gamerforever Mercedes interior for me is the worst of these three. Audi is a bit too much and I really liked the the classy look and feel of the bmw interiors. The new interior of bmw is for sure an upgrade to the older ones but I really can’t stand the design of the speedometer.
I have to disagree, I actually liked the slightly "older" version of the interior, like in the current 5 series, a lot better than the new one. Not a big fan of the climate controls and the digital cockpit is kinda weird too. Would definitely choose Audi or Mercedes ahead of BMW when it comes down to just the interior. Exteriorwise this is better than an A4 or C-Class though.
It's definitely nicer than before, but I feel this interior still has a very old / dated look to it. I'm not sure what it is. Perhaps the orange coloured icons and digital text in the climate control. I immediately associate the color orange with old tech back from the 90s. If BMW made the digital text and icon buttons white like Merc and Audi, it would've looked super modern.
boboprime2000 they are still real pipes. Just because they have a cover pipe around them doesn't make them fake. That's like saying the metal lid of a led pencil is a fake lid just because it covers the eraser lid. No its not fake. And either way fake or not it makes it look way better allowing you to get a parallelogram exhaust shape which suits the design language a lot better than circle ones and it also doubles as protection for the exhaust. Even new RR phantom uses "fake" exhaust tips.
That's one of the reasons I bought a BMW. I was gonna gonna buy cla 45 AMG, but only had 2 exhaust tips and faked having 4 by adding a splitter between each one lmao. With my budget I bought a 435i and it doesn't fake the exhaust pipes at all, it even makes the car look uglier than it has to be and I appreciate that they don't fake shit.
Get your facts right. Bmw had the L shaped lights before Lexus even existed. And the front lights are first made by bmw for model 3 e46, shaped with bumper, not Peugeot. Overall shape is inspired by bmw 5 e60. BMW has best engines, best transmission, best infotainment system and the best chassis in the buisness, and NOW has the BEST looking car inside and out in the class. Glory days of e46 are coming back. It took 20 years from first production and its worth the wait. I love it

Actually the 2010 looked way better than the previous version. The previous version looked very cheap and looked terrible in my opinion. This one does look way better.
They've ruined some functionality of the interior. I hate pressing a button to adjust aircon temperature. I want to ROTATE a knob like in previous BMW:s or the G30. Little things like that. I want to be able to FEEL when adjusting settings for the car, so that i can adjust certain settings while driving without having to take my eyes off the road, such as the aircon temperature for example. That is why i really like i-drive, i can move around the menu without having to look what i'm touching. Kinda like typing with a keyboard, i don't look at the keyboard, i look at the monitor while typing.
That’s because BMW and Toyota Motor Co. (Lexus) are collaborating. Z4 = New Supra, LC500 = 8 Series, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if the upcoming IS refresh takes some stuff from this new 3 series.
I'm sorry, but the Peugeot 3008 and 308 is what comes to my mind immediately when I look at the G20. And you know why? Because both of those Peugeots are in production right now, and the E46 production ended 12 years ago. Also, the E90 and F30 3 series didn't continue the "Derrick-Augen" design concept. I'm no graphic designer, but for me, the lines resemble way more Peugeot 308/3008 than E46.

BMW cars in USA does not support international languages such as Vietnamese for Vietnamese songs titles . Just English, French, or Spanish. If I transfer Vietnamese songs from the usb thumb drive into the BMW internal HD, *the screen in the BMW does not show vietnamese song titles correctly.*
They do it on purpose, but for me it's a huge bummer. This might be my next car, but not having Android Auto sucks big time. Especially because they support Carplay, BMW is very biased for Apple.
A true petrol-head Apple and BMW have had a good relationship for a very long time. The E46 was one of the first cars in the world to get an iPod integration kit. Porsche doesn’t use android auto either because they don’t agree with google’s privacy policy that keeps and sells its users data.
For the simple reason that Apple and iPhones are more “high end” and more “premium” divices than most Android products.. and most “succesful” and/or people that have more to spend on a car are 9 out of 10 times Apple users. Well whether you like it or not..

Come on! What's with car companies not providing Android Auto?! That's just stupid. The rest of the car is a nice update, all around. Looking forward to seeing how it drives. Optimistic it's got more BMW-like game on the road. Some details, though - like the Lexus tail lights, center screens that leave WAY too much dark space on either side (same with the Z4), and the super-goofy voice responses - are simply missing the mark. One thing for sure, you can spot it as a 3 Series from a mile away.
Doesn't look bad but I actually prefer the current version better. The things I prefer on this new model are the larger/roomier interior and updated interior other than that much prefer the older model.
The real question i wanna know is "Where have they put the cup holder this time?" P.S. i think it looks absolutely amazing - definitely a younger brother of the new M5 :)
I'm a lifelong BMW fanboy and I gotta say, those rear lights are right off of a Lexus IS. They're still nice though. I do like the nod back to the pre-facelift E46 headlights that had the subtle cut in the bottom of the headlight cluster to add separation to the low and light beam.All things considered, I'd fuck with this.
New BMW just like the old BMW. If you want a decent stereo, lumbar adjustable seats and split rear seats you will have to buy expensive options. But you can get fancy interior lights. Total rip-off.

