  • Here's one way I transfer templates I've designed digitally onto a linocut block or sheet to then hand carve, and create a printing block with.
You will need access to a laser jet printer, and some Liquitex Matt Medium, a brush and your lino sheet.

I have a problem each time that I use this method, the image transfers quite nicely, however when craving, the dry medium keeps being attached and pulls off and i loose the image (i don't know id I was clear enough)

You could try making the paper damp once the medium is dry just be quite gentle when rubbing the paper off. That’s how I do it on other surfaces but never tried it with the soft cut Lino.

you need to print your design using a laser jet printer, or a photocopying machine :) not the Ink Jet printers . give it a try :)

How long do you let it dry for?

It dries up fully within a couple of hours, so a little tip would be to prep your Lino a day before you plan to start carving

It takes a couple hours , you can leave it in the sun or use a hair dryer to make it quicker
