OMG I was waiting for you to talk about Serpent and the Wings of Night !! But I was absolutely in love with it ! It didn't overdo anything, nothing was forced - the chemistry between the leads, the plot, the world building, Everything was smooth and natural and that's how I fell in love with the duology 💕😭 And yes the second part will make more sense and do world building better- you will also understand why Oraya is the way she is. P.s Raihn takes Oraya as partner pretty much because he's kind, that's all really not much and I liked it his kindness was also not just for Oraya but for everyone around him which is kind of refreshing (you can see it as he misses his humanity)

Now that I've taken a break from my stardew valley addiction to come watch my bestie boo, all is right in the world again! I hope your year is off to a fabulous start! Also, since we are bestie boos I want to recommend one of my faves from 2024: The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland. I think you'll like it because it has very similar vibes/aesthetic as Ninth House and is chaotic in a fun way. There's three different pov's but (!) it's not obnoxious. And there's an interesting magic system and a sort of true crime element, with a sprinkle of eat the rich energy. I just thought it was so fun.
