (MY OPINION), Saber's character was explored the most, the basement scene where I completely fell in love with Shirou's character, being the only route where Gilgamesh actually accepts his defeat and showing how similar Shirou and Saber are (and yet different too).
What makes Fate Route good: -Both Saber and Shirou being really deep and masterpiece characters -Romance -Avalon Ending What makes UBW good: Shirou and Archer thats it What makes HF good: -Shirou -Kirei -Illya -Salter
Look man, u can overhype fate route as much as you want, but that doesn't means you have the right to downplay the other 2 routes to make it seem Fate is the only good one. UBW: -The only route that actually gives us a clear insight of Shirou's ideologies and fleshed his character. -The only route that gives the remaining servants (except Medusa) and actual development and insight of their character. -Gilgamesh is actually treated as a villain with a more interesting ideology more than just simping for Saber. -Said by Nasu himself, the most realistic and balanced relationship, that being Shirou and Rin. We are talking about the man that said shirou x Saber was the relationship he was the least satisfied with. HF: -The route with the most fleshed out characters. Kirei, Rin, Illya, Medusa and Sakura all fo them reach their peak here. -Better management of lore dump compared to Fate route's boring SoL scenes used as excuse for info explanation. -The one that has more connections to other works in Nasuverse. -Sparks Liner High is easily the best "bad" end in the whole visual novel and has the best fight as well. -A good management of Shirou as a character, many think this is the best Shirou in Stay Night. -Overall considered by Nasu as the peak of all the themes he wanted to expose with Fate. You can pretend Fate route is the peak of storytelling and whatever, but never ever disrespect UBW and HF. There is an obvious reason why people like those 2 more than Fate route.

So I have a theory about something, in Grand Order one of the upcoming Lostbelts is in Avalon, I know it’s not likely, but what if we get sent to a point where Realta Rua happens in that Lostbelt and we have to destroy it...wouldn’t that give you feels

Well, Fate Shirou is a Shirou that probabbly develops the same powers that Archer had as a human at the momment of his death; and now is in a spirit form. I think that, on this state, this Shirou can do things that UBWShirou will never be able to do.
Shirou here follows a similar journey with Archer, being the Hero of Justice for live, gaining the white hair and tanned skin during that. He is still mere human instead of a Guardian Spirit like Archer. And unlike him, Shirou never lost faith in humanity and never giving up on his new goal. To reach Avalon.

From that year (2004) into when the chaldea master was shown up (2017).. it just 13 years after the fight. I think Shirou still alive that time, but we never see him. I'd say while this ending is great! But F/SN has a fanfic(Fate In-Time) ending. As it is only fitting for F/SN that a traced-on ending finished up the story. , I call it the "Miracle ending". Not only because it fits the theme but more importantly, my heart cries in both the endings.
In one hand, I want ufotable to remake the route, on the other hand, I don't want cuz something tells me that the usual "Rin is better" "This ship doesn't have any sense" "Why the turned Saber into a waifu, in Zero she was better" "Irisviel and Saber had more chemistry" kind of haters will jump to try to piss people off.
Considering ufotable’s track record for adapting the vn has been pretty shit, I’d be happy if they don’t adapt the fate route. Like something’s telling me if this scene gets fully animated(they animated a short clip of it already for the Type-Moon museum) they probably won’t even include this ost.
This might be a bit long but here goes: Archer's story was similar to the Fate's route, except for one key difference: Archer couldn't change Saber's mind. It not really sure what happen or how Archer failed, but he did. This meant that Archer and Saber in his timeline walked two different paths at the end, paths that like in the Fate's route warned, would lead to nothing but misery and pain to reality. Fate's route Shirou on the other hand, did convince Saber, his love and protection to keep her safe because he valued her not as a Servant, but as a human, a girl, a woman he loved. Shirou manage to open Saber's eyes that she already lived a life as a king, therefore she no longer needs to restart her life again to renew her "duty". Instead Shirou made Saber open the life she kept closed forever, the life of being a girl who could fall in love, laugh, and smile, and cry. When Saber understood Shirou's feeling, she came to realize that restarting everything would defeat the purpose of all the sacrifices that people in her life endured and gave towards her (as Shirou rejected the choice of the Holy Grail to revive everyone who died back in 1994 as it would spit in the lives of everyone who had to suffer, sorrow, sacrifice, but most importantly, endured so much to the people they loss). When Saber destroyed the Grail, she did so with no regrets. Rather she did know with the knowledge that she was happy. Unlike every other heroic spirit who returns back to the Throne of Heroes, Saber rejected it, thereby no longer making her a Servant, a Heroic Spirit to fight, as she chose Avalon instead as it was rightfully returned to her thanks to Shirou. The monologue bit if your a bit confused is just Merlin stating how Saber's dream is too ambitious, and too many variables. Merlin tells Saber that the miracle for such a dream is beyond the Holy Grail and she would have to wait for Shirou to be born, live his life, then somehow find a way to enter Avalon before he dies, so he can be with her.Also if Saber decides to give up on the dream early, then it would be nothing but agony and pain for eternity.

