I thought so too. But probably because all those that really shouldn't - are overtaken by sheer terror and don't before doing the decision to walk on! A filter of sorts! I walked out on the rock. Looking back at the mountain was not a problem. Then I turned around and looked down, which was a big mistake. When I was going down again I kept imagining that I would trip in my own feet, slip or something else that would end badly. But fortunately in ended well.
What kind of shoes are best for the hike and to go onto the rock? Trailrunning shoes, real hiking shoes. I hike half dome with trail running shoes and it was alright.
@@KristianAkseth I did it in trailrunning shoes. They work fine because they give you ankle freedom while mountaineering boots do not and I do not know if that can even be a disadvantage here. The most important thing is not to use plain sneakers/sport-shoes without a good and deep pattern underneath.
I seriously don't get people that think this is an achievement. Go stand by the train and try crossing at the last moment, it's the same thing. If this makes your life more exciting then it must be boring, I enjoy life and these foolish things remind me how much I actually enjoy it and not having to take risks like these to give it more spice.
This is hardly risking your life though. You put your risk your life at a greater extent whenever you get in a car. If you wanna live your life completely risk free, I doubt you have much fun
You wont believe how long the queu is behind the bolder.. Once you see that, you kinda got the feeling of "it is not too risky then", and you went for it. Just the way I did :D It is an incredible feeling to be honest.. and seriously it is not as risky as it seems..
Good morning, I’m a video editor for Ciaopeople Media Group (www.ciaopeople.it), the italian publisher of Fanpage.it and "Ohga!”, a new magazine about health, wellness, green vibes. I would like to achieve a videostory about Kjeragbolten and the norwegian fjords (for our Facebook, Instagram and RUclips channels), because I think it could be exciting for all our readers. And your incredible video must be in it! That’s why I’m asking your permission to use it, crediting you. Let me know as soon as you can. Thanks in advance. Matteo De Micco
We have been there just recently. But the conditions (strong wind, snow and rain) wouldn't have made it very smart to get on the stone: ruclips.net/video/H2dwYF7xj8E/видео.html
Actually 3 persons have died on this rock(from falling) during the last 10 years. Compared to Preikestolen/pulpit rock where one person has died from falling ever. Source: norwegian tv2
I'm astonished there have been no reported deaths. One slip. One momentary loss of balance. One instant of the fear overtaking you. Astonishing.

I risked my life to watch this video.
Almost felt from my barstool..
Hahahah 😅
Not funny or witty.
I was here, but at the last moment decided not to risk my life. Still shaking at the thought of falling.
Good decision!
I was there too. But I decided to not risk my life months before as I saw pictures from it. ^^

Same decision i did for my dougter of 10 Years old in Summer 2017.
i did it in the pouring rain so scary but had to do it

Good thing is there is a long hike to get there. So if ever you would be in a striding between rocks mode it could be there.
If I die it’ll ruin my parents’ lives. That’s what keeps me from doing stuff like this
Finally a good video :D that shows different angles how to go to the stone.
This makes me even more confused as to how people take jumping photos on the boulder. I think I'd want a parachute.
20 year old me - hell yes
50 year old me - hell no
20 year old me - no way

I would be freaking out that I wouldn't be able to get back off of it again... that appears even more frightening than getting on it! Eeek!
A big nope from me!
lol perfect song for this
God you are so good at this!! I chickened out at the last moment!! Envy you~
This boulder is waiting for Wile E. Coyote to walk under it.
When I was there it was wet, slippery and strong wind. I only managed to sit there not much. Alot of fun but very scary :D
ok, officially I shit myself.
I did this 2 weeks ago!!!!! The craziest thing I did my whole life!!!!
The amount of anxiety ridden sweat dripping off me would turn that rock into an ice rink like disaster zone.
That rock looks pretty worn and not enough surface area to allow for error.....worse looking than the troll-tongue rock
Only one foot touches that rock and my knees were shaking. Then I decided not to cause I felt like fainting when I saw it was too deep.
And a 1000 m free fall if you stumble while hoping out
I did it just today! Unbelievable experience!
Why you didnt jump.strong Gay man.because you don.t have balls.flikker
congrats man, I'm anxious about this upcoming trip
Palms are sweating, I wish I had the bravery to do that
Bravery or dumbness? All cool and shit utill somebody really falls to death

No, it's not the same thing at all. Sounds like your life could use some spice, or some Carolina reaper.
Yip my thought exactly

To think they just do it for a stupid pic for social media. Unbelievable
I have recurring nightmares of falling off of steep stairs with no rails...I would NEVER be a good candidate for this. It be like committing suicide.
Oefff this looks terrifying 😮😮
Awesome place but I suffer from vertigo...i can never go up there! I’m alteady suffering from seeing this video....
my keyboard is sinking in sweat :(
I would certainly try with parachute on.
I did this. Never been so scared in my life...
I would life to try it for the pic, but i have alot of dreams so i wont risk it hahah
Amazing.
Please don't tell me you're taking this risk only to make a stupid selfie to get some likes on Facebook or instagram. It would be so stupid...
indeed
Im not sure if thats the only reason but theyre definitly using it for that. ;)

Why risk your life for a photo?
There are propably daredevils with hooverboards on this stone on the net but I certainly don´t want to see it.
A guy rode a bike straight onto it. Definitely crazy.
