Do the farms own all that equipment? I apologize since I'm from Europe and we have very small fields here. How does it work? Do they lease the machines for the harvest? Cause in my country everyone owns their equipment and I cant even imagine someone owning 2 of those things let alone 6 or how many they have...

@@sgtbigpoop8559 not all but the majority of the largest operations are still family owned in the United States. Also there are some pretty large custom crop firms. I’m not sure about Canada. It’s actually very hard for small farmers in the United States now. New equipment is so expensive and sluggish commodity prices have made it impossible for the small guy. Small farms have sold out to larger ones that have cash flow and equity in land to purchase the struggling smaller farm. It’s a shame I was a small dairy farmer in my late teens and early 20’s. But I do respect the large farms and always thought the large farm equipment was cool. Was always a dream of mine to have a large farm in Montana.

So many machines that you have a traffic jam in the lot is a fairly unique problem I'd think but pretty fun and impressive !! Keep these coming and thanks a lot !!!

Gotta love thinking about the scale of this operation... I live on a little 10 acre homestead. A single pass of one of these machines down a 1 mile long field harvests 6 acres, in about ~15 minutes. Take that by 6 machines... they're harvesting somewhere in the ballpark of 2.4 acres per minute. If I had my entire property 100% covered in crop, which I don't, they'd do in four minutes what I do in an entire summer.

I’ve actually seen something like this before when I used to go north to cut wheat in the Texas panhandle. Some guy had planted his entire backyard in wheat, it was like 8 acres if I remember right and he saw us dropping our heads to move down the road a bit and he asked if we could cut his field real quick. I’m like sure, ask my brother and sister to come with me. So we had three 9670 / 9770 combines with 30 / 35 foot heads in that field. It did not take long at all ha ha. That will always be the weirdest field I have ever cut because we were always in each other’s way!!! It got to the point that my sister said, screw this, and just unloaded and went to the next field. It was a literal backyard planted in wheat!!! Distinct memories like that ha