Also, l guess my main confusion is why both Fate shirou and archer still went about their dreams but got two different endings. I understand the issues with Saber thanks to you but Shirou is where it gets confusing. I know fate shirou gave her back Avalon and archer probably didn't get to that stage or he did but failed to convince her. But then why would Shirou be welcomed into Avalon and how did he avoid archers mistakes?
" How did he avoid Archer's mistakes?" When Saber and Shirou argued in Ep 20 about their dream and goal on Fuyuki Bridge, Shirou left Saber as their argument got nowhere. Shirou wasn't mad that Saber was wrong, but rather that what Saber said to him was true, every single bit of it. He realized that both of them were hypocritically wrong, yet it was still in their right to believe the way they were. Shirou would come back and find Saber still there, who tells Shirou, "What should I do?" after Shirou told her before leaving her, "Do whatever the hell you want." Saber saying this is what allowed Shirou to change her mind from her original goal because this is Saber, as herself, asking Shirou for advice/help, as she never once thought about what she wanted to do. All Saber knew in her life was how to act like a king, but now she being put in a position where she doesn't know how to be "herself". The fight against Gilgamesh also reinforce their relationship when Saber learned that in a literal and a figurative way, that Shirou was always, "her shield, her scabbard to Excalibur." When Shirou and Saber returned back home and Shirou confessed to Saber, Saber initially refused his confession, but Shirou wanted her personal answer, to which Saber replied, "You saw my dreams. You already know my answer. Why are you being unfair to me?" Shirou asks Saber to simply push him away if she refused as he grab her by the shoulder, but Saber didn't, because she knew deep inside that Shirou is right, that she too fell in love with him. We can deduced that from Archer's timeline, this event never happened. Saber never fell in love with him, and Archer failed to sway her to her dream. "Why would Shirou be welcomed into Avalon?" Because Shirou still had pieces of Avalon in his magical circuits. Avalon being inside of Shirou for 10 years meant that Avalon's mana was flowing in his blood naturally, as if it was a piece of his soul. Even though Shirou gave Avalon back to Saber, it wouldn't remove the mana still left inside of Shirou's magical circuits that Avalon was still pulsing when it was in his body. When Shirou began his journey to find a way to reach Avalon, he probably already figured out the answer that he didn't need to search far and wide, as his body will find it way there once he dies. Though Avalon is only meant for Arthur and her knights who knew of Avalon's existence, Shirou's exception was simply because he was Avalon's casket for 10 years of his life, his body being a piece of Avalon in a sense.

