The truth about family is that they feel entitled. I currently have my brother-in-law living with us and he has been doing so for 8 months. The intention was for us to put up a small building he could live in which we are doing but it’s at our own expense. He in turn does absolutely nothing chore wise and he does not work as he quit when he moved here. Now to be fair he moved here because the rent everywhere went up to where he could no longer afford rent (probably due to moratorium), which we understand. He quit his job, got on welfare and insisted on taking care of his teeth and his eyes first before finding another job. We are now 8 months in and he makes no effort to schedule anything doctor wise, my wife does all of that. He makes no effort to do any chores in the house, I do all that, he doesn’t pay his own phone bill my wife and I do that, and he won’t even clean his own bathroom. He does however have a job under the table cleaning an apartment once a month which pays him $250- of which he tries to give us a whole whopping $25- dollars of a month. He has taken over my BBQ grill and my SMOKER without my consent, he has added channels to our Roku without asking and even added an adult channel which I deleted after he lied about downloading it. He has no drivers license due to several DUI’s in the past but could easily get his license back since he has already completed all the court required items but he is to lazy to make the calls. This leads me to the next point my days are pretty much fucked because guess who gets to drive him 60 plus miles to his doctor appointments while he just sits on the passenger side playing with the radio? I am beyond fed up.
