  • In this video, Ken discusses and demonstrates with diagrams how high your handles should be during the recovery from the finish to the catch. Ken highlights all the critical actions and positions as well as demonstrating what it looks like when most novice rowers perform the recovery.
    He demonstrates how all the movement should be from the elbow and forearm and not in the shoulders. Wrist position is vital when tapping down and beginning the recovery. You want the blade to stay pretty much the same height from the finish to the catch.
    At the catch, you want to lift the hands just enough to place the blade without engaging the shoulders.