The ending of the Anime made me sooo sad. It would have been great if they'd have implemented that in the anime, would have made me a lot happier. I am kinda glad we have at least a chance to know that they reunite in the end :')
i want to know what really happens here, the epilogue says Saber was just sleeping and waiting for Shirou inside Avalon, and Shirou lived a life of a machine repeating the same thing over and over again, that means this Shirou is also a guardian, then how come they can reunite?
Shirou never became Archer or a counter guardian in the Fate route if that's what you mean. The TypeMoon wiki for the Fate route emphasize it nicely: "Saber goes to Avalon after her death and waits several centuries to see Shirou again. Shirou endures many tribulations in his life and never stops believing that he will find Saber. After he dies, Shirou and Saber are joyously reunited in Avalon."
Nope. Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, although a sequel, it's not a direct sequel to F/SN endings. It's a fandisc that show us another story that happens at the end of F/SN grail war. It's more like a what if + good fanservice. The only serius (and worthy) thing in Hollow Ataraxia its Bazett(Lancer's former master) and Avenger(Angra mainyu) story. The rest its just fanservice (the good one)
The best I can figure out is... Saber was in limbo when summoned for the wars, displaced from time. So once her summoning ended she woke up beneath the tree in her dying body. So she had to die and go to Avalon, waiting for Shirou to not only be born (centuries after her death) but also go through life. When he died he reached Avalon. .... though why is difficult to say. Avalon in Arthurian legend is a mystical island where Arthur is taken to either die or for his mortal wounds to be healed, to sleep until the time comes for him to rise again. But this is Type Moon so I doubt they took that into consideration. I think Avalon is just Heaven for a certain type of person. So really the hard work was done by Saber. Poor gal. xD Shirou had it bloody easy, only waiting 100 years at most.
It is not entirely clear where Heroic Spirits end up when they die or theor contract gets terminated. In this route, Arturia eliminates the grial by her own will, gives up on her wish to change her path, and thus she has nothing more to do with the grial, so the contract that existed between them vanishes, leaving her to accept her fate, thus going to Avalon. Avalon is on the "Upside down" or "Reverse side" of the world, kind of like "Heaven" if you wish. However it is only accesible to Arturia, her knights or anyone who knows the place exists. Shirou ends up meeting her after he dies, as they shared a spiritual connection, and of course he knew of the place, so in this route, after Shirou understand that he must deviate from Archers path after dying he negates to become a heroic spirit and then goes to Avalon to reunite with his lover
There we go. I'm really watching Fate because I like the whole idea of King Arthur being female. That's awesome. Saber is really sweet too. Knowing a bit of Arthurian lore makes watching Fate REALLY confusing.

See I've only seen the UBW anime. I started the Deen anime because I figured bad or not, best to start at the beginning. But then that rape thing happened and I just... no. Saber/Shirou has the potential to be really cool but unfortunately Deen made it gross. Shirou didn't stick up for her despite being in a position of relative power. Their relationship in UBW was more respectful and equal, so I would have been fine with it if they'd gone the romance route in that context.

Out of all the endings with the visual novel, I absolutely LOVED this one! It's bittersweet because they could only reunite in the afterlife. But this way, Saber and Shiro can always be together. Their reunion is poetic and beautiful, and just watching this makes you feel at ease.
It brought some closure to my heart finally.
A certain King of Heroes once said: “There are things that are beautiful because they are unobtainable” I think he was trying to hint us that the beautiful ending here is unobtainable for animation because it is beautiful. But even so I will keep praying that Fate route gets a remake with this ending. I love Shirou and Artoria so much! They were written in such a way that it's almost impossible for me to not wish that they have their happiness together. Fate route is still my favorite of the 3. I really wish to see it animated well with the newer technology in the present along with this ending.
There are 2 miracles that needs to happen
One (the fans) must pray continously and the Other (Ufotable) must search endlessly (for time for their messed up anime scheduals)

Among the three routes, the Saber route might be the lowest chance the Shirou might sacrifice himself for his ideals, while UBW and Heaven feels has a high chance to sacrifice himself.
The Saber route his ideals become secondary, he continued to pursue his ideals while totally engraving his promise to Saber in his mind, this will prevent him from sacrificing himself for his ideals, while in the other route especially UBW he has a high chance to sacrifice himself for his ideals because he almost doesn't change except he won't become a Counter Guardian like Archer. In heaven feels he would 100% chance sacrifice himself for Sakura if something happen to her. Both UBW and heaven feels has some low self-preservation.
One has a promise to keep to someday reunite, one continued to pursue an impossible ideals with his whole being and lastly, one committed himself to save one even it would result everyone and himself dead.
And lastly in Avalon theirs no one to consider an enemy and he doesn't age due to special property of Avalon, so they will probably until the end of time. A little bit of reminder, unlike the Land of Shadow which was destroyed after the Human Incineration Order of Solomon, Avalon is still intact, the proof of that is Merlin.