I have owned 3 BMWs for 8 years, never under warranty. Never had a problem. Just do every single scheduled service and get everything fixed that they recommend.
It was not a surprise the new BMW alienates people who use real smart phones. I would like to know why they don't do Andriod Auto as well. As I will never own an Apple Toy Phone and I'm starting to wonder if Apple hava a controlling interest in BMW.

There are loads of different versions of Android out there, many Android users cannot, or will not upgrade to the latest version, so developing for it is a pain. Compare that with Iphone where you can get the latest IOS for 4-6 years, and most people have the latest IOS, far easier to develop for.
A lot of Apple people buy a phone to look expensive, so that Apple people will probably also buy a car to look expensive. Maybe that kind of people wants to use their phone during driving. Maybe android people buy a phone because they want to have a phone, and buy a BMW because they want to drive. And when you want to drive, you don't need a phone, so you don't need android auto.

The problem for car developers is always going to be having to deal with lots of different versions of Android. There are 5 different versions of Android in circulation, many having 10-20% of all phones. Imagine being in customer services and having to deal with issues on 5 different versions.
@@Ross6041 I have never used my phone for navigation. Why use your phone when the car has a navigation system. For the calls you have Bluetooth. Thats good enough.
+Bart using the phone is easier as you can plan the route in your office or home, then take it in to the car. Google Maps is also the best route planner out there, if you include street view, plus all the data on businesses and restuarants.
BMW moving in the right direction. The exterior design is more evolution than revolution for sure, but most importantly, it seems that BMW are finally building more inspiring interiors. In fact, the interior of this new 3 genuinely looks like a nice place to be. Build quality is rarely an issue with BMW interiors, but with the 3, it seems to posses a material richness to alas rival Merc and Audi. This, coupled with BMW's typically excellent drive and the surprisingly generous standard equipment, will in no doubt see it become an absolute sales success. Bring on the new M3!

They are supposedly the ultimate driving machine, I would be shocked if they could not build engines that did 200,00 motorway miles in this day and age. Too much will go wrong with these cars and it is too expensive to have them fixed for what they are.

BMW is completely lost all they can do is over engineer and over price everything. Luckily the supporting Arab nations and the USA will keep them in business regardless. The ultimate driving machine was built in 1999 they have done nothing to enhance the drive or build of their cars in 20 years.
This is the nicest BMW interior for its standard range.

I'm a lifelong BMW fanboy and I gotta say, those rear lights are right off of a Lexus IS. They're still nice though. I do like the nod back to the pre-facelift E46 headlights that had the subtle cut in the bottom of the headlight cluster to add separation to the low and light beam.All things considered, I'd fuck with this.

I have owned 3 BMWs for 8 years, never under warranty. Never had a problem. Just do every single scheduled service and get everything fixed that they recommend.

It was not a surprise the new BMW alienates people who use real smart phones. I would like to know why they don't do Andriod Auto as well. As I will never own an Apple Toy Phone and I'm starting to wonder if Apple hava a controlling interest in BMW.
maybe BMW dont want a phone that steals customer data, or acts as a tool to breach BMWs software? Another reason, Android fragmentation. There are loads of different versions of Android out there, many Android users cannot, or will not upgrade to the latest version, so developing for it is a pain. Compare that with Iphone where you can get the latest IOS for 4-6 years, and most people have the latest IOS, far easier to develop for.
A lot of Apple people buy a phone to look expensive, so that Apple people will probably also buy a car to look expensive. Maybe that kind of people wants to use their phone during driving. Maybe android people buy a phone because they want to have a phone, and buy a BMW because they want to drive. And when you want to drive, you don't need a phone, so you don't need android auto.
+Bart Jan Flikkema you do need a phone while driving, for navigation, and calls from the boss. There are expensive Android phones too, like the Galaxy note range. The problem for car developers is always going to be having to deal with lots of different versions of Android. There are 5 different versions of Android in circulation, many having 10-20% of all phones. Imagine being in customer services and having to deal with issues on 5 different versions.
@@Ross6041 I have never used my phone for navigation. Why use your phone when the car has a navigation system. For the calls you have Bluetooth. Thats good enough.
+Bart using the phone is easier as you can plan the route in your office or home, then take it in to the car. Google Maps is also the best route planner out there, if you include street view, plus all the data on businesses and restuarants.

BMW moving in the right direction. The exterior design is more evolution than revolution for sure, but most importantly, it seems that BMW are finally building more inspiring interiors. In fact, the interior of this new 3 genuinely looks like a nice place to be. Build quality is rarely an issue with BMW interiors, but with the 3, it seems to posses a material richness to alas rival Merc and Audi. This, coupled with BMW's typically excellent drive and the surprisingly generous standard equipment, will in no doubt see it become an absolute sales success. Bring on the new M3!

BMW is more reliable than ever. Even with 35.000 kms oil changes they still go strong after 300.000 kms.

They are supposedly the ultimate driving machine, I would be shocked if they could not build engines that did 200,00 motorway miles in this day and age. I am talking about the endless equipment and sensors and pointless buttons that will inevitably show as faults on the dash board once the warranty runs out - fuck that noise. Too much will go wrong with these cars and it is too expensive to have them fixed for what they are.

BMW is completely lost all they can do is over engineer and over price everything. Luckily the supporting Arab nations and the USA will keep them in business regardless. The ultimate driving machine was built in 1999 they have done nothing to enhance the drive or build of their cars in 20 years.
