I was surprised at its lightness, almost silky, and - most importantly - how well it actually does remove dust, powder, cigarette smoke, sunscreen, foundation and skin grime. Very little goes a long way, and two rounds take off everything plus the semi-waterproof mascara. Even in round 1 of cleansing the mascara started to melt. Amazing! I’ve rosacea with mixed skin leaning towards oily t zone. Just remember to use it twice.
I love Niod's modulating glucosides and thought this cleanser was like the serum. I don't get excited about cleansers, this one sounds just OK. I hope more exciting products are coming.
I love the squalane cleanser for my combo skin, as the first step of a double cleanse at night. It gets off everything, including sunscreen, without irritating or stripping, and then I use a gentle foaming cleanser. Seems like the new cleanser would work well with that, or on its own in the morning.
@@danielagranadosenriquez4287 I haven't tried it, but imagine it would work very well. Hello! I'm 45 with mature skin that is oily and with blackheads. Lol. I found out that I like a gel cleanser. I need to find a salicylic acid cleanser that is light cause it makes my skin burn sometimes. I was my face twice a day. Sometimes I will wake up and my t zine will be oily. I used a salicylic acid cleanser at night and a more gentle cleanser in the morning.
Overall, I like this cleanser, but it's the first one I've used in a long time that made my skin feel tight, which is surprising for how gentle it's supposed to be.
What is your skin type? That could make a difference. Also, I’m curious because I’m trying to figure which cleanser I should get for my combination, yet dry skin.

You are so funny and make using products interesting and fun! Glad to hear The Ordinary is coming out with this new product BUT I must say I LOVE the squalene cleanser! Mature (aka Old) skin so the oil cleanser works well. I also wish the Ordinary would come out with a more intensive hyaluronic cream - I use their moisturizer but feel like it could be a bit heavier. Anyway, YOU ARE FAB and thank you for your sense of humor!
I heard about this from a person who I met who works at the ordinary, the day before it launched. I haven’t been able to find it though. They definitely need more sunscreen’s, including body sunscreens and ones that are pa++++.
Finaly a review of this cleanser . Would it be ok if i use this cleanser with retinol i have acne prone oily skin and retinol fights acne , the reason i want this cleanser is because its not edvised to use retinol and salacily cleanser so would it be alright ?
I have a question 🙋🏽♂️, I have been using tretnoin for the last 6 months and I think it has benefited my acne and hyperpigmentation, but it causes a lot of dryness, so I compensate with hydrating serums and thick moisturizer to reduce the dryness. I have started only cleansing at night and simply washing with water and continuing my routine in the morning. Is this okay while on tret or do I need to cleanse in the morning to take off the tret if that makes sense idk 😭. I think this has made my skin less dry but I noticed when I applied the tret this evening it irritated more than usual and I’m wondering if that’s because I didn’t cleanse in the mornin. Lmk your thoughts im looking for some guidance 🤗
A morning cleanse is not needed- the products actives have absorbed and lived their life - their half life doesn’t stay active in the surface for the duration between the cleansing. Have you tried putting your hydrating moisturizer down first- waiting 10 mins then adding the Tret on top? Wait again and add your heavier moisturizer on that.
Also at night check your cleanser your using - many times it’s not just the product your applying but from the product before. You may want to back off and use it every other night or decrease the strength if needed. Also like I mentioned above putting down a layer of nutrient rich hydration and letting it dry down before applying the Tretinoin can make it way more tolerable.
Great cleanser!!! I really thinks it helps with redness. It can be at times a little drying. But I use moisturizere. . I am in love. The first time I used it I felt is was not for me. Then I ran out from a product I was using and tried this Glucoside again. But this time it worked wonders. My skin is very sensitive. Also, I do not use makeup or sunblock. So I do not know how good is to remove them. I hated the Squalane, because I felt it leaves residue.
I'm pretty happy with the cleansers I'm using, but if that changes, I'll keep this in mind. It sounds like an excellent option for dry sensitive skin. Why cleansers plural? Well, there's a drugstore one I use in the morning in the shower, or in the evening if I don't have makeup on. It's much cheaper per ounce than the Paula's Choice product I use in the evening to remove makeup. If not for the price difference, there's no reason not to use the PC product exclusively, and that's what I do when I travel and it doesn't make sense to pack 2 products. Decyl glucoside is the 2nd ingredient in the Eucerin Baby Wash and Shampoo, which I've used successfully as a body wash on my dry, sensitive skin. I never thought to try it on my face because my face is even drier!