Eons of searching. Millenia of waiting. Both Shirou and Artoria must stay on this purgatorial path, with the only thing retaining their sanity and determination is the hope of seeing each other once again. It's beautiful that after so long, do they finally receive their eternal reward.
Or maybe just until Shirou dies. No need to take the most pessimistic view. Even in the best case scenario she was waiting for more than millenia and a half, not knowing if he'll pursue.
I cried like a bitch for these 10 minutes reading this, why couldn't they have added this to anime. This is so romantic and beautiful my heart wants to forsake me, I feel unworthy of ever saying I loved or was loved looking how beautiful love can truly be. I know this is unrealistic but so romantic. The two miracles one who wouldn't stop pursuing and one who wouldn't stop waiting, truly they are. Whoever wrote this I want to meet him, the great genius of the human heart!

Shirou and Saber have one of the most beautiful romances of all fictional couples. You don't easily come across fictional couples where both lovers love each other so much, they never stopped trying to find or wait for them, even when they're dead.

I like to think that the Shirou in this ending is really just EMIYA free of his duties for good. It's impossible at the very core, but that's what the story was trying to say this entire time. Passing on peacefully like this is one of the best endings Archer could ever get.
Fate route Shirou follows a similar path as Archer EMIYA, but still surpasses his journey by far as this indicates...so even saying that they are not 100% the same, its just a matter of thinking that one right decision during his 5th war could have changed Archer's future for the better, like every FSN Shirou surpasses archer no matter the route

The Fate route was adapted to a TV anime by studio DEEN in 2006, but this scene specifically is exclusive to the remake of the original Fate visual novel. It (Realta Nua) released in 2011. The reason this scene wasn’t originally in the anime was because, bluntly, it didn’t exist yet. The original visual novel ended with Merlin’s monologue about how “one must wait eternally, and the other must pursue endlessly.”

@@calibrus9589 actually , HF is between the good and the bad for me, it's not my favorite. I really like the emiya who is sacrificing all his strengh for one person with his op arm. But actually the romance in there i really think its the most bad of the 3 route because i dont like sakura. In fate stay night we have the history of saber, a good relation more pushed between the servant and the master but the shirou is the less powerfull on it. In ubw we have one of the most powerfull shirou with the best twist in the fate serie about emiya being the heroic spirit of shirou hero's dream, and with have also tosaka who help shirou in all the route and developped their relationship and all. So i like all the route, each one show a new side of shirou spirit, but for me me hf seems like the last story where we know everything( but we just learn about sakura's past) and we have juste all the epic fight we wanted with i think is the most powerfull shirou

Actually, people who have seen the animated Last Episode clarified that it only lasted around 15 seconds and it was just the "Welcome back, Shirou" part of the ending that was animated.

I don't care what anyone says. Fate route will always be my favorite route. It may be the most simple route but it's the one that I was more emotionally-driven to compared to UBW and HF.
It's where the romance is at its best (MY OPINION), Saber's character was explored the most, the basement scene where I completely fell in love with Shirou's character, being the only route where Gilgamesh actually accepts his defeat and showing how similar Shirou and Saber are (and yet different too).

Look man, u can overhype fate route as much as you want, but that doesn't means you have the right to downplay the other 2 routes to make it seem Fate is the only good one.
UBW:
-The only route that actually gives us a clear insight of Shirou's ideologies and fleshed his character.
-The only route that gives the remaining servants (except Medusa) and actual development and insight of their character.
-Gilgamesh is actually treated as a villain with a more interesting ideology more than just simping for Saber.
-Said by Nasu himself, the most realistic and balanced relationship, that being Shirou and Rin. We are talking about the man that said shirou x Saber was the relationship he was the least satisfied with.
HF:
-The route with the most fleshed out characters. Kirei, Rin, Illya, Medusa and Sakura all fo them reach their peak here.
-Better management of lore dump compared to Fate route's boring SoL scenes used as excuse for info explanation.
-The one that has more connections to other works in Nasuverse.
-Sparks Liner High is easily the best "bad" end in the whole visual novel and has the best fight as well.
-A good management of Shirou as a character, many think this is the best Shirou in Stay Night.
-Overall considered by Nasu as the peak of all the themes he wanted to expose with Fate.

And you put Zero and Apicryoha as examples? Zero tossed Assassin out of the way, Diarmuid also was clearly erased with all his "plot" unresolved. Apocrypha literally only have like 3 or 4 well developed servants while the rest are just there. Frankenstein, Spartacus, Avicebron, og Siegfried, Vlad, Karna, all of them didn't had any plot nor were touched at all putsode of fight scenes.
To say that the only good part of Shirou is his PTSD is also reaching as well, and a funny thing since UBW route touches that aspect of him since the very begining while Fate route only touches it until the last parts with the basement scene. Before that you wouldn't even know he had PTSD in that route.

Well, Fate Shirou is a Shirou that probabbly develops the same powers that Archer had as a human at the momment of his death; and now is in a spirit form.
I think that, on this state, this Shirou can do things that UBWShirou will never be able to do.

This ending came from a version of the VN that was released after the 2006 anime came out. At the time of the anime, it didn't exist

From that year (2004) into when the chaldea master was shown up (2017).. it just 13 years after the fight. I think Shirou still alive that time, but we never see him. Don't you think we may met him one day in fgo? He must be about 30 y.o by the time.. it's not that far off from being too old.. don't you think he maybe will be shown in the game? And maybe help us ? I'd say while this ending is great! But F/SN has a fanfic(Fate In-Time) ending. As it is only fitting for F/SN that a traced-on ending finished up the story. , I call it the "Miracle ending". Not only because it fits the theme but more importantly, my heart cries in both the endings.

Considering ufotable’s track record for adapting the vn has been pretty shit, I’d be happy if they don’t adapt the fate route. Like something’s telling me if this scene gets fully animated(they animated a short clip of it already for the Type-Moon museum) they probably won’t even include this ost.

This might be a bit long but here goes:
Archer's story was similar to the Fate's route, except for one key difference: Archer couldn't change Saber's mind. It not really sure what happen or how Archer failed, but he did. This meant that Archer and Saber in his timeline walked two different paths at the end, paths that like in the Fate's route warned, would lead to nothing but misery and pain to reality.
Fate's route Shirou on the other hand, did convince Saber, his love and protection to keep her safe because he valued her not as a Servant, but as a human, a girl, a woman he loved. Shirou manage to open Saber's eyes that she already lived a life as a king, therefore she no longer needs to restart her life again to renew her "duty". Instead Shirou made Saber open the life she kept closed forever, the life of being a girl who could fall in love, laugh, and smile, and cry. When Saber understood Shirou's feeling, she came to realize that restarting everything would defeat the purpose of all the sacrifices that people in her life endured and gave towards her (as Shirou rejected the choice of the Holy Grail to revive everyone who died back in 1994 as it would spit in the lives of everyone who had to suffer, sorrow, sacrifice, but most importantly, endured so much to the people they loss). When Saber destroyed the Grail, she did so with no regrets. Rather she did know with the knowledge that she was happy. Unlike every other heroic spirit who returns back to the Throne of Heroes, Saber rejected it, thereby no longer making her a Servant, a Heroic Spirit to fight, as she chose Avalon instead as it was rightfully returned to her thanks to Shirou.
The monologue bit if your a bit confused is just Merlin stating how Saber's dream is too ambitious, and too many variables. Merlin tells Saber that the miracle for such a dream is beyond the Holy Grail and she would have to wait for Shirou to be born, live his life, then somehow find a way to enter Avalon before he dies, so he can be with her.Also if Saber decides to give up on the dream early, then it would be nothing but agony and pain for eternity.

Though l hear Saber isn't a true heroic spirit and doesn't it create another timeline where Saber has to wait for a new Shirou to be born which in turn creates another alternate fate route but without Saber this time? Also, l guess my main confusion is why both Fate shirou and archer still went about their dreams but got two different endings. I understand the issues with Saber thanks to you but Shirou is where it gets confusing. I know fate shirou gave her back Avalon and archer probably didn't get to that stage or he did but failed to convince her. But then why would Shirou be welcomed into Avalon and how did he avoid archers mistakes?

When Saber and Shirou argued in Ep 20 about their dream and goal on Fuyuki Bridge, Shirou left Saber as their argument got nowhere. Shirou wasn't mad that Saber was wrong, but rather that what Saber said to him was true, every single bit of it. He realized that both of them were hypocritically wrong, yet it was still in their right to believe the way they were. Shirou would come back and find Saber still there, who tells Shirou, "What should I do?" after Shirou told her before leaving her, "Do whatever the hell you want." Saber saying this is what allowed Shirou to change her mind from her original goal because this is Saber, as herself, asking Shirou for advice/help, as she never once thought about what she wanted to do. All Saber knew in her life was how to act like a king, but now she being put in a position where she doesn't know how to be "herself".
The fight against Gilgamesh also reinforce their relationship when Saber learned that in a literal and a figurative way, that Shirou was always, "her shield, her scabbard to Excalibur." When Shirou and Saber returned back home and Shirou confessed to Saber, Saber initially refused his confession, but Shirou wanted her personal answer, to which Saber replied, "You saw my dreams. You already know my answer. Why are you being unfair to me?" Shirou asks Saber to simply push him away if she refused as he grab her by the shoulder, but Saber didn't, because she knew deep inside that Shirou is right, that she too fell in love with him.
We can deduced that from Archer's timeline, this event never happened. Saber never fell in love with him, and Archer failed to sway her to her dream.
"Why would Shirou be welcomed into Avalon?"
Because Shirou still had pieces of Avalon in his magical circuits. Avalon being inside of Shirou for 10 years meant that Avalon's mana was flowing in his blood naturally, as if it was a piece of his soul. Even though Shirou gave Avalon back to Saber, it wouldn't remove the mana still left inside of Shirou's magical circuits that Avalon was still pulsing when it was in his body. When Shirou began his journey to find a way to reach Avalon, he probably already figured out the answer that he didn't need to search far and wide, as his body will find it way there once he dies. Though Avalon is only meant for Arthur and her knights who knew of Avalon's existence, Shirou's exception was simply because he was Avalon's casket for 10 years of his life, his body being a piece of Avalon in a sense.

The ending of the Anime made me sooo sad. It would have been great if they'd have implemented that in the anime, would have made me a lot happier. I am kinda glad we have at least a chance to know that they reunite in the end :')

Shirou never became Archer or a counter guardian in the Fate route if that's what you mean.
The TypeMoon wiki for the Fate route emphasize it nicely:
"Saber goes to Avalon after her death and waits several centuries to see Shirou again. Shirou endures many tribulations in his life and never stops believing that he will find Saber. After he dies, Shirou and Saber are joyously reunited in Avalon."

Nope. Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, although a sequel, it's not a direct sequel to F/SN endings. It's a fandisc that show us another story that happens at the end of F/SN grail war. It's more like a what if + good fanservice. The only serius (and worthy) thing in Hollow Ataraxia its Bazett(Lancer's former master) and Avenger(Angra mainyu) story. The rest its just fanservice (the good one)

The best I can figure out is... Saber was in limbo when summoned for the wars, displaced from time. So once her summoning ended she woke up beneath the tree in her dying body.
So she had to die and go to Avalon, waiting for Shirou to not only be born (centuries after her death) but also go through life. When he died he reached Avalon.
.... though why is difficult to say. Avalon in Arthurian legend is a mystical island where Arthur is taken to either die or for his mortal wounds to be healed, to sleep until the time comes for him to rise again.
But this is Type Moon so I doubt they took that into consideration. I think Avalon is just Heaven for a certain type of person.
So really the hard work was done by Saber. Poor gal. xD Shirou had it bloody easy, only waiting 100 years at most.
It is not entirely clear where Heroic Spirits end up when they die or theor contract gets terminated. In this route, Arturia eliminates the grial by her own will, gives up on her wish to change her path, and thus she has nothing more to do with the grial, so the contract that existed between them vanishes, leaving her to accept her fate, thus going to Avalon.
Avalon is on the "Upside down" or "Reverse side" of the world, kind of like "Heaven" if you wish. However it is only accesible to Arturia, her knights or anyone who knows the place exists.
Shirou ends up meeting her after he dies, as they shared a spiritual connection, and of course he knew of the place, so in this route, after Shirou understand that he must deviate from Archers path after dying he negates to become a heroic spirit and then goes to Avalon to reunite with his lover

See I've only seen the UBW anime. I started the Deen anime because I figured bad or not, best to start at the beginning. But then that rape thing happened and I just... no.
Saber/Shirou has the potential to be really cool but unfortunately Deen made it gross. Shirou didn't stick up for her despite being in a position of relative power. Their relationship in UBW was more respectful and equal, so I would have been fine with it if they'd gone the romance route in that context.
